Chapter 41 Cooking without washing dishes

Chen Yun said that lending a hand was no small matter.

Several people stood at the kitchen door, staring at the gas tank in silence for a long time.

After busying around for a long time, something went wrong. There was no gas in the village, and we hadn't bought an induction cooker. There was no gas in the gas tank. We had bought the pot, but how could we cook without gas?

There were so many things going on today, and no one really blamed Chen Yun for his negligence.

Seeing that the others were not in high spirits, Qi Huan couldn't help but continue to criticize them, "I just asked the production team about the gas, and they told us to handle it ourselves."

All my money has been spent, and there is no money left for gas.

Xia Yan stared at Chen Yun with a grim expression and said grimly, "Our little money-saving expert, tell me, how can we remedy this?"

It wasn't like there was no solution. Chen Yun walked in and patted the stove, which felt smooth to the touch. He looked up and saw dust on his hands. He sighed and said, "Everyone, look here. There's a clay pot here. We can use this to cook."

Cheyenne: Silent.

Fu An: Both of them were silent.

Qi Huan: Three faces of silence.

Chen Yun made the final decision, "We have big pots and small pots here, use whichever you like!"

The kitchen is not big and it is a bit crowded for four people to enter.

Chen Yun suggested dividing the group into groups: one group would cook, and the other would clean up the leftovers.

"Come on, black and white, it's fate whoever is in the same group with whom! Let's make a deal first, the person who cooks doesn't wash the dishes."

So, the four of them formed a circle outside the kitchen.

Chen Yun really likes to form a team with Fu An. After all, he has a good temper and a quick mind, so no one needs to bother talking to him.

"Black and white~match!"

Three blacks and one white, a round with no result.

“Black and white!”

Two black and two white.

There were two slender hands, one black and one white. Chen Yun looked up along the broad palms and saw someone with a similarly depressed look on his face.

The people you least want to be together with.

Chen Yun had a two-thirds chance of getting what he wanted, but the result was not as expected.

"I think it's okay to divide it into three groups..." Chen Yun's previous words were too confident, and now he felt a little embarrassed.

Fu An silently took a step closer to Qi Huan and made his attitude clear, "What is meant to come is fate."

"You're trying to exclude me, right?" After saying that, Xia Yan shot a cold glare at Chen Yun. He didn't want to be in the same group with Chen Yun, a woman with a dominant desire.

"Oh, why would you think that? I'm excluding myself."

Actually, Xia Yan wasn't bad, but he was just too talkative. He was a young master from a certain family who had been so used to having everything provided for him that he didn't even understand the most basic common sense.

Her lips are almost worn out from talking so much.

Unlike the other two who were disgusted with each other, Qi Huan was very satisfied with the current grouping. As long as he didn't work with Xia Yan, the air felt much fresher.

Afraid they might pay attention to other things, I couldn't wait to say, "It's really late, let's get started."

Firewood is needed to cook in the earthen pot, so the production team did not push them too hard and kindly borrowed a bag of corn cobs from the villagers.

Scrubbing the pots and washing the vegetables, everything went smoothly.

The dishes prepared for the evening were home-cooked dishes, shredded potatoes, stir-fried pork with beans, scrambled eggs with chili peppers, braised tofu, and an egg soup.

Chen Yun had cooked before, so he was a natural with a knife. The food wasn't as good as restaurant food, but at least it was edible. He didn't dare let Xia Yan use the knife; eating his finger was a serious matter. Xia Yan was also tactful, taking the initiative to find a small stool and sit in front of the pot.

Fu An and the others continued to clean up.

After Chen Yun finished chopping the vegetables, there was still no movement from Xia Yan's end.

"My brother, are you asleep?"

Xia Yan lay in front of the pot door and stared at the corn cob. "Can't you find some dry firewood to burn? How do you light this thing? I've never seen it before." He stood up and walked out.

Why are you still angry? If you can't light it, then you can't light it. Which young man's self-esteem is hurt?

Seeing that everyone had left, Chen Yun took the initiative to come to the door of the pot. There was a small black mark on the stick.

He is a great man, and no one else can defeat him. He is so awesome!

The small flame gradually burned and smoke slowly drifted out.

It was getting a little dark at six o'clock. The incandescent lights were on in the kitchen, and the dishes to be fried were placed on the chopping board.

Xia Yan took off his coat, hid aside to smoke a cigarette, and then slowly walked into the kitchen.

The fire at the bottom of the pot has started.

"I……"

"You're welcome, it's a piece of cake. Help me cook some food later."

Cheyenne:?

The pork belly in the pot was sizzling. It was cut neither too thin nor too thick. The aroma of the meat filled the entire kitchen. Xia Yan smelled it and suddenly felt hungry.

Chen Yun asking Xia Yan to cook is not a joke, cooking is about participation.

"It's up to you. You can put the chili first, or the egg first. The most important thing is to put the oil first."

"Cough cough!" After the peppers were put into the pot, the spicy smell rushed into Xia Yan's nose, and he kept coughing because of the choking.

There is only one window in the kitchen and not even a range hood. The smoke can only go through the chimney and cannot be sucked away at once, so the smoke floats everywhere.

"Turn it over twice with a shovel."

"Put the eggs in."

“…”

Following the rhythm of Shen Yun's prompts, Xia Yan successfully made a dish, and was so proud that he wanted to try it again.

Forget the embarrassment of being choked.

"I admire people with strong learning ability. You really learn things quickly. So I'll give you a chance to be the chef tomorrow. Now I'll make two more dishes, and you can make a soup later." Chen Yun saw the slightly blackened scrambled eggs with green peppers on the table. He couldn't discourage him at this time, nor could he follow his whim.

The scrambled eggs with green peppers were a bit spicy, but she could still eat a couple of bites. Shredded potatoes, while easy to make, wouldn't taste good if the heat wasn't right. Braised tofu was even worse; she was afraid it would crumble into crumbs.

"That's fine." Xia Yan nodded, and sat back in front of the pot with satisfaction, continuing to fiddle with the fire.
