Chapter 366: Kissing at the Top of the Ferris Wheel

Gu Youran was led forward by him until she heard the sound of the Ferris wheel turning.

Shi Heng let go of his hand, and the scene before him made Gu Youran's breathing stop.

The huge Ferris wheel stands in the dusk, and each cabin is coated with the golden edge of the sunset.

The lights of the amusement park had just come on, surrounding the Ferris wheel like scattered stars.

"I heard that there was a couple kissing at the highest point of the Ferris wheel..." Shi Heng's voice was filled with subtle temptation.

Gu Youran's heartbeat suddenly became irregular and blood rushed to his ears.

She interrupted him with forced composure, "You believe this kind of urban legend?"

Shi Heng chuckled, "Just try it and you'll know."

He took her hand and gently stroked his fingertips across her palm, causing a slight tremor.

The cabin door opened, and Shi Heng helped her in gentlemanly, but sat down next to her the moment Gu Youran sat down.

The Ferris wheel started slowly and the ground gradually moved away.

Gu Youran looked at the shrinking scenery through the glass window and suddenly realized that this was the first time today that they were truly alone in a closed space.

In the past, roller coasters and carousels were always crowded with tourists.

"Nervous?" Shi Heng noticed her clenched fists.

"No." Gu Youran let go of her hand, but he took the opportunity to interlock their fingers.

Shi Heng gently rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb, "Are you happy now?"

Gu Youran turned to look at him and found that Shi Heng's gaze was so focused that it was almost scorching.

She suddenly realized that every amusement ride throughout the day was deliberately arranged by him.

The realization made her heart beat wildly in her chest.

"Yeah, happy." She replied softly, suddenly not daring to look him in the eyes.

The cabin rose higher and higher, and the outline of the city gradually became clear in the sunset.

Shi Heng let go of her hand, put his arm around her waist, and brought her closer to him.

Gu Youran did not resist and leaned on his shoulder.

His scent was clean and refreshing, mixed with a hint of the sweet fragrance of the amusement park.

"Look over there." Shi Heng pointed into the distance.

Gu Youran looked in the direction of his finger, and the lights of the entire city lit up one after another, like scattered diamonds.

"So beautiful..." she exclaimed involuntarily.

"Not as good as you." Shi Heng's voice was close at hand.

Gu Youran turned her head and found that his face was only an inch away from her.

There was a deep affection in his eyes that she had never seen before.

The Ferris wheel was about to reach the top. Shi Heng raised his hand to touch her cheek, and his thumb gently brushed her lower lip.

"Youbao," his voice was so low that it almost sounded like a sigh, "I..."

The cabin shook slightly and stopped at the highest point.

Suddenly, a "whoosh" sound was heard in the distance.

Immediately afterwards, a cluster of brilliant fireworks exploded in the night sky.

Golden spots of light scattered, illuminating Shi Heng's deep eyebrows and eyes.

In the light of fireworks, Shi Heng lifted her chin and kissed her.

Gu Youran opened her eyes wide and felt a soft touch on her lips.

When Shi Heng deepened the kiss, she couldn't help but grab his collar.

Fireworks continued to bloom, illuminating the entangled figures in the cabin.

At that time, Heng finally stepped back slightly, and both of them had disordered breathing.

Gu Youran leaned on his chest to calm her breathing.

Suddenly I noticed that the newly blooming fireworks in the night sky spelled out a line of words:

【Lenna】

The words sparkled brightly in the night sky.

Shi Heng bit the tip of her red ear, his voice full of joy, "Youbao, I love you."

She looked up at him, and Shi Heng's eyes were filled with undisguised love and possessiveness.

He bent down and kissed her again, this time more passionately and more irresistibly.

The Ferris wheel began to descend, but neither of them had time to pay attention to the view outside the window.

Shi Heng's kiss moved from her lips to the side of her neck, leaving a string of fine marks there.

Gu Youran tilted her head back, inserted her fingers into his hair, and felt every breath he took against her sensitive skin.

"You...had planned this a long time ago?" she asked breathlessly between kisses.

Shi Heng chuckled, "Ever since the day you said you wanted to come to the amusement park, it's just that today is early."

His lips returned to her ear, "Did you enjoy today's surprise, Lenna?"

Gu Youran did not answer, but took the initiative to kiss him on the lips, using actions instead of words.

Shi Heng tightened his arms and locked her tightly in his arms, as if he never wanted to let her go.

The Ferris wheel cabin slowly descended to the ground, but Shi Heng's lips were still lingering on it.

The two did not separate until the staff knocked on the glass door.

"I can't breathe..." She blushed and lightly hit Shi Heng's chest.

Shi Heng chuckled as he tidied up her messy hair. Just as he was about to speak, his cell phone suddenly rang rapidly.

"Mom." Shi Heng answered the phone.

"Take your wife back to the Tao family's old house. Your uncle came back from Sucheng early and said he made an important discovery."

After hanging up the phone, Shi Heng took her hand and walked towards the parking lot.

"My uncle is back, and my mother asked us to go back now."

In the car, Shi Heng explained simply: "My grandparents moved to Sucheng five years ago and lived in seclusion, specializing in the study of ancient books."

"My uncle Tao Nianyuan is the director of the Taoran Pavilion in Beijing and a leading expert in ancient texts in the country."

Gu Youran asked curiously, "Is that the private library you mentioned last time that houses a large collection of witch clan texts?"

"That's right."

Shi Heng nodded, "My uncle has never married and has always treated me as his own son."

"But he has a bit of an odd personality. If he asks any strange questions later, don't take it personally."

As night fell, the car drove into a classical Chinese-style house.

Two celadon lanterns under the porch emit soft light, illuminating the exquisite carvings on the eaves.

"take it easy."

Shi Heng suddenly squeezed her palms and found that they were sweaty. "Although my uncle looks serious, he is actually a very good person."

As soon as I entered the courtyard, I heard a gentle male voice coming from the corridor, "Xiao Heng is here?"

In the moonlight, a middle-aged man in a plain long gown was standing in the corridor.

He was wearing gold-rimmed glasses and holding a yellowed ancient book in his hand, and his whole body exuded a scholarly air.

"Uncle." Shi Heng bowed respectfully and introduced, "This is..."

"I know." Tao Nianyuan pushed his glasses, and his eyes behind the lenses were as deep as an ancient well.

"This must be Miss Gu, right? 'The Strange Tales of the Witch Clan' states: 'The Blood Purifier, receiving the mandate from Heaven.' Do you know what destiny you bear?"

Gu Youran's heart trembled, and he subconsciously took a few steps back.

"Uncle!" Shi Heng took a half step forward and protected Gu Youran behind him, "You scared her."

Tao Nianyuan closed the ancient book slowly. The three gold-plated seal characters "Astronomy Examination" on the sheepskin cover were faintly visible in the moonlight.

"Xiao Heng, the girl you brought back is much more important than you think."

He turned and walked towards the inner room, "Come in, there are some things that it's time for you to know."
