Before Grandma Xue and Luo Jingyan had finished their conversation, the food was already on the table.
Mrs. Xue placed a piece of fish on Luo Jingyan's plate and said, "Jingyan, my cooking skills may not be as good as yours, please make do with this."
Luo Jingyan took a bite of the fish: "Auntie, you did a great job."
Grandma Xue was eager to try her granddaughter-in-law's cooking. She chuckled and said, "Your future mother-in-law definitely can't cook as well as you, Jingyan. Let's compete with her. Grandma will help you out tonight, okay?"
Luo Jingyan seemed to have guessed Grandma Xue's intention and agreed, "Okay, Grandma."
After dinner, Xue's mother said, "Jingyan, I've prepared a room for you. I'll take you there. You can rest for a while." Then she looked at Xue's grandmother and said, "Mom, you should rest for a while too."
Grandma Xue originally wanted to spend more time with her granddaughter-in-law, but then she remembered that Luo Jingyan had just arrived by train and needed to rest, so she went back to her room.
Xue's mother led Luo Jingyan to a bedroom on the second floor.
The room was clean and tidy. Luo Jingyan could see that the sheets, duvet covers and pillows were all new, and there was a new set of pink pajamas on the bed. The table and floor were also spotless, showing Xue's mother's thoughtfulness and attentiveness.
"Jingyan, we haven't made many arrangements, so just make do for a few days."
"Auntie, it's already very good."
"Okay, I'll go out first. You can rest now."
"Okay, Auntie."
Just as Xue's mother reached the door, a tall, imposing wall of flesh tried to enter, but Xue's mother stopped it at the door: "Let Jingyan rest for a while, you don't need to go in."
"Mom, my wife has been monopolized by Grandma for so long, I want to spend some time alone with her."
Mrs. Xue glared at him and said, "Go back in a bit, don't disturb Jingyan's rest."
"I understand, Mom."
After Xue Yanchen came in, he closed the door, hugged his sweet and soft wife, and fell onto the bed.

In some situations, young girls are easily hurt; not getting married doesn't mean they can be responsible for someone for a lifetime.
"Alright, go back and rest now."

Grandma Xue couldn't sleep in her room. She wanted to take her granddaughter-in-law out to show her off. An hour later, she looked into Luo Jingyan's room and found the door closed, so she had to go back inside and wait a while longer.
Another hour passed, and when she went to check again, the door was still closed. The old lady was getting increasingly anxious.
Luo Jingyan has been on the train for two days and one night, and is now sleeping soundly.
When she woke up and opened the door, she saw that it wasn't Xue Yanchen standing outside, but Old Madam Xue.
"grandmother."
"Jingyan, how was your rest? Are you still sleepy?"
Luo Jingyan rubbed her eyes: "Grandma, I'm not sleepy anymore."
"Now that I'm not sleepy anymore, Grandma would like you to come for a walk with me, okay?"
"Okay, Grandma, I'll go wash my face first."
"Grandma will go get you some hot water."
Grandma Xue poured water from the thermos for Luo Jingyan, "Girl, go wash up."
"Thank you, Grandma."
After washing her face, Luo Jingyan applied some face cream. She usually washes her face with the spiritual spring water in her space, so she doesn't need to apply anything, and her skin is still delicate and smooth.
After Luo Jingyan finished dressing and putting on her scarf, she went out with Grandma Xue.

When the other neighbors in the courtyard saw her, they all praised Luo Jingyan for being beautiful.
The old lady's vanity was satisfied, and she walked away with Luo Jingyan with a smile.
She and her old friends liked to stroll in the park in the afternoon, so she took Luo Jingyan there.
"Jingyan, Grandma likes to come here for a stroll, practice some boxing, and go for a run whenever she has free time. It's good for her health."
Luo Jingyan observed that the old lady had a rosy complexion, spoke with a strong voice, and walked briskly, showing no signs of old age.
"Grandma, you're as strong as a young person."
Grandma Xue smiled and said, "It's nothing. Back when I was young..."
The old lady wanted to boast about her past achievements, but that's not what she came out to talk about today.
"It's a long story. When we get home, Grandma will tell you all about my life when I was young."
"Okay, Grandma, I'm all ears."
When Grandma Xue met her old friends, they all praised Luo Jingyan for being beautiful. Of course, Grandma Xue really wanted to reveal that Luo Jingyan was a chef, making those old folks drool with envy. But she was afraid that if they knew Luo Jingyan had a skill, they would pester her to make pastries.
Sigh, she could only suppress her urge to speak out.
The old lady took Luo Jingyan for a walk, and her vanity was completely satisfied. But instead of going home immediately, they went to an alley.
"Grandma, what are we doing here?"
Could this be the place where the Xue family used to live?
Grandma Xue smiled mysteriously: "You'll find out in a moment."
The two arrived at a courtyard. Old Mrs. Xue took out a key from her pocket, unlocked the large lock on the courtyard gate, and led Luo Jingyan inside.
This is a two-section courtyard house. Luo Jingyan estimated that there were about a dozen rooms in total, in all directions. There were a few trees in the courtyard, but it was winter now, and the trees were all bare, so Luo Jingyan couldn't tell what kind of trees they were.
There are also artificial hills and flower beds in the courtyard; it must be very beautiful in the summer.
Grandma Xue asked, "Jingyan, are you satisfied with this place?"
Luo Jingyan asked in surprise, "Grandma, you're asking me?"
