Chapter 128 Xia Ke's Rumors

Early the next morning.

During working hours, Xia Ke took the elevator to the Department of Cardiology as usual.

As soon as I got out of the elevator, I noticed something strange.

Several nurses gathered together, whispering to each other, their eyes drifting towards her from time to time.

There were also a few suppressed chuckles.

Several doctors nearby were also discussing in low voices.

Seeing Xia Ke coming over, he stopped talking.

Those looks are somewhat difficult to understand.

There is sympathy and there is schadenfreude.

More of an examination.

Xia Ke frowned, having a bad feeling.

She walked straight to her desk before she could even sit down.

I heard a deliberately suppressed voice coming from behind me.

But, she could hear it clearly.

"Have you heard? Xia Ke and President Han have broken up."

"That's what I was saying. How could she possibly be with such a big shot for so long?"

"Well, he must have gotten tired of playing and was abandoned."

"Yeah, before, seeing her so proud and happy every day, I thought I could really fly up to the tree and become a phoenix.

Unable to conceal the gloating.

And there is sarcasm.

Xia Ke was so angry that her whole body was shaking.

Unexpectedly, the former "good sisters" have become so strangers now.

The words he said were even more vicious.

Xia Ke turned her head and looked at the two nurses who were talking, her eyes cold.

"Is it fun to talk about people behind their backs?"

The two nurses were caught in the act, but they were not at all panicked, instead they became even more sarcastic.

"What? You've done it, and you're still afraid of what people will say?"

"Yes, everyone knows that you and President Han are not from the same world. Breaking up is only a matter of time."

These words sound so reasonable.

But Xia Ke's heart still felt like it was being pricked by needles, and it was aching.

Just then, the head nurse came over.

With a gloomy expression, he glanced at everyone and said sternly, "Don't you all have to work? What's the point of chattering here?"

Only then did everyone reluctantly disperse and return to their respective posts.

Xia Ke sat down, her eyelashes drooping, hiding the sinister look in her eyes.

When I think about it, from today on, I don’t know when I’ll hear these damn rumors again.

I felt a little irritated.

Xia Ke was absent-minded the whole morning.

Han Jingchen's series of actions yesterday left her completely confused.

I was so focused on being sad that I didn't think about anything else.

Now, my head is clear.

The scene in the video where Xia Mantun was taken away by the police filled her with deep fear.

Thinking about this man, he might betray her.

I felt a little scared.

Xia Ke sat at her desk, staring at the computer screen, but couldn't concentrate on anything.

He reached out to grab the water cup on the table, but accidentally touched a pile of medical records. With a "crash", the medical records scattered all over the floor.

The colleague next to her glanced at her impatiently and muttered, "Can you please pay attention? This is the nth time this has happened."

Xia Ke's face flushed and she quickly bent down to pick it up.

Just stood up.

The head nurse stopped her and said, "Doctor Xia, take a look at the prescription you wrote. You even got the dosage wrong? If this is carried out, there will be big problems!"

The head nurse frowned and slammed the medical order sheet on the table.

Xia Ke looked down and her heart skipped a beat.

Full of regret.

He stammered, "I...I'll change it right away."

Before I could recover, the phone rang.

A colleague picked up the phone and yelled at her with a grim expression, "Doctor Xia, why haven't the tests you just arranged been entered into the system? The patient is waiting over there for the test, and now everything is a mess!"

Xia Ke ran over in a panic and frantically searched for records on the computer.

Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.

The more anxious she became, the harder it was to find the problem, and her fingers trembled on the keyboard.

"Are you even capable of this? You can't even do this!"

My colleagues were complaining, their eyes full of doubt.

Just then, Director Xie came over with a gloomy face.

"Doctor Xia, follow me to the office!"

As soon as he entered the office, Director Xie slammed the door shut.

He walked to the desk, turned around abruptly, and slammed his hands on the table.

The documents on the table began to tremble.

"Look at what you've done today! You wrote the wrong order and didn't enter the test items. Do you take your job seriously? This is a hospital, is it a place where mistakes can be made?"

Director Xie glared at her, his eyes full of anger.

Xia Ke lowered her head, her hands rubbing the hem of her clothes nervously, her voice trembling, "Director, I...I was wrong. I didn't pay attention."

Director Xie looked at her like this, was silent for a moment, then pulled over a chair and sat down.

His tone softened slightly, "It's being rumored that you and Mr. Han broke up. Is that true?"

Xia Ke's body stiffened, her lips tightly closed, she didn't say anything, but just nodded slightly.

It's the default.

"Alas, young man, love affairs are bound to have their ups and downs. But it shouldn't affect your work. You have to cheer up. There are many people in the hospital who are gossipy. Stand up for yourself and don't let others look down on you."

As he spoke, he reached out and patted Xia Ke's shoulder.

These words sound like concern.

But Xia Ke understood that the director, like those people outside, was waiting to laugh at her.

The so-called comfort is just a pretense.

It's more of a perfunctory attitude.

Director Xie said a few more irrelevant words and then waved his hand.

"Okay, go out, work hard, and don't cause any more trouble."

Just as Xia Ke turned to leave, Director Xie spoke again.

"I have a dinner party tonight, I'll take you with me."
