"To be precise, it's competing with customs for people."
Shi Heng had already taken out the car keys. "Let's go to your favorite Cantonese dim sum restaurant first, and then go to Ocean Park."
Half an hour later, the two sat by the window of the "Jin Yu Man Tang" teahouse.
Shi Heng was carefully scalding the tableware with hot water.
"Shrimp dumplings, siu mai, barbecued pork buns, and your favorite, red bean paste with tangerine peel."
After Shi Heng finished taking the order, he handed her the hot towel and said, "You can have more sweets today."
She took the towel and subconsciously touched her flat belly.
She looked up and saw Shi Heng's puzzled look, and quickly changed the subject, "Will there be a lot of people in Ocean Park today?"
“It’s more lively on weekends when there are more people.”
Shi Heng glanced at his watch. "It's half past nine now. When we finish eating, we'll be there just in time for the beluga whale feeding show."
He suddenly reached out and wiped the tea stains from the corner of her mouth. "Eat slowly, you're not in a hurry."
When Gu Youran lowered her head to drink porridge, he had already bought the e-ticket with her mobile phone.
After paying the bill, he took the tangerine peel and mung bean cake that the waiter had packed and said, "This is for your afternoon tea."
Half an hour later.
In the parking lot, Shi Heng took out two baseball caps from the trunk and said, "Put them on so you won't be recognized."
He bent down and kissed her forehead, "Let's just be an ordinary couple today."
At the entrance of Ocean Park, Gu Youran suddenly grabbed him and said, "Wait!"
She stood on tiptoe to adjust the crooked brim of her hat, and they smiled at each other.
The Beluga Whale Pavilion was bustling with people. Behind the huge glass curtain wall, two beluga whales were swimming gracefully.
Shi Heng protected Gu Youran and squeezed to the front row, just in time to see one of the white whales playfully spit out a string of bubbles.
Shi Heng suddenly pointed at the glass and said, "Look, it's nodding at you."
Gu Youran opened her eyes wide in surprise, and saw that the white whale was actually moving its head up and down towards her.
There were exclamations all around.
"How is that possible?" She grabbed Shi Heng's sleeve.
Before he could finish his words, the white whale suddenly used its nose to press a sign with the word "love" against the glass.
Gu Youran covered her mouth with an "Ah" sound, then turned around to see Shi Heng's smug expression, "Did you arrange this?"
"Just tell the keepers that today is a special day."
Shi Heng put his arm around her waist and said, "It chose its own way of expressing itself."
Gu Youran's eyes felt hot and she was about to say something when she suddenly felt nauseous.
She hurriedly grabbed the railing and said, "Let's go get some fresh air..."
Shi Heng immediately supported her nervously, "What's wrong?"
"Maybe the museum is too stuffy."
She suppressed her discomfort and pointed to the carousel in the distance, "How about we go ride that? I haven't ridden it in a while."
"Are you sure? You weren't feeling well just now..."
"Just sit in two circles."
Gu Youran had already pulled him out. "When I was little, my adoptive father often took me to ride. He said that music and spinning can make people happy."
There weren't many people queuing in front of the carousel.
When Shi Heng came back after buying the ticket, he found Gu Youran staring at a little girl who was held on her father's shoulders in a daze.
"What are you thinking about?" He touched her shoulder gently.
Gu Youran came back to her senses and said, "Look at that little girl, she's so happy."
She paused, "How long can a white whale live?"
Shi Heng glanced at her and said, "Maybe in fifty or sixty years. When our children come to play, they will definitely still be able to see the one we saw today."
Gu Youran suddenly clenched her fingers around the railing.
Shi Heng noticed it keenly, "What's wrong? Your hands are so cold."
He immediately took her hand and rubbed it.
"fine."
She shook her head and changed the subject, "Let's choose the double wooden horse."
The music starts and the colorful lights change with the melody.
As the wooden horse spun, Gu Youran looked at the changing scenery around him and suddenly grabbed Shi Heng's arm, "Actually, I..."
"What?" Shi Heng leaned close to her ear.
"I said..."
Gu Youran took a deep breath and said, "Can we sit here more often in the future?"
Shi Heng smiled and hugged her tightly, "As long as Madam Shi likes it, you can come every day."
Amid the cheerful music, Gu Youran looked at the dolphin pool in the distance and quietly pressed her lower abdomen.
After leaving the aquarium, Shi Heng glanced at his watch. "It's 12:20. What do you want to eat?"
“There’s a porridge shop nearby…”
Gu Youran was halfway through her words when she suddenly changed her mind and said, "Forget it, let's go to that private restaurant you often go to."
Shi Heng glanced at her sharply: "Why are you suddenly accommodating my taste?"
"because……"
She shook his arm and said, "I want to ask you to be the producer this afternoon, so I have to please you first."
At two o'clock in the afternoon, the two came to the "Sound Times" recording studio.
Gu Youran was tuning the guitar strings, while Shi Heng was adjusting the microphone sensitivity in front of the console.
"Let's record 'Unfinished Gift' first?" Shi Heng asked her through the glass.
Gu Youran nodded, gently plucked the strings, and the prelude poured out like flowing water.
After the first recording was finished, Shi Heng pressed the call button:
"The tempo is two seconds faster when the key changes in the third measure."
"You can even hear this?" Gu Youran looked up in surprise.
Shi Heng said, "Ever since you first sang in the attic, I've recorded it and listened to it dozens of times."
The second recording was done in one go.
The recording lasted two hours.
When he finished the five songs in "Hidden Meaning", Gu Youran's fingertips had turned red.
Shi Heng suddenly walked into the recording area and said, "Twenty minutes' break."
"no."
She rubbed her wrist and said, "While I'm in good shape, I'll also record the three songs I wrote when I was a kid."
Shi Heng frowned, "Which three?"
"'Snail Train' I wrote when I was eight, 'Kite String' on my ninth birthday, and... 'Goodnight Song' which Alan helped me revise before he left."
