Chapter 57
The sugar is really sweet.
So, how come she ran away after only one bite?
His fingers roamed over her waist, then up her back, holding Xia Qian tightly, not giving her any chance to escape.
What started as a fleeting kiss has, without her noticing, evolved into Hughes invading her territory.
The moonlight shone down on them.
Under the same moonlight, someone else huddled in a damp corner, shivering. It was cold, so cold it made you shiver, but the person seemed to be holding back a rage, their resentful eyes flashing with hysterical madness, shouting, "I told you! I don't know! I don't know anything!"
The woman's voice was extremely hoarse, as if she had screamed herself hoarse. Her hysterical voice echoed throughout the prison, her voice was everywhere, and it was terribly unpleasant to hear!
Several guards couldn't bear it any longer and covered their ears.
If they didn't know that the woman before them was the Queen of the Source of Life, they would never have believed that the disheveled, madwoman was the once high and mighty Queen of the Source of Life.
The wicked empress who harmed their crown prince's fiancée.
You won't find a mother and daughter as vicious as her and her daughter anywhere in the entire galaxy!
The older generation harms others, cruelly sending young girls who are only a few years old to such brothels, and the younger ones are also harmed. They know the whole truth, but pretend not to know.
She even sucks the blood of her own sister, using her name to build a reputation for kindness and bravery for herself!
That's disgusting!
There's no other mother and daughter as disgusting as them in the entire galaxy.
The woman, oblivious to her surroundings, continued her frantic screaming, "Where is Xia Qian? I need to talk to her! Tell her to come here!"
"You are not qualified to see our Crown Princess."
"What are you saying? Say it again! Don't you, a slave, know who I am?" She raised her chin as always, but without a trace of her former demeanor. Her voice was hysterical, "I am the Empress! The Empress of the Source of Life! Xia Qian is nothing—"
"Smack!"
The guards outside remained expressionless, seemingly unconcerned about whether they had gone too far. "His Highness said you are not worthy to appear before our future Crown Princess!"
“How dare a lowly commoner shout like that?”
Yes, she is no longer the empress, no longer the high and mighty empress.
She was enslaved by Xia Che, becoming a lowly person she usually looked down upon. Just like what she did to Xia Qian, Xia Che retaliated against her in kind. Not only that, but Hughes also got involved.
The thought of this cold-hearted boy made the queen tremble uncontrollably.
Why would a boy who is so cold and aloof, who doesn't respond to anyone, fall in love with Xia Qian?
The Empress thought maliciously that she had clearly intended to make Xia Qian suffer endless misery, but Hughes had spoiled her rotten.
That's unfair!
This is completely unfair!
The Empress muttered to herself, her eyes filled with resentment and indignation, as if she still couldn't accept the truth. But what could she do?
He's just a stray dog!
This woman's backer is long gone! The Pope's body is already cold.
"The time has come! It's dawn!"
The warden's voice echoed throughout the prison, and gradually, commotion arose within the cells, mixed with people's complaints and commotion. Prisoners were released one after another, passing in front of the Queen, each with an expression of watching a show on their face.
"I...I won't go out!" the woman cried hysterically again. "I won't go out!"
That's not something a noblewoman should do!
She is still the Empress, high above all others!
How could you let her do such a dirty thing!
"Why should I do the things that lowly people are supposed to do! I'm not a lowly person, I'm not a lowly person!"
The queen hid in a corner, and when the guards, unable to bear it any longer, came in to arrest her, she had already started running. She didn't care about the figure behind her or the long whip in the guard's hand; she only cared about running.
"I cannot do hard labor! I am the Empress, I cannot do hard labor!"
She thought that once Hughes caught her, he would give her a quick and painless death, but instead he threw her into this desolate prison planet, where she was surrounded by mineral deposits. The planet was full of prisoners of lowly status who had to walk countless kilometers every day to mine countless ores and do countless hard labor.
This is something only the lowest of the low would do.
Hughes took everything from her and turned her into a commoner.
The Empress cowered in the corner, and thinking of the scene where she was surrounded by people yesterday, she wanted to die.
She's extremely concerned about saving face!
Such humiliation was worse than death, but whenever the empress tried to secretly end her life with a weapon, guards would always appear around her.
They wouldn't immediately take the weapon from the Empress's hand; instead, they would stand aside and watch coldly as she tried to harm herself and commit suicide, as long as the Empress didn't die.
