Chapter 37

Chapter 37

Fang Xiaoyu was not surprised when she noticed that the lane had been expanded from six to eight lanes.

She drove quietly, but her heart was heavy and her mind was a jumbled mess.

Wang Le was catching up on sleep after staying up all night, and he was sleeping soundly; you could hear his soft snoring.

The eldest princess sat on the ground with her, occasionally getting her attention from the cartoons on the LCD screen, revealing a human-like expression.

Two hours later, Fang Xiaoyu saw a car crashing behind her in her rearview mirror.

At first, she didn't intend to pay attention, but when the distance between them closed, she turned the steering wheel and changed lanes.

Unexpectedly, the other party was after the RV. Ignoring the lanes next to it, they insisted on following behind her, closing the distance even further, and soon they were right behind the RV, no more than twenty meters apart.

Fang Xiaoyu frowned, did not call Wang Le to get up for the time being, and stepped on the gas to accelerate.

The car behind was clearly more powerful. The two cars drove one after the other from the middle of the road to the far left, and then from the far left to the far right.

Seeing that she couldn't shake off the other party, Fang Xiaoyu pursed her lips and took out her ultimate weapon—a bag of glass and nail-like shards—and waved it outside the window.

The other party didn't back down even when they saw the spikes modified on the rear of the RV, and ignored the junk nails completely, continuing to rush forward.

Bang--

The rear of the car was lightly grazed.

Sizzle—

The other vehicle appears to have suffered more damage.

Wang Le, who was sleeping at the back of the car, opened his eyes. His eyes were red from lack of sleep. When he noticed what was happening outside the car, a hidden anger simmered beneath his calm expression.

He quickly grabbed a kitchen knife from the kitchen, went to the window and leaned out: "Try coming up again!"

His response was yet another bump and a middle finger.

Grass (a type of plant).

Considering the presence of women, Wang Le opened his mouth and silently cursed.

He didn't actually intend to throw the cleaver, and as he pulled back, he received another middle finger.

"Hold on tight." After Fang Xiaoyu finished speaking, she slightly tilted the steering wheel, and after seeing that the front of the car behind was aligned with the rear of the car, she stepped on the brake.

Wang Le, holding onto the dining table, couldn't catch the eldest princess in time. Even with all her strength, she slid from the middle of the RV to the front, almost hitting her head.

The various small items in the RV tilted forward, then, restrained, returned to their original positions.

The car behind, feeling smug after the collision, didn't notice that its front bumper accidentally hit the rear of the RV, leaving the reinforced front bumper sandwiched between the spike rings at the rear.

They tried to brake and slow down, but couldn't break free immediately and were dragged along for a while.

Just as the rear car's bumper fell off, freeing it from its restraints, and it was about to retaliate, a meticulously modified SUV, with both its front and rear ends, suddenly appeared and swooped in from the left.

Bang--

The front of the car behind was dented, and two burly men got out, terrified and running away in a panic.

Still in shock, they jumped up and down, yelling, "Who dares to take advantage of your grandfather!"

The SUV only had a minor scratch on the paint, the body was intact. A man and a woman got out from the left and right sides, respectively. They were wearing sports vests, revealing their muscular physiques, and looked like they were not to be messed with.

The man, holding a baseball bat and standing casually, said, "Of course it's your grandpa!"

The woman held a large cleaver, twirled it a couple of times with impressive knife skills, and laughed, "And your great-aunt too."

The two burly men immediately chickened out, so two professionals came instead.

They were evenly matched in weaponry, and their muscles were the result of gym workouts. They were definitely no match for each other in a fight and would surely suffer a loss. So they both tried to jump back into the car, but were stopped by someone.

Man: "One barrel of oil, one case of water, and two kilograms of food."

The two understood immediately. Although reluctant, they obediently carried their things down. Only then were they allowed to turn back, quickly reverse, change lanes, and accelerate, speeding away as fast as they could, afraid of being left behind.

The RV was parked not far away, and Fang Xiaoyu poked her head out and thanked them loudly.

The SUV driver responded: "You're welcome. We specialize in dealing with these people who like to cut in front of others. We'll give you a can of oil, a case of water, and 2 kilograms of food. If you don't have those, feel free to give us what you think is appropriate. We support bartering, thank you."

Fang Xiaoyu: That's quite polite... any later and I would have already taken care of it myself.

The woman in the SUV reminded, "There are women here, ask them first."

The SUV driver snapped out of his daze: "Oh, I forgot, what's your name?"

Although Fang Xiaoyu was somewhat puzzled, she still introduced herself.

Unexpectedly, right after I finished reporting, the woman in the SUV paused, "Oh, it's you." Her tone was very familiar.

The SUV driver blurted out with regret, "What a coincidence? We're not going to make money on this deal."

Fang Xiaoyu was puzzled. She racked her brains and confirmed that she had never seen two people who were so special.

She nodded to Wang Le.

Wang Le got out of the car with his belongings and asked, "Do you know her?"

"I don't know them, I only know their names." The SUV guy happily accepted the supplies and said gleefully, "Consider it a gift from you, not a payment! That way, it doesn't mean we broke our promise."

The SUV girls were unappealing, but the men, short on cash, found it hard to refuse.

However, she quickly realized she could repay them in another way. So she went back to her car, retrieved a note, and handed it over: "Here. Since you still paid the fee, next time we encounter a service area, we'll prepare an extra care package as a return gift."

Wang Le glanced at it, understood, thanked her, returned to the car, and handed the note to Fang Xiaoyu.

Fang Xiaoyu saw the familiar handwriting, read the contents, and laughed: "I knew it wasn't him."

He took out a pen and added a sentence to the end of the note: I'm fine, Su Ming.

Then I took a picture with my phone as a souvenir. I plan to leave a note on the care package next time I pass by a service area.

Wang Le watched her finish doing all this silently, then couldn't resist asking out of curiosity, "Is there a story behind this?"

"You can learn from this experience," Fang Xiaoyu said, seeing his curiosity. While driving, she recounted her past experience of being drugged in the water and warned him not to assume that all convoys were good people, but to be wary.

Wang Le was a little embarrassed. He had organized a racing team before, but it was definitely not like this.

Upon hearing that her narrow escape was largely due to the eldest princess, she hugged it and rubbed its head as a reward.

Do you remember any distinguishing features of that convoy?

"I can't remember, and I didn't have much contact with the people in the convoy."

Fang Xiaoyu recalled the protection the eldest princess had shown her during her coma, the kindness of passersby, and the extra food on the ground. A smile unconsciously appeared on her face, but when she thought of Su Ming, she felt a little worried.

"I wonder if Su Ming has left yet. He should have found a way to leave by now."

"Since he was able to leave this note, it means he already knew the truth. The convoy most likely encountered an accident, and he should be free now."

"Yes, that's what I think too."
