Chapter 6 Stealing

"Little sister, why don't you go inside? What's it like standing in the yard all the time? Go in quickly to avoid being seen and gossiped by others."

Lin Ran was speechless. What could others say when she stood in her own home?

Just as he was about to retort, he caught a flash of anxiety across Wang Zhaodi's face.

What's the rush?

Lin Ran nodded calmly.

"I'm going in right now."

After saying that, he walked into the house, but stopped when he reached the window.

She looked through the window at Wang Zhaodi in the yard.

Wang Zhaodi looked at the door several times before tiptoeing into the kitchen.

After a while, he came out with a small cloth bag.

Stealing something?

Before Lin Ran could chase after her to ask clearly, Wang Zhaodi walked out with her things.

Combined with the original owner's memory, Lin Ran suspected that Wang Zhaodi was stealing things from their Lin family to subsidize her mother's family again.

It was just some food, she didn't care.

At most, I can wait for Shen Wenfang to come back and tell her.

It’s good that Wang Zhaodi is gone. Now she is the only one left at home and she can walk around freely.

My eldest brother and second brother are twins, and they even got married one after the other.

Liu Ping and her sister-in-law have only been married for a few months, so there are no children in the family yet.

After Lin Ran figured out the layout of her home, she returned to her room.

Thinking that there was still time, she decided to continue looking for books.

At this moment, Lin Laosan came back and started shouting in the yard:

"Little sister, come out quickly!"

"Look what goodies I brought you!"

Lin Ran heard the shout and hurried out.

There was a handsome young man standing in the yard. He was wearing a gray shirt and black pants. His clothes were patched and he had a shaved head.

At this moment, he was carrying a backpack and grinning at himself with a mouthful of white teeth, as if he was presenting a treasure.

Lin Ran smiled and joked:

"Third brother, you're back? What good things did you bring me?"

Lin Laosan handed over the backpack with a smile.

"Look for yourself, this is all Third Brother's hard work, you're sure to like it!"

Lin Ran stretched her head and saw that the backpack was filled with a lot of scraps of cloth.

From my memory, I know that my original self particularly liked these scraps of cloth.

Because it can be used to make hair ornaments or mend clothes.

Well, she had a new understanding of her family's poverty.

But she looked at the scraps of cloth thoughtfully.

She had been planning to make a handkerchief anyway, and now she had an excuse.

Over there, Lin Lao San was still taking credit.

"How is it? I knew you liked it. Didn't you say last time that you wanted to make a hair ornament? This time I specifically asked for scraps of cloth."

"By the way, I wasn't home yesterday. I just came back and heard that you fainted in the field. What happened? How are you now?"

"I'm fine. I'm just tired. Plus, I've been in the sun for a long time. I'll be fine after a good night's sleep."

"That's good. By the way, grandma asked me to bring these two eggs to nourish you."

"Grandma wanted to come and see you, but my cousin seemed unwell and she couldn't leave."

Lin Ran finally understood, and she asked how her third brother knew about her fainting as soon as he came back. It turned out that it was grandma who told her.

Lin Laosan handed the egg to Lin Ran reluctantly, and suddenly his eyes turned.

"Little sister, look, Third Brother worked so hard to bring you eggs. Do you want to reward him? One for each of us?"

Afraid that Lin Ran would disagree, he quickly changed his words.

"Even half of it would be fine!"

Seeing that his eyes were glued to the eggs, Lin Ran chuckled.

She didn't care about an egg, but thinking of her mother, she said:

"Let's fry it and eat together in the evening."

Lin Laosan paused and immediately agreed, not forgetting to flatter Lin Ran.

"As expected of my little sister! She's so filial!"