How could this vicious woman who deceived the entire galaxy die? Death is too good for her!
His Highness wants her to live, to make her suffer a fate worse than death, unable to die even when she wants to, and forced to be responsible for her past actions for the rest of her life, subjected to people's contempt, insults, pointing fingers, and onlookers. This is the greatest torment for her.
"I was wrong! I was wrong!" the woman screamed, cowering in the corner and pawing at the guards. "Please, let me go, let me go!"
"I apologize to Xia—no! I apologize to the Crown Princess, okay?" The Empress, her hair disheveled, cried out, "I apologize to the Crown Princess, okay? I apologize to her, and then you can let me go!"
That's impossible.
The guard captain remained expressionless. "Drag her out! Her hard labor for today hasn't even started yet!"
They would never let this wicked woman go, not even until they died.
Meanwhile, the empire's entry and exit points were filled with starships belonging to royal leaders from various countries. One after another, important figures who were rarely seen disembarked from the starships, including heads of state and their wives, royal kings, princesses, and princes.
They were dressed in fine clothes, and their female companions each held a beautiful bouquet of flowers, exquisite and elegant, with greeting cards on them.
Who could ignore the enthronement ceremony of the Son of the Empire? And who would dare to be anything but dignified?
A fire dragon hovered in the sky, and the bright flames symbolizing imperial culture burned in the air like fireworks, descending from the sky with abundant spiritual energy, like a gentle drizzle.
The heads of state of various countries twitched their lips slightly upon witnessing this scene.
The only thing that would allow the fire dragon to play like this is the Empire!
Who would be so wasteful with an open flame? It's an open flame!
Unlike the solemnity of the past, the empire was bustling with activity today. Even before the enthronement ceremony began, the streets were already packed with people heading towards the royal palace in the capital.
There is no set time for the imperial enthronement ceremony. According to imperial law, the crown prince can only ascend to the throne as king when he has the unanimous approval of the king, the council of elders, and the leaders of the various departments of the empire.
Throughout history, some imperial heirs have ascended the throne early, while others have ascended late. Experts have calculated that the imperial enthronement ceremony is held on average once every fifty years, but Hughes's ceremony this time has set a new record!
The current king is not yet fifty years old, just over forty and no longer confused. Hughes is only an eighteen-year-old crown prince who has just come of age. In the entire galaxy, he can be said to be one of the young future leaders.
Yet, at such a young age, an eighteen-year-old crown prince, through iron-fisted methods and a talent that can be described as once in a century, gained the complete approval of his father, the king.
When Hughes ascended to the throne, no one was surprised; they were already used to the miracles this young man had created.
His very existence is a miracle.
Before the banquet even began, the people at the banquet were already full of ambition. Someone whispered to his daughter, "Ask the waiters where the little princess of the Source of Life is now. Try to become friends with her."
"Stop asking about that little princess," said the foreign head of state beside him. "I've already inquired about her; you won't find her."
Everyone wanted to befriend this little princess, but the empire protected her so tightly that they never even saw her.
Where else could Xia Qian be?
Considering that Hughes, the main character of the day, was not at the banquet, everyone instantly understood the unspoken meaning.
But probably no one expected that they weren't actually together right now.
Xia Qian's cheeks were flushed. Even though she didn't want to listen, every word they said reached her ears. They didn't say anything, but even without saying anything, she knew what they were thinking.
Since her spiritual power was activated and Xia Che brought her back to the Source of Life several times, the spiritual energy gathered in her body has increased, and her hearing has become more and more powerful. Even from a great distance, she can hear clearly.
"Your Highness, the Crown Prince and the others are just ahead."
The waiter leading the way said that there was only one room in the long corridor. The door was not closed, and the conversation inside seemed to be pouring out. Xia Qian walked to the front and was about to push the door open and enter.
Just then, Elder Gao's voice rang out, "Your Highness, all inspections for the ceremony have passed."
Hughes nodded indifferently. He was always cold and aloof when he wasn't around Xia Qian.
There was another person beside him. "Your Highness," the other person said respectfully, "I am the historian of the Empire, responsible for recording everything related to the enthronement ceremony. May I ask, Your Highness, have you already decided on the three wishes you will make to Minghuo at that time?"
Xia Qian paused outside the door, her small hand, which was about to push open the door, stopped.
Open flame is a miraculous fire in this world, appearing only once every thousand years, and it possesses absolute magic.
