Many women brought out their valuables and offered them to her, but Luo Jingyan refused them all.
"Don't worry, Luo Zhiqing. We will take good care of your parents and younger brother. Don't worry about them."
“You must come back to visit often, Luo Zhiqing.”
Looking at these warm-hearted villagers, Luo Jingyan suddenly felt reluctant to leave.
Suddenly someone came running over, sobbing. As they got closer, Luo Jingyan realized it was Uncle Li Jiu.
Uncle Li Jiu was carrying a bag in his hand, wiping away his tears as he handed it to Luo Jingyan.
"Waaah, Master, I don't know how to repay you. These are salted eggs that I pickled myself. You must take them."
Everyone turned to look at the old man wiping away his tears.
This was the first time Uncle Li had publicly acknowledged Luo Jingyan as his master. It's worth noting that Uncle Li was always very proud in the eyes of these villagers, yet he was crying uncontrollably in front of so many of them, repeatedly calling Luo Jingyan "Master." Everyone looked at him as if he were a monster.
Luo Jingyan accepted the gifts he gave her and waved to the villagers.
"Goodbye everyone, goodbye Uncle Jiu, I'll come back often."
"Master, be careful on the road."
"I understand, Uncle Jiu."
Luo Jingyan and Xue Yanchen got into the oxcart. As the oxcart drove further and further away, Xue Yanchen noticed that his wife was staring at the direction of the village entrance with red eyes. He reached out and took her small hand.
"I will come back with you whenever I have time in the future."
"Um."

Xue Ningnan has been absent-minded these past few days. She figured that Xue Yanchen, Old Madam Xue, and Luo Jingyan had been gone for five or six days and would probably be back soon. If she was sure that the woman was born in the same hospital as her, she absolutely couldn't let the Xue family see that woman.
However, another question came to her mind.
If the two women's lives were truly swapped, what would their family situation be like?
If that family is well-off, she would naturally want to go back to that family.
She remembered the woman's clothes, which were tattered and patched, and that she was buying vegetables at the market. She guessed that the woman's family was poor, and her parents' family must not be well-off either. She had no intention of going back.
She found a silk scarf at home, went outside the market, covered half of her face with the scarf, and then walked into the market.
Her first task was to check if Sheng Yuwan had come to buy groceries today. As she expected, Sheng Yuwan had come with her children again. She placed the basket in front of her, which was filled with bright green bok choy and chives. Both children sat quietly beside her, without making a fuss. The older one, Jinbao, could even help his mother sell vegetables.
Xue Ningnan pretended to browse around the other stalls before heading to Sheng Yuwan's vegetable stall.
She glanced at the bok choy and chives in the basket, then, instead of rushing to buy vegetables, she focused her gaze on Sheng Yuwan's face and looked at her carefully for a while.
The more she looked at Sheng Yuwan, the more she felt that she resembled someone from the Xue family, and she secretly clenched her fist in her pocket.
Sheng Yuwan frowned when she noticed that she was staring at her.
"Excuse me, is there something on my face?"
"No." Xue Ningnan looked away. "Because you look familiar to me, like an aunt I used to know."
"Really?" Sheng Yuwan smiled. "I think we're about the same age."
She estimated that Xue Ningnan looked to be in his early twenties.
Xue Ningnan shook her head and then said, "You're definitely not that old. Let me ask you, were you born in the military hospital behind me when you were little? My aunt gave birth there before. What if you're her daughter?"
Sheng Yuwan shook her head: "Although it's true that I was born in the military hospital here, I don't look like my mother at all. You've got the wrong person."
Xue Ningnan immediately frowned. She really was born in the military hospital. The mother and daughter didn't look alike, just like she and her mother didn't look alike either.
With a thud, it felt like a heavy stone had been thrown into her heart, making her feel tightness in her chest and a little breathless.
Could it be that she really was switched at birth with this woman?
No, she needs to clarify things further.
"Sister, oh, I don't know how old you are, I'm twenty-seven this year."
"I'm also twenty-seven."
Xue Ningnan's pupils dilated in shock once again: "What a coincidence! We're the same age. What a coincidence! I wonder if we were born on the same day. My birthday is September 28th. If you're older than me, I'll call you 'older sister' without feeling guilty."
Sheng Yuwan felt like she was being interrogated. She wasn't familiar with her, and if she hadn't wanted her to buy her groceries, she wouldn't have chatted with her for so long.
"I was born on August 16th," she casually made up a date.
Xue Ningnan didn't actually give her real birth date. She was afraid that if she revealed the truth, and they were born on the same day, the other person might notice something.
But the date the other person gave her is not the same as her birthday. It's possible that the other person is also lying, just like her. So, were they really switched at birth?
She took two bundles of bok choy and one bundle of chives from the basket in front of Sheng Yuwan.
"Sister, I want these."
"Okay, that'll be five cents in total."
Xue Ningnan took out five cents from her pocket and gave it to Sheng Yuwan, then took the vegetables and left temporarily.
As noon approached, Sheng Yuwan finished selling vegetables and took the children home. She quietly followed behind them.
