Chapter 33 Flaw

Hua Xuguo acted as if nothing had happened and tried to smooth things over politely:

"Dad, you haven't eaten yet, right? Hurry up and ask Aunt Qian and the others to come over for dinner. We've left some food at home."

After seeing Zhou Yujiao's ugly face, Old Man Zhou sighed and left with the children, leaving a few words before leaving.

"We've been at the banquet. We have some watermelons growing at home, and we picked a few and sent them over. They're already in your main room."

Zhou Yujiao's expression became complicated for a moment, but soon turned cold again.

Her father is always willing to pay some small amount of money to appeal to her feelings, but when it comes to important matters, he doesn't care at all.

By this time, all the dishes on the table had been served. Father Zhou had grabbed all the dishes on the table before coming to see Hua Wanchi. After all, compared to seeing his granddaughter, eating was definitely more important.

So the work in the kitchen was not so busy, and Zhou Yujiao had time to get away.

God knows how angry she was on the way here, fearing that her family would cause trouble at this critical moment.

If someone's happy event is ruined by her family, then she, as the aunt, really doesn't know how to live her life.

Fortunately, Old Man Zhou is a soft-hearted person. Although he can't do many good things, he hasn't done anything really bad either.

Seeing Old Man Zhou leave, Zhou Yujiao breathed a sigh of relief.

To be fair, although she hated her stepmother, she also understood her thoughts to some extent. If she were in her stepmother's position, she might not be able to do better.

For the sake of her daughter, a mother can be hated by others. This is just the selfishness of a mother.

What she hated most was her own father. After all, a stepmother didn't have to be responsible for her, but she was her father's biological daughter!

He did nothing when faced with his daughter's grievances, and pushed her affairs to his stepmother to deal with. He thought everything was fine as long as he was comfortable, and he ignored everything else.

It can be said that he is selfish and incompetent to the extreme. Zhou Yujiao has always looked down on her father since she was a child.

Most men like her father are unwilling to pay.

Do some insignificant things and say some affectionate words to show that you have a place in his heart and he wants you to be grateful to him.

You get what you give. Nothing in this world is as good as her father thinks.

So Zhou Yujiao doesn't completely ignore her father, but don't expect her to care too much about him either.

Zhou Yujiao looked in the direction where Old Man Zhou left and said, "He's a person who tends to bully the weak and fear the strong. There's no need to be so polite to him in the future."

Hua Xuguo responded, but it was impossible for him to be really unpleasant to his father-in-law.

The daughter-in-law has not completely broken with her parents' family. If he treats her in-laws badly, he would be humiliating her.

His wife doesn't care, but he does.

After all, they are not very close relatives and we don’t interact much, so there is nothing wrong with being polite on the surface.

If you look good on your face, everyone will be fine.

Hua Wanchi was eating melon beside her. The tears in her eyes had dried up long ago. The awful relative she had seen in the novel before actually appeared alive!

Seeing that his daughter was not crying but laughing, Hua Xuguo felt surprised and teased Hua Wanchi for a while. Hua Wanchi cooperated and made funny expressions to make her old father laugh.

Zhou Yujiao brought her daughter over and said to Hua Wanyan:

"Yanyan, you've worked hard looking after your sister. You and your second uncle should go have dinner. The delicious dishes are all reserved for you. I've already eaten and am now going to feed Chi Chi."

Hua Wanyan looked at her sister in surprise. She was still wondering in her heart whether her sister was a fairy.

Before I could figure it out, my second uncle took me to the kitchen, and my second uncle laughed heartily.

"Let's go, let's go have a good meal with Uncle!"

When they arrived at the kitchen, Hua Xuguo asked Hua Wanyan to serve herself some rice and pulled her mother to the corner.

"mom!"

Hua Xuguo's voice was quiet, as if he was plotting something.

Wan Qingliu rolled his eyes at him and said unhappily:

"What's the matter?"

Hua Xuguo's next words made Wan Qingliu break out in a cold sweat.

"Mom, do you have any magic?"

Wan Qingliu was sweating profusely, but he maintained a disgusted expression and asked indifferently:

"What immortal technique? Do you think your mother is going to become an immortal?"

Hua Xuguo looked as if he understood everything, stretched out his hand, and there was a strawberry lying in his palm.

"Mom, you don't have to tell me, I understand. Where can you find such beautiful fruit in the mortal world? This must be the fairy fruit you picked in the fairyland, right?"

Wan Qingliu knew at a glance that it was another masterpiece of Hua Wanchi.

When she was reselling things between the two worlds, in order to make the things look more reasonable and to maximize the use of the money she had, she usually bought things that could be seen and used in this era.

She never touched things like strawberries, which were flashy, expensive, and not essential. It was Hua Wanchi who would release something like this, something that tasted good, wasn't too filling, and was meant to satisfy her cravings.

Previously, she could help cover it up, but today the timing was unlucky and the cunning second brother discovered the flaw.

Wan Qingliu remained calm:

"Country bumpkin, this thing is called a strawberry. It's only grown in the north of the country. It was brought here by the old Su people. The yield is small, so it hasn't spread widely. It grows properly on the ground! Where can it be called a magical fruit?"

Coincidentally, she had the opportunity to learn about strawberries at this time, and now she finally had the opportunity to show her talents.

In later generations, strawberries blossomed everywhere. Due to the large production, they were once sold cheaply in the streets and alleys, and then they were reduced to the same status as the watermelons and oranges that were pulled to the street stalls in carts. Wan Qingliu bought and ate many of the bright red ones.
