Chapter 319 No Matter What, I Won’t Leave Shi Heng

Gu Youran took a deep breath. Three months was a tight time, but it was enough for her to complete this long-overdue farewell.

She remembered a sentence her adoptive father often said when he was alive.

The best music is often created when deadlines are approaching.

"no problem."

Gu Youran's voice was soft but firm, "I will finish the final draft before filming starts."

Her fingers tapped unconsciously on her thighs.

It was as if I had already heard it, and the unfinished melody was gradually taking shape in my mind.

Yunye and Cen Su looked at each other and breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.

Cen Su stood up and said, "It's settled then. See you at Shiguang Bookstore at 2:00 PM next Monday."

She suddenly grinned, revealing her signature fangs. "I hope to hear a perfect finale by then."

After Cen Su left, Gu Youran closed the door and turned to look at Yun Ye.

"I have a question for you. The script describes the scene where I was robbed in front of the bookstore. Why are the details exactly the same as I remember? I think I'm the only one who knows this."

Yunye took a sip of coffee with a relaxed look on his face. "It's just a coincidence. I've seen something similar when I was studying abroad."

"The script requires an encounter scene, and a bookstore is perfect for it. As for bag snatching, it's quite common abroad."

Gu Youran stared at Yun Ye for a few seconds, trying to see something from his face.

But Yunye's expression was very natural, without any flaws.

"Is that really all?"

"What else?"

Yunye smiled and said, "If you think this is too coincidental, we can change the scene of our encounter."

Gu Youran shook her head slightly and didn't ask any further questions.

But I always felt something was wrong, like something was being hidden.

When she walked out of the building, she felt a tightness in her chest, as if a huge rock was pressing on her, and she couldn't even breathe smoothly.

As soon as I got into the car, my phone suddenly vibrated.

She looked down and saw it was a completely unfamiliar number.

"Hello?"

She hesitated before answering the phone.

"It's me, Han Jingchen."

The voice she once knew well came from the other end of the line, but now it sounded a little tired.

"I'm in the capital and want to meet you."

When Gu Youran heard it was him, her fingers unconsciously clenched the phone.

She was about to refuse, but Han Jingchen hurriedly added: "I have something very important to tell you in person. It's about you and Shi Heng."

Gu Youran looked at her watch and it was almost noon.

She thought for a moment and said, "Then let's meet at the 'Clouds' restaurant across from Xingyao Entertainment."

Then he hung up the phone.

Only then did I realize that a thin layer of sweat had appeared on the palms of my hands without me noticing.

Zhuoran, who was in the driver's seat, looked at her through the rearview mirror.

"Doctor Gu, do you need me to go with you?"

"Yeah, okay." Gu Youran nodded.

She felt her heart beating faster, thump thump, as if she had a premonition that something was about to happen.

She rolled down the car window, letting the cold winter wind blow into the car and take away the inexplicable feeling of depression.

Half an hour later, Gu Youran was sitting in a booth in the corner of the restaurant.

The Yunshang Restaurant is decorated magnificently, and the warm yellow light reflected by the crystal chandeliers is supposed to make people relax.

But in Gu Youran's eyes, every ray of light seemed dazzling.

She rubbed her temple subconsciously.

Zhuoran was sitting at the next table, holding a menu and pretending to flip through it, but in fact he would glance over here every few seconds.

She deliberately chose a position with her back against a pillar, which allowed her to hide herself while also having a clear view of what was happening on Gu Youran's side.

The glass door of the restaurant was pushed open, bringing in a gust of cold wind.

Gu Youran looked up and saw Han Jingchen walking hurriedly towards him wrapped in a black coat.

I almost didn't recognize him.

The elegant man in my memory is now surprisingly thin.

The coat looked empty on him and his face was a little pale.

The two dark spots under his eyes were particularly noticeable, as if he hadn't had a good sleep for a long time.

"What would you like to eat?"

Han Jingchen sat down opposite her, his voice even hoarser than on the phone.

"casual."

Gu Youran was a little absent-minded.

Han Jingchen waved for the waiter and skillfully ordered steamed sea bass, baby cabbage in soup, and crab meat tofu...

They were all her favorite foods in the past.

The waiter took down the menu and left.

He asked softly, "Are you and Shi Heng... okay?"

"We're fine." Gu Youran raised her eyes and looked straight at him. "What do you want to say?"

"Let's eat first."

Han Jingchen smiled bitterly, "Things are more complicated."

Just then, Gu Youran's cell phone rang.

She looked down and saw that it was Shi Heng calling.

"Hello?"

There was a tenderness in her voice that she herself was not aware of.

"Youbao, where are you?"

"I'm having dinner at the Cloud Restaurant. It's across from Xingyao Entertainment Company."

"When will you be back? Do you need me to pick you up?"

"No, I'll be back as soon as I'm done eating. About an hour later."

"Okay, be careful on the road." Shi Heng paused, "I'll wait for you."

After hanging up the phone, Gu Youran looked up and met Han Jingchen's complicated gaze.

The light in his eyes seemed to dim at this moment.

The waiters brought the dishes one after another. Han Jingchen picked up the serving chopsticks, carefully picked up a piece of the tenderest fish belly for her, and poured her a bowl of hot soup.

Gu Youran watched his movements and suddenly remembered that three years ago, she took care of him like this every time they had a meal.

Remind him to eat on time, pick up food for him and serve him soup.
