Chapter 354 Bai Xiangning's "Seven-Day Sacrifice"

Gu Youran's fingers gently stroked the row of dark purple perfume bottles.

She picked up the first bottle of "Unsent Letters."

The bottle was cold, with fine water droplets condensing on the glass, like the traces of a love letter soaked in tears and then dried in the wind.

The moment you press the nozzle, the fragrance of gentian flowers mixed with the bitterness of old ink fills the air, as if you were opening a letter that had been sealed for years.

The liquid in the second bottle of "Kiss of Thorns" was as viscous as blood, and when it gushed out, it actually pulled out a few wisps of dark red mist in the air.

The pungent smell of black pepper made Gu Youran's eyes red, and her throat felt like it was scratched by tiny thorns, and she couldn't help coughing lightly.

"Youbao, I want to eat tonight..."

The sound of Shi Heng pushing the door open stopped abruptly.

He froze in place, his eyes fixed on the row of perfumes, "Who sent this?"

Gu Youran did not answer, but raised the third bottle of "Withered Oath".

There are tiny petals at the bottom of the bottle. When you shake it gently, withered gentian mixed with rotten sandalwood slowly overflows, like a bouquet that was crushed at a wedding, sweet but with a rotten smell.

"Bai Xiangning!"

Shi Heng snatched the perfume bottle, his knuckles turning white from the force, "How dare she imitate ours..."

Gu Youran didn't answer. She picked up the fourth bottle of "Expired Fairy Tale" and sprayed it lightly on his tie.

The liquid was a strange milky white color, and the moment it was sprayed out it condensed into tiny flocs.

The fermented scent of gentian flowers is mixed with the smell of moldy book pages, like a fairy tale book that has been placed in a damp attic for ten years.

"What's the rush?"

She picked up the fifth bottle of "Masquerade".

The metal nozzle was as cold as ice, and the mist it sprayed out was a dark red like rust. The scent of gentian and cold iron intertwined, like a mask taken off after a dance, with dried blood inside.

Shi Heng's expression became increasingly ugly.

Gu Youran picked up the sixth bottle of "Faded Heartbeat", which was almost tasteless.

The liquid is as transparent as water, but it evaporates quickly when sprayed on the skin, leaving only a stinging coolness, like an important person in memory, who clearly existed but not even a scent is left.

Finally, there is the dark red "betrayer".

The bottle is carved with thorn patterns, and it feels slightly hot when your fingertips touch it.

The aroma of strong liquor exploded in the air, like a cup of poisoned wine being overturned. It was sweet with a corrosive burning sensation, making even breathing painful.

Gu Youran shook the bottle. "This isn't an imitation. Bai Xiangning sent it specifically to mock you with 'Seven Days of Beautiful Dreams'."

Shi Heng grabbed her wrist and asked, "What's there to be sarcastic about?"

Gu Youran counted on her fingers, "'Unsent Letter' says you're insincere, 'Kiss of Thorns' says you're two-faced, 'Withered Oath'..."

Before she could finish her words, Shi Heng lowered his head and sealed her lips.

After the kiss ended, he pressed his forehead against hers and gritted his teeth, "That woman is simply a lunatic."

Shi Heng threw the "traitor" into the trash can.

"Her perfume is bitter, and mine is sweet, because..."

He leaned close to her ear and said, "I think of you every day."

Gu Youran's phone suddenly vibrated, and a news push appeared on the screen:

[Exclusive: Bai Xiangning, the chief perfumer of "Mirror Fragrance" in Country Y, will soon return with the "Seven Days Festival" series, with the first stop being the Beijing market in China]

Shi Heng glanced at her, turned off his phone, and whispered in her ear, "This time I'm going to tune the eighth one—Eternity."

The warm breath made her ears burn. "Tonight, we're remaking 'Seven Days of Dreams'."

"Shi Heng!"

Gu Youran blushed and lightly hit his chest, but he smiled and held her in his arms.

7:50 the next morning.

Gu Youran stood in the backyard of Kangrui Hospital, looking up at the brand new two-story building.

"This was specially built by Mr. Shi while you were unconscious."

Zhuoran stood beside her and explained, "I personally supervised the entire process from site selection to construction. The exterior walls are made of military-grade bulletproof glass, and entry and exit require dual authentication of fingerprint and iris."

As she spoke, she walked quickly forward, and the heavy security door slowly opened with the recognition sound.

"The security system was upgraded again last night."

Zhuoran turned around and smiled, "Don't even a mosquito think of sneaking in now."

A warm feeling surged in Gu Youran's heart.

Shi Heng is always like this, considering every detail meticulously.

She took out her phone and sent a message:

Thank you, husband.

The message was immediately shown as read and a reply popped up on the screen:

"Be good, there's a heart rate monitor in the clinic. If I find your pulse is over 110, I'll tie you up and put you in bed to rest when you get home tonight."

Gu Youran looked at the message on the screen, her ears turned slightly red, and she subconsciously held her pulse.

Suddenly realizing something, he quickly removed his hand from his wrist and locked his phone as if nothing had happened.

The elevator door opened on the second floor and she was stunned when she stepped out of the elevator.

The clinic was exactly as she remembered it.

Her usual silver needle bag was neatly placed on the mahogany examination table, and even the curtains were her favorite lavender purple.

There was a faint scent of mugwort in the air, which was the most familiar smell to her over the years.

Si Wenjie walked out of the lounge holding ginseng tea, with two obvious dark circles under his eyes.

"The one in your family made a series of life-threatening calls at four in the morning."

He gave a wry smile and handed over the teacup. "You must make me promise that there will only be 20 numbers in the queue today, and that you must rest after the screening."

At the door of the clinic, Chen Xiaoyu's fingers, clutching the medical record book, trembled slightly.

"Doctor Gu," she said, her eyes reddening, "I'm... I'm so happy to be your assistant."
