Her first thought was whether Luo Jingyan had stolen her bricks and tiles. But when she woke up in the morning, she saw Luo Jingyan at the educated youth settlement. Where would Luo Jingyan hide the stolen bricks and tiles? After all, Luo Jingyan wasn't like her, with a spatial dimension.
Perhaps Luo Jingyan stole her bricks and tiles and hid them elsewhere, but if she were to ask Luo Jingyan directly, Luo Jingyan would definitely not admit it.
She decided to go to the brigade leader first and ask him to help her find her lost bricks and tiles.
She wasn't distressed about the money spent on bricks and tiles, but rather that they were hard to find. Not only did she need a receipt, but she also had to queue at the brick and tile factory. What she regretted was her own hard work.
On her way to her home in the brigade, she had to pass by Hu Sanqiang's house. Before she even reached the door, she saw Hu Sanqiang and Aunt Hu carrying bricks and tiles into their house, and there was a pile of bricks and tiles placed in front of the house.
Because she had just lost bricks and tiles, seeing someone transporting bricks and tiles immediately reminded her of the bricks and tiles she had lost.
She went closer and saw that the bricks and tiles were all new and blue. She immediately realized that the two men had stolen her bricks and tiles.
How could she remain calm after finding out who the thief who stole the bricks and tiles was?
She walked up to the busy mother and son and said, "I said my bricks and tiles were right there on my land, how did they suddenly disappear? It turns out you stole them. These are the bricks and tiles I worked so hard to bring back from the brickyard. Give them back to me."
When Hu Sanqiang and Aunt Hu saw her coming and heard what she said, they were both stunned.
When did they steal anything?
They found it at the door this morning. They finally encountered such a good thing, how could it be Zhuang Feifei's?
There's no one in the Hu family who isn't greedy. The mother and son had already discussed it when they found these bricks and tiles. They didn't know who put them here, or whose they originally belonged, but now that they were at their doorstep, they wanted to move them inside as soon as possible. Once inside, they would be theirs, and once something was in their hands, no matter who came to claim it, they wouldn't be able to get rid of it.
Aunt Hu raised an eyebrow, displaying her most characteristic shrewish, domineering, and unreasonable demeanor, and said to Zhuang Feifei with her chin held high: "These are the bricks and tiles we bought ourselves, how are they yours? You just say they're yours with a few words, and that's it? You can't extort money like this. Don't you know that I'm not someone you can easily extort?"
Zhuang Feifei was certain it couldn't be such a coincidence. Her bricks and tiles had just been stolen, and the Hu family was bringing bricks and tiles into their home. They must have stolen them.
It's normal for Aunt Hu to refuse to admit that she's a thief, as thieves don't easily admit it.
So she asked Aunt Hu, "You need a slip from the brigade leader to buy bricks and tiles. Do you have one? I'll go ask the brigade leader. If he didn't give you a slip, then your bricks and tiles were stolen."
“We have a note,” Aunt Hu said. “It was given to us by Secretary Lai before, and it still works.”
What she said was true. Secretary Lai did give them a note back then. They hadn't originally planned to buy bricks and tiles; they were just preparing them for future use.
Zhuang Feifei glared at Aunt Hu, and at this moment she began to doubt her own guess. Could it be that these bricks and tiles really weren't the ones she had lost?
Just as she was wavering, she suddenly noticed dried blood on a brick. When she was buying bricks, a worker carrying bricks accidentally dropped one and injured his ankle, staining several bricks with blood.
It's impossible for such a coincidence to happen, so these bricks and tiles must have been stolen by the Hu family mother and son.
"You two don't need to argue anymore. These bricks and tiles are all mine. They're marked. Do you see those dried bloodstains? Those were left by the workers who installed the bricks and tiles for me. I advise you to honestly return them to me, or I won't be polite."
The villagers have always been hostile to outsiders, and Aunt Hu was a domineering and unreasonable person. She threw a tantrum and said, "Don't be polite. What can you do to us? We didn't steal from you. Do you think you can scare us and we'll give you our bricks and tiles? What a joke."
Zhuang Feifei bit her lip tightly in anger. She was unwilling to let someone else take her things like that. That idiot Luo Jingyan could let go of the loss of her things, but she couldn't. She couldn't swallow this anger.
This mother and child must not be let off the hook.
So she stepped forward and, while Aunt Hu was carrying bricks, kicked a small stone. Aunt Hu wasn't looking where she was going and accidentally stepped on the stone. She slipped, lost her balance, and fell straight to the ground. The bricks in her hands fell to the ground, and three of them hit Hu Sanqiang's feet, making him howl in pain.
But Hu Sanqiang had just realized that it was Zhuang Feifei who was up to no good, deliberately kicking pebbles to trip his mother.
"Mother, this woman deliberately kicked pebbles at your feet, causing you to fall. Mother, she's trying to harm us."
Hearing Hu Sanqiang's words, Aunt Hu immediately flew into a rage. Her fierce temper flared up, and she got up from the ground, ran a few steps to Zhuang Feifei, and slapped Zhuang Feifei across the face. Then, she grabbed Zhuang Feifei's hair with her other hand and tore at it forcefully.
"You little bitch, how dare you scheme against me? You're asking for trouble."
Zhuang Feifei was no pushover either, and of course she wouldn't let Aunt Hu beat her up unilaterally. She slapped Aunt Hu back and reached out to tear at Aunt Hu's hair and clothes.
Slap! Aunt Hu raised her hand and slapped her back, and then the two of them started fighting.
Hu Sanqiang would definitely side with Aunt Hu if he was there. He didn't distinguish between men and women. Anyone who went against them, whether old, weak, sick, or disabled, would be severely punished by him. On the contrary, he bullied those weaker than him even more harshly. As for those stronger than him, he would just obediently beg for mercy. He was a typical bully who picked on the weak and feared the strong.