Just as the source of life possesses the tree of life, the empire possesses the open flame.
Both are the source of spiritual energy in a region, bursting forth like a waterfall. Only in such places with abundant spiritual energy can people with supernatural abilities survive, and similarly, more people with supernatural abilities will emerge.
Unlike the Tree of Life, which appears only once every thousand years and withers once every thousand years, the new flames born from nature are quite arrogant and protected by fire dragons, making them difficult to tame.
But Hughes did it!
Not only did they tame the fire, but they also captured its guardian beast, the fire dragon.
As the master acknowledged by Ming Huo, Ming Huo will grant three wishes.
The empire never restricts the wishes of its heirs, and allows future heirs to freely display their ambitions and desires under the watchful eyes of the entire intergalactic population.
Some wished for their empire to dominate all the great powers forever, some hoped for world peace, and others hoped that their empire's territory would spread throughout the entire galaxy.
Each crown prince had his own strengths and weaknesses, and the wishes they made when facing the open flame were largely the same. However, as the first crown prince to tame the new open flame, no one could fathom Hughes's thoughts.
Is it to dominate the great powers or conquer the stars? To demand worship or to hope for immortality? Or perhaps...?
"The Crown Prince's three wishes have already been discussed with our council of elders," Elder Gao said.
"My first wish is for the empire to enjoy favorable weather and abundant harvests, and for the nation to be prosperous and peaceful. My second wish is for Princess Xia—"
Xia Qian's heart skipped a beat, and her hands, which were about to push open the door, froze. Why was this topic, which seemed to be very serious, suddenly brought up?
The topic of Hughes's wish still exists.
Xia Qian's gaze unconsciously drifted to the boy in the black military uniform inside the room. What did he want from her?
She didn't mean to eavesdrop; she just happened to be there at that moment and couldn't resist her curiosity to hear a little bit...
“Xiaxia,” Hughes’s voice suddenly rang out, “What are you doing there?”
We've been discovered!
When Xia Qian looked up, she was met with the boy's deep blue eyes. The unfathomable black pupils were like a dangerous abyss. The first time she met those eyes, alarm bells rang in her heart, and she felt a strong sense of danger.
But after spending so much time together, every time she inadvertently came into contact with those eyes, she didn't know when it started, but those dark pupils inexplicably attracted her.
The emotion I felt from him was no longer fear, but tenderness.
The boy who once wore a black robe now stands in the magnificent palace, gazing at her. He is no longer wearing the understated black robe, but his original appearance.
Dressed in military uniform, he was dazzling and radiant.
"Your aunt asked me to inform you that the ceremony is about to begin."
The girl's voice was soft and sweet, and very pleasant to listen to.
As soon as he finished speaking, Elder Gao and the others tactfully withdrew, saying, "Your Highnesses, we'll take our leave now."
In an instant, only the two of them remained in the room.
Recalling the scene where she had just been discovered, Xia Qian couldn't help but explain in a low voice, "I didn't mean to eavesdrop."
The girl's cheeks flushed; she was genuinely a little embarrassed about it.
"It's okay to hear it."
Hughes had already walked up to her without her noticing. His long, slender hand skillfully wrapped around the girl's waist, pulling her into his arms. A fragrance wafted over her—her unique scent.
He was engrossed in the conversation, his nose brushing against her soft hair. "We were just talking about you."
Xia Qian's body trembled.
He didn't miss this reaction. Like a hunter who had discovered something interesting, he gently pressed against his little prey's shoulder and held her slender waist even tighter. "Xiaxia, did you hear me?"
"Wh-what?"
"About my wish."
The girl's body trembled again.
She was obediently held by him. Without turning around, he knew her face was already red. The girl, who was always reserved and timid, did not deny it. "I heard it."
Hughes was not surprised at all.
She's a good girl.
They are incredibly honest and never lie.
only,
He bent down and gently pressed his lips to the girl's earlobe. "You seem to have guessed what I'm going to promise."
Xia Qian's face turned as red as if it were about to bleed.
Actually, she wasn't sure if it was that one.
But her intuition seemed to have its own voice, constantly telling her things in her mind.
She looked up at his handsome face. "What else could it be? You, you talk about this every day."
"Yes, this is it."
As if rewarded for guessing correctly, he placed a kiss on her earlobe, his voice deep, "You want to ask Xiaxia for marriage."
