Chapter 282 The First Plane Transaction

By night, little Youzi was already snoring, and Hua Wanchi couldn't wait to enter the space.

"Ancestor, here I come!"

Kong Miao appeared: "Are you ready?"

Hua Wanchi was very sure: "I'm ready!"

Kong Miao waved his large, flowing sleeves, and Hua Wanchi's eyes blurred before he found himself standing on a quaint street.

People were coming and going on the street. Some of them were skinny and ragged, yet still carrying things. Others were dressed in gorgeous clothes, walking with a swaying step, looking relaxed and leisurely.

Hua Wanchi turned around and looked at the surrounding buildings. They were not too gorgeous, but the structure was very delicate. The appearance was a little faded, and it looked very simple.

She looked at the clothes of the people on the street and had a guess: "Is this... ancient times?"

A hollow voice rang out: "This is a dynasty from a certain historical period in a parallel world. You can trade freely here. The trading period is one month, but in the real world, only one night will pass."

Hua Wanchi thought for a moment and said, "So, I'm going to stay here for a month, and any deal is fine with me."

"That's right."

Hua Wanchi was at a loss for words and didn't know what to trade.

Without any thoughts for the moment, she just followed the flow of people and strolled along the street.

The streets were paved with cobblestones and were relatively clean and flat, with various shops on both sides.

There are wine shops, tea houses, restaurants and food stalls.

Arriving in front of the gate of a house with an imposing sign, Hua Wanchi took a look inside and saw that it was full of women, twisting their slender jade fingers and looking at the hairpins on their hands with smiles on their faces.

There are many wooden trays on the shelves, and hairpins are neatly arranged on the trays, ranging from copper to gold.

A woman in green clothes smiled and said, "Sister, look, the pattern on this hairpin is really beautiful!"

"Since you like it, and I think it's good, buy it."

As she spoke, the girl called Ajie in a haughty tone and called the shopkeeper over to settle the bill.

"Miss, this hairpin costs 25 taels of silver."

Hua Wanchi took a quick look and found that the ancient carvings were indeed good, but the colors of these jewelry were dark and did not look very good.

There is no need to rush the transaction. Just exchange some silver and experience ancient life first.

With this in mind, Hua Wanchi walked into the silver shop, cleared his throat, and called out, "Is the shopkeeper here?"

The shopkeeper turned around and saw a handsome young man whose clothes were not made of fancy fabrics but had no patches and were dressed decently. For a moment, he was not sure what he was going to buy.

So he smiled and said, "Sir, are you going to buy some jewelry for the women in your family?"

Hua Wanchi lifted up her cumbersome wide sleeves, and on her fair and tender palms lay a pair of green jade pendants, the color was rich and the water content was also quite good.

"Can your silver shop accept this item?"

The shopkeeper's eyes lit up immediately when he saw it. He picked up the jade pendant and looked at it carefully again, then looked at Hua Wanchi and said:

"This is a good thing. How much would it cost for you to part with it?"

Although jade pendants are not the main focus of silver shops, there is a large market for high-quality jade pendants, which are the favorites of the dignitaries.

It is rare to see a jade pendant with such good color and water content. The shopkeeper estimated that there is money to be made from this thing. If someone finds one that suits his taste, he can make a lot of money.

Hua Wanchi seemed to be thinking about something, then said, "Just make an offer, and I'll see if the price suits my taste."

The shopkeeper tentatively quoted a price: "500 taels."

Hua Wanchi thought about it and decided that 500 taels of silver would be more than enough to live on for a month, no matter which dynasty it was.

But she wanted to try to sell it for a higher price, so she calmly raised the price: "1,000 taels, I won't sell it for less than this. Shopkeeper, don't think I'm young and easy to cheat by deliberately lowering the price."

The shopkeeper smiled and said, "As you wish, young master, I'll take the 1,000 taels of silver."

Hua Wanchi: Oops, the price was too low.

But it’s all small matters, she has plenty of money!

Hua Wanchi started strolling around the city with 1,000 taels of silver in his pocket. As for the problem of not being able to carry the money, there was no need to worry at all because there was plenty of space!

"Hey, kid! Come here!"

Hua Wanchi shook the maltose in his hand, smiling kindly. When the little girl came over curiously, Hua Wanchi asked, "Little girl, do you know where I can rent a house?"

The little girl bit her finger in confusion for a moment: "How about I take you to find my mother, she will definitely know."

Hua Wanchi gave her a piece of candy. The little girl thanked him, took a lick of the candy, and put it in her pocket.

"I'll take you to find my mother!" said the little girl, and ran forward.

Hua Wanchi followed the little girl through the alleys. The clean cobblestone road slowly turned into a dirt road. Now that the weather was clear, a cloud of dust was raised as they walked past.

They passed many houses along the way. The little girl stopped in front of one of them. A shed filled with dry firewood obscured the open broken wooden door. Her childish voice penetrated the house:

"Mom! Mom!" the little girl cried for her mother.

Soon, a young woman came out, muttering:

"Why are you calling me?"

Seeing Hua Wanchi, this clean and handsome young man, the child's mother was stunned for a moment, then said a little stiffly:

"Sir, what brings you to this shabby place of ours?"

Hua Wanchi didn't feel uncomfortable at all for having rashly entered this place where she didn't fit in. Who cares? It was all an experience!

She smiled and said, "Greetings, Madam. I just arrived here and am not familiar with the place, so I wanted to find someone to show me around. This little girl led me here."

The woman turned her gaze to the little girl, her eyebrows raised, and scolded her, "You naughty child, all you know is to lead the way blindly!"

"Young Master, please call me Wang Sao. This is my ignorant girl, Aya."

Ah Ya didn't have so many concerns and said directly: "Mom, he wants to rent a house!"

Hua Wanchi's smiling face was as usual, but Mrs. Wang was a little embarrassed.

"Sir, Aya is ignorant and embarrassed."

"No problem," Hua Wanchi thought these ancient people were quite interesting. "Sorry to bother you, Sister Wang will show you the way."

Mrs. Wang breathed a sigh of relief and gestured to point the way: "The rental agency is right there."

Hua Wanchi took out a piece of silver, put it in Aya's hand and said goodbye.

It can be seen that Mrs. Wang does not seem to want to get too close to her, perhaps because of the different class, or perhaps because she is wary of strangers.

But, that little girl named Aya is still very cute.

Hua Wanchi rented a courtyard at the pawnshop for two taels of silver. There were flowers, grass, and a well in the courtyard. It was next to the street and the location was quite good.

As for why I didn’t stay in an inn or live directly in a space, of course it was because I wanted to experience the courtyards where ordinary people lived in ancient times!

Hua Wanchi tidied up the room and prepared to go out for some more shopping to see if there was anything worth buying.

As soon as she went out, she saw a middle-aged woman looking at her.
