Chapter 29: Should we smash the pot?

The people around her were watching the drama unfold, and Luo Jingyan was also enjoying it immensely.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and sure enough, it's true.

In her past life, she often saw the protagonist gossiping in books. She has a gossipy nature, and she wanted to gossip too. She actually got to witness it live, which was great.

The educated youth compound was bustling with activity. As long as no one bothered her, living there wasn't so bad; at least there was something to gossip about.

She went back to her dormitory, tidied up her bed, and rested for a while.

Jiang Manyue and Shen Ruyi were cleaning up the dishes outside. Ding Peipei and her berth were next to each other, and the two chatted for a few words, but there was nothing of substance to their conversation.

I need to go to the county town to pick up a package today, so I asked Luo Changtian to come with me. I also asked Jiang Manyue, but she doesn't buy anything, so she's not going.

The siblings went to the village entrance to wait for the oxcart to the county town. The fare to the county town was five cents per person, and Luo Jingyan paid the old man driving the cart ten cents for the fare.

Lin Shanshan and Du Yinan also came, followed by Ding Peipei carrying a snakeskin bag, Zhao Wensong, and Fang Zhiyuan.

Luo Jingyan could even see Fang Zhiyuan's eyes, and he would occasionally stare at the buttocks of the woman in front of him.

At the very back was the male educated youth named Zhao Jun.

Once the oxcart was full, it set off.

Most of the people on the bus were educated youth sent to the countryside, as well as some elderly women from the village who were going to the county town to shop or visit relatives.

These older women usually love to gossip and joke around, and when they see the new educated youth arrive, they can't help but ask them a few questions.

Luo Jingyan followed local customs and chatted briefly with them. Twenty minutes later, the oxcart arrived in the county town.

The passengers got off the bus one by one, and Luo Jingyan and Luo Changtian prepared to head straight to the post office.

Luo Jingyan remembered that Ding Peipei said yesterday that she was going to the post office to mail a package, but after getting off the bus, Ding Peipei disappeared in the blink of an eye. She saw Ding Peipei go in another direction, a route that was obviously off the way from the county town, and it couldn't possibly be to the post office.

In an instant, Luo Jingyan had a quick idea. She guessed that Ding Peipei was probably going to sell the items on the black market, or that she had other things to take care of first and then went to the post office.

But none of this concerns her, and she won't meddle in other people's business.

She glanced at him casually and noticed that Zhao Jun seemed to have left in the same direction as Ding Peipei.

Is Zhao Jun also going to do business on the black market?

No way, Zhao Jun clearly didn't take anything with him, his hands were empty.

It's also possible that Zhao Jun is highly skilled, buying and selling on the black market without having to source the goods himself, thus making a profit without any investment.

It seems that the educated youth settlement was a place full of talented people.

When she and Luo Changtian arrived at the post office, they were surprised to see Xue Yanchen there as well.

"Brother Xue."

Luo Changtian walked over with a smile. Although he hadn't known Brother Xue for long, it didn't stop him from liking him very much.

Xue Yanchen was somewhat surprised and delighted to see them.

"Jingyan, Xiaotian, you're here too."