"Hughes—"
It really is this!
She looked up at him, as if she had never truly known him before, her eyes filled with a mixture of astonishment and the realization that she had inadvertently guessed correctly. "You—"
What should Hughes be like?
Cold, proud, like a flower on a high mountain, a chosen one of heaven, in the original work everyone acknowledged him as a genius without emotions, but since when has this Hughes become like this...
Minghuo's three wishes were so precious, how could she have been listed as one of the wishes by this chosen one of heaven?
She tugged at his sleeve. "Isn't proposing there a bit too much?"
And there were a lot of people.
With so many people watching them, just imagining that scene is a bit...
"Xiaxia," he said, holding her small hand, "I'm serious."
"I have only three wishes, and I have only three wishes. First, that the empire enjoys favorable weather and peace; second, that I may marry the one I love."
His voice suddenly seemed closer, "San Yuan, Xia Xia, please stay by my side forever."
Xia Qian: "...Domineering."
He replied in a low voice, "Yes, I always am."
He lifted her face with his fingers. "Xiaxia, give me a kiss."
"No, Hughes, you—ugh!" The coronation ceremony is about to begin!
His tongue burrowed into the roof of her mouth, coming in with such force and speed that she had no way to defend herself.
In just a few seconds, the other person had gained the upper hand and successfully entangled her. The next second, however, the other person withdrew from the fierce offensive and began to kiss her gently.
He put his arm around her waist and slowly penetrated deeper.
At the same time, an inappropriate voice came from outside the door, "Your Highness, the enthronement ceremony is about to begin."
"Hughes—"
The girl spoke softly, tugging at his clothes, as if afraid he would waste time.
Hughes, however, remained unhurried, gently wiping the substance from the girl's lips with his slender fingertips.
He was very tall, and when he gazed at her, he always lowered his eyes.
He gazed at her flushed cheeks, his voice low and tinged with amusement, "Why is Xiaxia still so shy every time we kiss?"
"It's all because every time you say you want a kiss, you end up doing a deep one—"
Xia Qian looked away, not wanting to discuss this anymore. She raised her hand, as if to protest, "I can do it myself..."
But Hughes wouldn't allow it.
His fingertips wiped away the silver strands of saliva from the corner of her lips. Xia Qian felt uneasy, wondering whose it was.
She lowered her head, too ashamed to look up, and let Hughes lead her. Only after they left the room did she realize something was wrong, but it was too late.
"Xiaxia, stay by my side." The boy held her hand, unwilling to let go.
Looking at their hands clasped tightly together, she couldn't help but ask, "Historically, have there ever been crown princes who made their entrance like this?"
No, I don't think so...
He brought his girlfriend over, or something like that.
...
Xia Qian blushed and realized what was happening when she was led by Hughes to the Queen's side. The Queen kindly pulled her to sit down, and they sat in the best viewing area.
Xia Qian sat there obediently, her hands still seemingly warm from his touch. Involuntarily, she recalled him calmly leading her out of the room, gracefully guiding her step by step to the Empress's side under everyone's gaze.
Hughes has already gone to make preparations.
They sat above, and not far below them, a bright fire was burning, securely stored in a huge square glass box. The fire was blazing and carried a strong spiritual aura.
The fire dragon and the flying dragon roamed the sky, their two beastly shadows, one blue and one red, one ice and one fire, forming the most magnificent scenery in the sky, seemingly outshining the sun for a moment.
At each enthronement ceremony, the crown prince always brought his tamed mythical beast with him, so it's not surprising that the crown prince possessed a divine beast.
But someone like Hughes, who possesses two of them, and both of them are legendary divine beasts, is truly the envy of everyone!
That's a flying dragon!
Is that beast flying beside the dragon just an ordinary beast? That's a fire dragon! It appears only once every thousand years, and even if you encounter one, it might not be willing to be tamed. Most of the time, it's an arrogant fire dragon that will fight you to the death.
Regardless of what the people present thought, they had to admit that Hughes truly deserved it!
All the soldiers were in position, and all eyes were on today's protagonist. Hughes stood to the side, dressed in a black military uniform with gold medals all over his chest, which shimmered in the sunlight.
Sunlight bathed him, and Hughes exuded an aura of asceticism, like a war god descended to earth. He drew his bow and arrow, and in an instant, before anyone could react, he fired an arrow with fierce momentum and extreme sharpness.
