After she finished speaking, she raised her hand and slapped Li Hongying twice across the face, as a warning to Li Hongying.
"I hope you remember what you said today. If you cause me any more trouble in the future, just wait and see."
Li Hongying covered her aching cheek and repeatedly assured her, "Mother, I won't do it again. Thank you for not pursuing this matter."
After Liu's mother left, Li Hongying quickly snuggled into Liu Aiguo's arms. Liu Aiguo was a mama's boy, and this time he unusually didn't listen to his mother.
She cupped Liu Aiguo's face in her hands, and before Liu Aiguo could speak up for his mother, Li Hongying said, "Aiguo, I don't blame my mother. I know she did it for my own good, to educate me, and for the good of our family."
Seeing her like this, Liu Aiguo felt very comforted.
“Hongying, it’s good that you think this way. Your mother always does it for our own good, so that our family can get better and better. You can understand your mother’s good intentions. Hongying, you are becoming more and more understanding.”
Li Hongying simply hooked her arm around his neck: "Aiguo, I'm so tired, carry me back to my room."
She deliberately moved closer to him, and Liu Aiguo felt a strange sensation involuntarily. He then suddenly picked up Li Hongying and carried her back to their room.
It's unclear how long they fussed over it, but as it was getting dark, Liu's mother came to knock on the door and asked Li Hongying to cook. Liu Aiguo refused and called out to his mother through the door, "Mom, Hongying and I are still busy. If you want to hold your grandson soon, please don't bother us."
Liu's mother was initially angry, but considering the prospect of holding her grandson, she decided to let bygones be bygones with Li Hongying for the time being.
