Chapter 466 I want to give him a surprise on the wedding night

Gu Youran took the ultrasound report with trembling hands, and looking at the two small images of gestational sacs on it, an indescribable feeling of happiness surged in her heart.

"Doctor Liu, can you..."

She took a deep breath to calm herself down, "Keep it a secret for me first? Especially don't tell Shi Heng."

"Of course." Dr. Liu nodded knowingly, "But why keep such happy news a secret?"

She stroked the ultrasound report and said, "I want to give him a surprise on the wedding day."

Thinking of Shi Heng's expression when he heard the news, her heart felt as sweet as if it were soaked in honey.

When she walked out of the clinic, her steps became lighter.

She carefully folded the ultrasound report and put it in the most hidden compartment of her bag, then carefully checked it several times.

When she passed by the mirror in the hospital lobby, she couldn't help but stop, her fingers unconsciously resting on her lower abdomen, and she gave herself a bright smile in the mirror.

In order to avoid being exposed, she went to talk to Xu Bo's attending physician as planned.

During this time, he quietly changed the screensaver of his mobile phone to an ultrasound photo, and then returned to the car.

"What's taking so long?"

Shi Heng helped her fasten her seat belt and keenly noticed that the corners of her eyes were red, but she couldn't hide her smile. "What did the doctor say?"

She pursed her lips, her right hand protecting the bag as if by reflex, and tried to keep her tone steady, "Uncle Xu's condition is very stable."

The sunlight outside the car window was so bright that even the long traffic jam looked cute.

"What are you so happy about?" Shi Heng was steering the wheel, his eyes glancing at the corners of her mouth that unconsciously raised for the third time.

"Ah?" Gu Youran snapped back to his senses. "I was just thinking about the wedding coming up..."

She turned her head to look out the window, afraid that her shining eyes would give away her secret.

The red light came on, and Shi Heng reached out and pinched the back of her neck: "Uncle Xu's condition is stable, it's really worth being happy about."

There was a knowing smile in his voice, but he considerately didn't ask any further questions.

Gu Youran breathed a sigh of relief, but a sense of guilt welled up in her heart.

How she wanted to tell Shi Heng right now that they were about to welcome two little lives.

But with only four days until the wedding, she wanted to give him a surprise he would never forget.

Back at the villa, Shi Heng's phone kept ringing.

"There is a multinational video conference. You should rest first." He kissed her forehead and walked quickly towards the study.

Gu Youran waited for his figure to disappear at the end of the corridor, then immediately locked the bedroom door, took out the ultrasound report from her bag, and looked at it again and again in the sunlight.

Two fuzzy little dots, like two sprouting seeds.

"Shi Mo...Shi Qian..." She whispered the name that Shi Heng had given her, and suddenly laughed out loud.

Now these two names are really going to come in handy.

She dug out a light blue velvet gift box from the cloakroom and carefully placed the checklist inside.

Then he found a gold-stamped card from the drawer of the dressing table and wrote neatly:

[To my beloved Ah Heng: The name you chose can finally be used. —Love you, Youbao]

After finishing writing, she looked at it for a moment and added a line of small words at the bottom:

[The doctor said it's very likely to be twins~]

She placed the card and the ultrasound report side by side and closed the lid.

Just as she was about to hide it in the drawer, she suddenly changed her mind and placed the gift box in the most conspicuous place on the dressing table.

Anyway, Shi Heng wouldn't just go through her things.

During dinner, she tried to act normal, but she couldn't help staring at Shi Heng.

The way he concentrated on cutting the steak made her imagine how he would teach his children to use a knife and fork in the future.

The enthusiasm he showed when he talked about his work made her wonder how much of his characteristics her child would inherit.

"Is there something on my face?" Shi Heng suddenly looked up and caught her infatuated gaze.

She shook her head in panic, "I just... I think you look particularly handsome today."

Shi Heng put down his knife and fork and leaned forward, "Youbao, you haven't been feeling well since you came back from the hospital."

His eyes scanned her flushed cheeks like X-rays, "Are you sure it's just pre-wedding excitement?"

"Of course." Gu Youran lowered her head and drank the juice quickly, almost choking.

Shi Heng leaned back in his chair thoughtfully and didn't ask any more questions.

But Gu Youran noticed that a hint of doubt flashed in his deep eyes, which made her heart skip a beat.

After dinner, Shi Heng returned to the study to deal with emails, while Gu Youran took a hot bath.

The warm water soothed her tense nerves. She stroked her flat belly and imagined the two little lives growing inside.

"Babies, just wait four more days..." she whispered into the air, "Daddy will be so happy."

She came out of the bathroom and had just finished blow-drying her hair when her cell phone rang.

The words "Director Cen" appeared on the screen, and she quickly answered the call.

"Hello, Director Cen."

"You Ran," Director Cen's voice on the other end of the phone was filled with unconcealed excitement, "'Between the Strings' is scheduled to be released tomorrow!"

Gu Youran's grip on the towel tightened. "So soon? Are all the post-production work done?"

"It just passed the review yesterday." Director Cen smiled, "The theater gave it the best possible schedule, just in time for the excitement surrounding your and Mr. Shi's wedding."

"Registration for the Golden Indus Film Festival will close in half a month."

Gu Youran unconsciously rubbed her belly: "Have you arranged the publicity?"

"The premiere will be at the Starlight Cinema at 7 o'clock tomorrow night," Director Cen's tone became lighter. "Chen Lian and Teacher Song Lin will be there."

Suddenly lowering his voice, he asked, "Does Mr. Shi need to send a formal invitation?"

Gu Youran said happily: "No, I will tell him myself."

As soon as I hung up the phone, the door handle turned.

Shi Heng walked in with the steam from his shower, "Who are you talking to on the phone with such a sweet smile?"

"Director Cen said..." Gu Youran shook her phone, "My movie is coming out tomorrow."

Shi Heng immediately took out his cell phone, dialed Assistant Qin's number, and pressed the speakerphone button.

"Mr. Shi."

"Assistant Qin, contact the Starlight Cinema immediately and book all screenings of 'Beyond the Strings' tomorrow."

Gu Youran widened her eyes in surprise, "Ah Heng, there's no need..."

Shi Heng shook his head at her and continued on the phone, "All employees will go to the movie together tomorrow night. It will be charged to my personal account."

"Okay, Mr. Shi," Assistant Qin replied straightforwardly. "Do you need to prepare any support materials? Like posters, light boards, or something like that?"

Shi Heng looked at her, "Youbao, what do you want?"

She quickly waved her hands, "No need to be so exaggerated..."

"Then let's do it as usual." Shi Heng said on the phone, "By the way, arrange for all the group executives to attend the red carpet portion of the premiere."

"Understood. Do you need to prepare a congratulatory message?"

"Prepare two copies, one in the name of the group, and one..." Shi Heng held Gu Youran's hand, "in my personal name."

After hanging up the phone, Gu Youran looked at him helplessly, "You're really making too much of a fuss."

Shi Heng pulled her into his arms and said, "This is my wife's first autobiographical film, so of course I have to give my full support."

He kissed the top of her head, "I'll go to the premiere with you tomorrow."
