Chapter 356 The Truth About Gu Youran’s First Love

In the dressing room, the costume designer handed over a light blue floral dress.

Gu Youran's fingers gently stroked the hem of her skirt. The style, pattern, and even the feel of the fabric were exactly the same as the one she wore when she was seventeen.

Ten minutes later, she changed into her skirt and stood in front of everyone.

Cen Su couldn't help but clap his hands in admiration, "Perfect! You are exactly as I imagined you to be."

"Chen Lian is already waiting for you." Cen Su pointed to the corner of the bookstore.

Gu Youran turned his head and looked.

Chen Lian, wearing a simple white T-shirt and dark blue jeans, was concentrating on reading the script in his hands.

He lowered his head slightly, his fine black hair hanging in front of his forehead, and his slender fingers gently turned the pages of the book.

This scene made Gu Youran's heart skip a beat.

They are so similar, even the way he turns the pages of a book is exactly the same as Han Jingchen back then.

"All departments, get ready!" Cen Su's voice brought her back to reality.

"In the first scene, Jiang Xianyin and Lu Jingyao meet for the first time. Three, two, one..."

"Begin!" Director Cen Su's voice fell.

The camera slowly moves forward, capturing every detail in the "Time" bookstore.

Jiang Xianyin stood on tiptoe and took down a yellowed copy of "Rock Guitar Classics" from the top of the bookshelf.

She stroked the cover with her fingertips, a bright smile on her face.

On the bookshelf next to him, Lu Jingyao was holding a copy of "Behavioral Finance" in his arm.

He accidentally looked up, his eyes passing through the gap between the bookshelves, and happened to meet the girl's sparkling eyes as she held a collection of music.

The smile was so dazzling that he couldn't help but stare at it for a few more seconds.

The two walked out of the bookstore one after the other.

Jiang Xianyin was still immersed in the joy of finding a treasure.

Suddenly, a figure in a dark blue hoodie jumped out from the side and the bag in his hand was instantly snatched away.

Jiang Xianyin staggered back two steps and watched the bag snatcher disappear into the crowd.

"Grab the bag!" The exclamations of passers-by broke the afternoon tranquility.

Lu Jingyao's reaction was astonishingly fast.

"Stop!" he shouted and rushed out like an arrow.

Gu Youran stood where she was as required by the script, but her fingertips unconsciously pinched into her palms.

She had rehearsed this scene countless times.

But at this moment, looking at Chen Lian's running back, the flying corners of his clothes, and his hurried steps.

Her heart still skipped a beat.

They look so much alike, even the swing of his arms is exactly the same as the Han Jingchen in my memory.

Ten minutes later, Lu Jingyao came back panting.

His black hair was soaked with sweat, and his white T-shirt was clinging to his body.

The sunlight outlines the unique outline of a young man.

He walked straight up to Gu Youran and took out a stack of crumpled bills from his jeans pocket.

Eight hundred-yuan notes, one fifty-yuan note, one ten-yuan note, and five one-yuan notes.

Not more, not less, exactly 865 yuan.

He stuffed the money into Gu Youran's hand, turned around and left, and the wind he brought with him was mixed with the scent of sweat and sunshine.

Just then, a sudden gust of wind blew off the topmost banknote.

A yellowed old photo was revealed.

The edges of the photo were curled, and it showed two teenagers standing arm in arm in the middle of a basketball court.

The one with cold eyes on the left is the young Han Jingchen; and the one on the right is the boy with a ruffian smile.

Gu Youran's breathing suddenly stopped.

The one on the right is the boy who stole her bag that year. Even the silver earring on his left ear is exactly the same.

"This is impossible..." she muttered to herself.

"Cut!" Cen Su's shout woke her up.

"Where did this photo come from? This prop isn't in the script!"

Chen Lian spread his hands innocently, "The photo is sandwiched between the prop banknotes."

He subconsciously avoided Gu Youran's inquiring gaze.

Cen Su quickly walked to the monitor and rewound the footage.

On the screen, Gu Youran's shocked expression was perfectly connected with Chen Lian's graceful departure, and even the arc of the raised corner of his clothes was just right.

"marvelous!"

Cen Su couldn't help but admire, "You two were born for the camera."

Applause broke out on the set.

No one noticed Gu Youran's unusual silence.

The staff were busy counting the equipment and preparing to move to shoot the childhood scenes.

"Teacher Gu, your role is over."

It was only after the staff reminded him for the third time that Gu Youran suddenly came to his senses.

She nodded and walked quickly to the dressing room.

Ten minutes later.

At the fire escape at the back door of the bookstore, Gu Youran grabbed Chen Lian who was about to leave.

Her voice trembled with suppressed emotion. "Where did you get the photo?"

Shen Lian lowered his head, his eyes dodging.

"I asked him to release it." Shi Heng walked out slowly.

He raised his hand and gestured, and Shen Lian immediately pulled away.

But when he turned the corner he couldn't help but look back.

As an acting student, he was very curious about the secrets of this rock star.

But thinking of the rumors about Shi Heng, he shrank his neck, quickened his pace and disappeared at the end of the passage.

Only then did Gu Youran realize that Shi Heng had not left after sending her to the set, and had been hiding in this dark corner.

"Zhang Ming, a student in the Finance Department of the Royal College of Country Y."

Shi Heng's voice was as calm as if he was reading a lab report. "I'm wearing a silver earring my mother gave me on my left ear."

With every word he spoke, Gu Youran's face turned paler.

"His mother had advanced stomach cancer and was at her wit's end."

He took out a yellowed copy of his medical record from his suit's inside pocket, and the diagnosis date was the day before the bag snatching incident.

"Han Jingchen gave you money because..."

Shi Heng flipped the medical record over. "The one who snatched the bag was his roommate Zhang Ming. This money is both hush money and compensation."
