The whole floor erupted in cheers.
Gu Youran looked at her husband in surprise. The latter had already stood up to help her pick up the pens and scattered autographed photos.
When passing by the girl wearing glasses, Shi Heng suddenly stopped and said, "Your work ID."
The girl frantically pulled out her work badge. Shi Heng took it and drew a star on it: "This gives you priority this afternoon."
Under everyone's envious gaze, Shi Heng put his arm around Gu Youran's shoulders and walked out of the meeting room.
Behind me came the excited chatter of the employees:
"Mr. Shi is so gentle today!"
"I want to give up this work permit!"
"Hurry, hurry, go to the cafeteria, finish your meal, and come back to line up!"
…
Office of the President of Shi Group.
On the coffee table were seven or eight exquisite lunch boxes sent by Yunshanzhai.
Among them, the Angelica and Black Chicken Soup was fragrant, and next to it was a bowl of red dates and bird's nest that was still steaming. This was what Shi Heng ordered specially for Gu Youran.
"Drink the soup first." Shi Heng reminded.
"hiss--"
Gu Youran reached out to take it, and gasped as her fingertips touched the handle of the spoon.
Two hours of continuous signing had caused her right wrist to tremble slightly, and her knuckles were faintly red.
Shi Heng's eyes darkened and he sat down next to her.
He scooped up a spoonful of hot soup neatly and handed it to her lips steadily, "Open your mouth."
"I myself..."
Gu Youran was about to refuse when the warm spoon touched her lower lip.
She raised her eyes and met Shi Heng's deep gaze, which was gentle but irresistible.
Gu Youran felt a slight heat on the tips of her ears, so she had no choice but to open her mouth obediently.
Shi Heng took one spoonful after another, neither hurried nor slow.
When the black chicken soup was finished, he picked up the bird's nest, carefully skimmed off the foam on the surface, and continued to feed her patiently.
Watching Gu Youran finish the last sip.
He then picked up his portion and began to eat slowly.
Just as he put down his chopsticks, Shi Heng's cell phone suddenly vibrated on the coffee table.
The screen lit up, and a pop-up message from Assistant Qin appeared:
【Emergency Report】
The 36 engineers from the Technical Department have lined up in the 18th-floor conference room, all holding signature pads.
Pictured: A neatly organized square of programmers.
The front row held up an LED sign: "Seeking Lenna's favor."
“Puff—”
Gu Youran tilted her head to glance at the screen, and laughed so hard that her shoulders shook.
"You, the employees of Shi's..."
She tapped the photo of a male programmer wearing a cat-ear headband. "How come he's even crazier than my fans?"
Before he could finish his words, the world suddenly spun around.
"Ah Heng!" She subconsciously grabbed Shi Heng's striped tie, causing several wrinkles on the silk fabric.
The man seemed unaware and held her firmly in his arms.
Shi Heng walked towards the lounge with long legs, "You have wrist strain and need to stay in bed for an hour."
He deliberately glanced at his watch. "It's 12:47 now, expected release at 14:05."
"You are illegally detaining me..."
Before Gu Youran could finish her protest, she was gently thrown onto the big bed in the lounge.
She struggled to get up, but Shi Heng pressed a finger between her eyebrows.
"If you move again, I'll change it to three o'clock. I mean what I say."
Gu Youran immediately closed her eyes obediently.
In a daze, she felt someone gently massaging her sore fingers.
The warm palms wrapped around her joints with just the right amount of strength.
At exactly two o'clock, Shi Heng's cell phone alarm rang.
Gu Youran was dazed and felt someone whisper in her ear: "Youbao, it's time to go pamper your fans."
Then, a kiss with the scent of green wood landed on her brow.
Ten minutes later.
The elevator door opened on the 18th floor, and the scene in front of them made Shi Heng and Gu Youran pause.
There were more than twice as many people in the corridor as in the morning, and every employee had a handwritten number tag on his chest.
"Three, two, one—"
I don't know who started it, but hundreds of people suddenly shouted in unison: "Thank you, Mr. Shi! Thank you, Mrs. Shi!"
During the signing process, Shi Heng kept making "little movements".
Sometimes he handed Gu Youran some throat-soothing tea, and sometimes he used a wet towel to wipe the thin layer of sweat from her forehead.
The most outrageous thing was that when Gu Youran was signing for a female employee, he suddenly put his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder and said, "The blessing is written wrong."
His slender fingers covered the back of her hand, guiding her to rewrite it stroke by stroke.
"Boss Shi," the female employee whose autograph was being asked dared to tease, "It's hard for us to concentrate on getting your signature like that."
Shi Heng moved half an inch closer to Gu Youran without changing his expression.
"Then take a few more glances. It's too late to wait."
The whole floor was filled with good-natured heckling.
Gu Youran drew a heart on the tip of her ears, which turned red.
A tiny "H" quietly appeared in the lower right corner of the full heart.
She outlined the first letter of Shi Heng's last name with gold powder.
No one noticed that Shi Heng, who was standing next to him, was looking at the heart with a triumphant smile on his face.
…
Eight o'clock in the evening.
In the study of Shi Heng's villa, Gu Youran sat quietly at the desk.
The cold light of the laptop illuminated her slightly pale face.
The screen displays the script document for "Between the Strings."
She has read the entire script five times.
The script tells the story of a little girl:
When she was five years old, the little girl was adopted from an orphanage by a young couple.
They both like rock music, the boy is a guitarist and the girl is a rock singer.
The little girl's adoptive father always liked to improvise on the old guitar late at night, and her adoptive mother's hoarse voice always made people excited.
On her seventh birthday, she was carried onto the dazzlingly lit stage, and the cheers of the audience drowned out her tender and trembling singing voice.
