Chapter 253 Construction

Song He'er didn't continue arguing with the two of them. It was pointless to waste words here. She would rather take care of her business and deal with them after her restaurant opened.

Thinking of this, Song He'er turned and left.

Ruan Wenxiao chased after her from behind and stopped her. "Don't be in such a hurry. Did my aunt return that book to you?"

“I’ve already taken it. I didn’t want you to know about this, but it’s really unfortunate that you came today, just in time to be here. But after all, she’s your closest relative, so you shouldn’t make things difficult for her. Let me handle this myself.”

After saying that, Song He'er turned around and left, without giving Ruan Wenxiao a chance to explain.

Jiang Huaifu took everything in the lobby. Although he disliked Ruan Wenxiao and was also unhappy to see such a scene, he still made sure to maintain appearances and did not show Ruan Wenxiao any displeasure in public.

“Young Master Ruan, there’s no need to see us off. We’ll be leaving now.” Jiang Huaifu stood up and spoke calmly.

Being men, Ruan Wenxiao could immediately see Jiang Huaifu's feelings for Song He'er.

“Brother, you’re too kind. I’m friends with Miss Song, and she even saved my life, so I have great respect for her. It’s no trouble to see her off. Of course, if you don’t like having another person, then I won’t see her off.”

Seeing his serious demeanor, Jiang Huaifu felt a little awkward, as if he were a gentleman and Jiang Huaifu was a rude and uncouth person.

“Young Master Ruan, you’re being too kind. There’s no question of liking or disliking. I’ll get in the carriage and wait for you two to talk.”

Song He'er was speechless and caught in a dilemma. She had no choice but to bid farewell to Ruan Wenxiao and get into the carriage with Jiang Huaifu.

However, she didn't have the interest or time to take care of Jiang Huaifu's feelings. She had to hurry to the teahouse to handle things. After purchasing the goods, she also had to decorate the interior, prepare the menu, and find a chef.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Jiang Huaifu asked childishly.

"I have a lot of things to take care of, don't be unreasonable, okay? He and I are friends, and besides, you and I are friends too, so don't meddle!"

One sentence almost choked Jiang Huaifu to death. He paused, then simply stopped talking.

When we arrived at the teahouse, we saw that the waiter who had stayed the day before had cleaned it thoroughly, but things hadn't been put away yet, so it was a bit crowded.

“Miss, these tables and chairs were delivered this morning. I noticed that the private rooms upstairs are all empty. Why don’t we move them up?” the servant asked.

"No need. The room still needs design and renovation. These things will be temporarily placed in the lobby. I've already asked A-Lu to contact a bricklayer. You'll stay here for the next few days. But don't worry, I won't mistreat you. Just let me know if you need any money!"

Jiang Huaifu was probably tired from running around for two days, and his body hadn't fully recovered, so he looked listless.

"I'm sorry, I've sent everyone around you away, and there's no one to take care of you anymore."

Jiang Huaifu reached out and pinched his brow. "I'm a little tired. Are there any private rooms with beds upstairs?"

The servant stepped forward and replied, "Yes, there is a large private room with a mahogany bed that hasn't been moved. Perhaps it's too big, so it's still there. Why don't you go up and rest, sir?"

Jiang Huaifu nodded, got up, and walked towards the second floor...

Song He'er didn't have time to deal with him, and went directly to other stores to buy things.

Four bricklayers were hired; they were young, but the wages were very high.

After leaving the person behind, A-Lu asked Song He'er to come out and arrange tasks.

This small area is far from enough for a large restaurant; Song He'er also needs to spend time making use of the polo field at the back.

Based on the area shown, it's possible to build a place similar to a modern bathhouse, with hot spring pools, a dining area, and a relaxation and beauty area.

"Young lady, these bricklayers are all top-notch. We've been searching for them for a long time. What kind of work would you like to assign them?"

Song He'er held the purchase order and carefully calculated each item.

He looked up, glanced at the oldest bricklayer, then handed him a piece of paper and instructed, "Build me a tower similar in size to a grand palace over the polo field in the back. Dig deep down on the first floor and make several water-filled pools. Also, is there a spring on the back mountain? I remember the lake water is hot!"

The bricklayer nodded. “There is a spring in the back mountain, but it is too difficult to dig, so basically no one is willing to do it. But if you want to use the spring water there, I can give it a try.”

Seeing that he said that, Song He'er finally felt relieved.

"We don't need to change much about this teahouse. Just treat it like a regular restaurant. We'll just put up a partition on the left to create the largest private room, so we can find a girl who can sing and play the pipa to perform for the guests. We'll make it the size of a 'wasi' (entertainment district)."

The three bricklayers kept praising the blueprints, saying, "Young lady, you are truly a genius! Such an amazing design will surely make this restaurant the most famous in Jiangning."

Song He'er smiled and said, "You should have your own workers, right? I shouldn't need to supervise such small tasks."

"No need, with the construction drawings, we'll arrange for someone to do it!"

"Yes, and also, my blueprints must never be leaked. If they are leaked, I will hold you responsible."

The bricklayer nodded. "Yes, we know about weight."

"After the tower at the polo field is built, the second and third floors will be converted into small rooms, not for living. Each room will only be able to accommodate a small bed and will be used exclusively by women. The fourth floor will be used to arrange several large private rooms for a family of four."

The bricklayer was puzzled. "What if ordinary guests come and want to stay at an inn, but there's nowhere to stay?"

"The stage next to the teahouse will be demolished, and a courtyard will be built to accommodate the guests staying at the inn."

The bricklayers exchanged a glance and nodded. "We understand, young lady."

After explaining everything, Song He'er felt parched and wanted to find some tea to drink.

"Miss, we're out of tea," Ah Lu said.

Song He'er breathed a sigh of relief. "I bought a lot of things, but I forgot to buy tea. Oh well, I'll go to the shop across the street to get something to eat and have a drink while I'm at it."

"Then be careful."

"Um……"

After saying that, Song He'er walked towards the shop across the street...

Across the street was a place selling cold dishes and serving drinks. After Song He'er went in, the proprietress greeted her with a big smile.

"Honored guest, are you from across the street?"

Song He'er was somewhat surprised, and then felt very displeased. Could it be that this woman was secretly spying on her?

"The proprietress is truly observant and has heard everything!"

The proprietress smiled faintly, "With such a commotion, not only would people from other shops notice, but they would too, wouldn't they?"
