Chapter 14

Chapter 14

"Didn't we agree to be obedient?"

Xia Qian was always most afraid of Hughes doing this.

However, as time went on and the incidents occurred more often, Xia Qian discovered that Hughes wasn't really that bad. At least as long as you didn't do anything reckless, Hughes generally wouldn't resort to violence and was actually quite easy to talk to.

She dared to look back at him boldly, "I just don't want to drink blood, how does that have to do with being disobedient?"

"I...I'm afraid of blood..."

Her little face was still pale, which made her look somewhat realistic.

However, this is true.

Therefore, Xia Qian felt that she was too weak to survive more than three seconds in this other world without Xiu Si.

It can neither fight nor resist; besides serving as a decorative piece, it really has no other use.

In this world, everyone is a superhuman. Even ordinary people have at least a strong and resilient physical body. Xia Qian is like a parasitic vine that has wandered in, delicate and fragile, clinging to the big tree of Xiu Si to survive.

However, this big tree is not always what Xia Qian sees it to be.

At least, at this moment, he is not easy to talk to.

"Xiaxia," he pinched her chin, bringing his fingertips to her lips. Xia Qian was forced to open her mouth, and he placed his fingertips under the tips of her teeth. If she used her teeth, he could easily draw blood. However, her teeth were like a child's newly grown baby teeth, not sharp at all.

Xia Qian shrank back.

"I really can't stand the sight of blood!" Xia Qian said telepathically, sounding aggrieved. "I'll faint!"

Moreover, drinking it is like having a GPS device installed in your body.

Hughes will know where she goes.

This blood cannot be drunk.

But it seemed as if fate was playing a cruel trick on her. Through her divine sense, Xia Qian saw a group of snakes hiding in the desert. They were mingling in the desert, and the snakes were constantly moving forward and wriggling, as if they were chasing their prey, relentlessly pursuing their vehicle.

If the car hadn't been suspended in mid-air, the snakes would probably have coiled up on it long ago.

Xia Qian suddenly got goosebumps all over her body.

The car was moving very fast, but the snakes did not give up and continued to wriggle and chase after it.

Xia Qian had never seen such a scene before, not even in documentaries, she had never seen a group of snakes like this.

Why is that?

Could it be Hughes?

But Hughes' blood is divine blood, and snakes, insects, and rodents dare not approach it. But besides Hughes, who else on the carriage could possess such power?

If it wasn't Hughes, then who could it be?

There were only the two of them in the car.

...Her?

Xia Qian was completely distraught. She felt her heart skip several beats. The thought that the swarm of snakes chasing her was coming for her made her afraid to even use her divine sense.

“Xiaxia,” Hughes said calmly, his tone like that of a parent scolding a disobedient child, “I told you to be obedient.”

The disobedient child couldn't help but struggle one last time. She let out a sob, weak and small, like a pitiful little animal, "...Did you already guess?"

Hughes pinched Xia Qian's face. He didn't answer directly, but instead said calmly, "My blood doesn't taste bad."

"It should taste sweet."

"Blood always smells foul." Xia Qian lowered her head.

"My blood is different."

He is of divine blood.

Hughes lifted Xia Qian's face, cupping her cheeks as he always did. His dark eyes, like a hunter's, locked onto his prey. His little prey flinched in fear the next second, "Hughes, I...I'm really afraid of blood..."

Can't I just not drink it?

"good."

Hughes's large hands cupped half of her cheek, and his voice was deep and pleasant, "There won't be any blood."

Before Xia Qian could refuse, his hand reached out from behind and wrapped around her waist.

He was very assertive and seemed to feel unsatisfied.

He put his arm around Xia Qian's waist, took her hand, and pulled her into his arms, letting her sit on his lap in a position he preferred.

"Hughes—"

Xia Qian's embarrassed voice was extremely soft.

She was forced to sit on him, and the moment she looked up, she met his eyes.

Xia Qian tried to get up, but the car suddenly jolted, making her unsteady. A large hand reached up to her back and held her firmly, while a deep voice said, "Sit still."

But this posture makes it difficult to get her to sit properly or anything—

Xia Qian lowered her head, unsure of where to look.

From Hughes's perspective, her flushed cheeks were clearly visible, even the tips of her ears were red.

“Xiaxia,”

Hughes cupped her face in one hand and slowly pulled her closer to him.

Just then, the car, which had been moving forward, suddenly stopped. Before Xia Qian could react, a shadow guard's voice came from outside the door, "Your Highness, we have arrived at the Desert Temple."

The atmosphere inside the car became tense.

Xia Qian came to her senses and felt a little uncomfortable. She wanted to get up, but Hughes's hand held her firmly. Xia Qian repeated softly, "Hughes, we've arrived at the Desert Temple."

They should get up—

Xia Qian struggled to get up; her ears felt like they were burning, and she didn't know where to look. She couldn't help but repeat, "Hughes—"

As soon as he finished speaking, Hughes loosened his grip.

Xia Qian immediately stood up, but before she could even take a step, those large hands silently attacked again, as if reaching out from the darkness, and firmly gripped her waist.

She was like the weakest prey in the forest, caught silently by the hunter before she could even react.

She was forced to sit back on his lap, her back against his chest. His lips pressed against her soft hair, as if kissing her strands. His long fingers brushed aside the strands of hair that were scattered around her neck. "You haven't even drunk the blood yet."

"where are you going?"

Xia Qian instinctively shrank back.

But from behind, and even from all around her, was Hughes' body pressed against her. When she shrank back like this, she got even closer to Hughes.

"good."

He brushed aside her hair, revealing her long, fair neck. His narrow eyes swept over her fair skin, and then upwards, there were her clear eyes.

Before Xia Qian could react, Hughes's large hand completely covered her eyes, plunging her into darkness, mixed with the low body temperature of Hughes's hand.

If you can't see blood, then it's fine if you can't see it.

“Hughes…”

Xia Qian tried to move and struggle, but the next second, Hughes grabbed both of her hands with one hand.

"Xiaxia," he said softly.

It was just a simple call.

Yet it also represents countless meanings.

Xia Qian dared not struggle anymore, and her movements gradually became smaller until she sat completely quietly on his lap. Hughes whispered in her ear, "Be good, it will be over in a moment."

"Waaah—"

Her sobs were soft, like those of a small, bullied animal.

Hughes stroked her neck as if to soothe her, his breath brushing against her skin. Despite having experienced this countless times before, Xia Qian inexplicably felt that this time was the most dangerous.

Just then, the Shadow Guard's voice came again, "Your Highness, we have arrived at the Desert Temple."

Xia Qian trembled slightly, and she didn't dare to speak.

Hughes acted as if he hadn't heard her. His gaze lingered on her neck, which he had brushed aside, revealing her fair and delicate skin. He held Xia Qian in his arms, then suddenly opened his mouth and gently licked her neck.

Xia Qian froze abruptly.