Heus was shooting down the sun.
Given this grand ceremony and its associated customs, it's no wonder the Empire and the Church of Light are locked in a life-or-death struggle!
After firing one arrow, two more arrows were fired in quick succession, both flying towards the target. With a "snap," they pierced the huge balloons, and the colorful ribbons inside burst out instantly, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
Applause erupted, and Xia Qian clapped along. She stared at the boy's back, but unexpectedly, he turned around. From a distance, Xia Qian was caught off guard and met the boy's narrow eyes.
He gazed at her with burning eyes, and there seemed to be a smile on his lips.
The bow and arrows were taken away by the waiter, and Hughes was greeted by cheers and applause. He walked slowly toward her, and Xia Qian's heart inexplicably tightened.
The two hands that were clapping stopped at some point. When Xia Qian realized what was happening, her fingers were gently rubbing the ring finger of her right hand.
As Hughes left, he rubbed his fingers there, as if hinting at something.
The ring finger is where you wear your wedding ring.
The girl's face flushed, and she couldn't help but whisper, "Auntie..."
"What's wrong, my little darling?"
Xia Qian lowered her head, her little hands clenched together, and asked in a low voice, "How did your uncle propose to you?"
"Hey! Is that brat Hughes going to propose to you?"
The Empress hadn't anticipated this. Looking at the girl's rosy cheeks, she couldn't bear to tease her. Just as she was about to answer Xia Qian's question, a series of steady footsteps sounded.
Queen: "Hughes has arrived."
Xia Qian's heart tightened. She saw Hughes walking towards her step by step, as if walking on her heart. His previous words still lingered in her ears. When she looked at him, he was looking at her too.
Finally, he stood steadily in front of the open flame, his shadow cast long shadows on the ground by the sunlight.
It seemed no one noticed what was happening between them; she sat above him, looking at him from a distance that wasn't too far away.
One by one, servants brought forward precious items, and at the same time, the king also stepped down from the platform, walking slowly and deliberately on the steps. When he reached Hughes, he removed his crown.
The king, who was usually taciturn, had a slight smile on his face today.
He took off his own crown and placed it on Hughes's body.
Hughes has ascended to the throne.
The cheers from the audience instantly amplified many times over.
"His Majesty."
Elder Gao carried the flamingo, which was placed in a glass box, forward, and the cheers from the audience erupted once again.
This has always been the most exciting part of the coronation ceremony, where countless new kings have revealed their ambitions and desires to the open flame.
Hughes was no exception.
“I have three wishes,” Hughes said. “First, I wish for favorable weather and peace for the empire.”
"My second wish is that my beloved will be happy every day, live a long and healthy life, and that her frail body will always be healthy, so that I can stay by her side forever."
Xia Qian was taken aback.
Before she could react, something warm flew over, and she looked down.
She didn't know when it started, but a glittering silver ring had already been placed on her ring finger.
There were still wisps of light flickering around the ring, like a red ribbon with flames, tightly wrapped from one end to the other onto Hughes's finger.
That's also where you wear your wedding ring.
The surroundings had fallen silent at some point. In the vast church, only Hughes's voice could be heard slowly speaking, "Third wish,"
Those around him waited for him to say something next, but the boy did not say anything more.
A sense of doubt arose in the hearts of the crowd. Just then, a small fire started to rise from the open flame in the glass box.
Like a slicing motion, the small flame slowly rose and, under the watchful eyes of countless people, flew towards the observation deck at the top of the church.
The person sitting there is—Princess Xia Qian, whom the Source of Life just brought back!
The little fire slowly stopped in front of Xia Qian, like a small gift, given with extreme patience and gentleness.
The small flame stood on the wedding ring, flickering and carrying a slight warmth, like the warmth of the sun.
"My third wish is for you, my little Crown Princess."
Xia Qian's cheeks flushed, feeling everyone's gaze upon her as she stared into those long, narrow eyes.
Hughes is still as domineering as ever!
Xia Qian thought, her cheeks burning.
But she didn't notice that the flame standing on the ring had transformed into a ruby in that instant, emitting a dazzling light.
It was the empress, who was sitting nearby watching, who noticed and reminded her.
This marked the end of the enthronement ceremony.
But the audience was still not satisfied, and the popularity of the young couple, Hughes and Xia Qian, has sparked a lot of discussion on the StarNet.
In terms of the coronation ceremony, Hughes was the absolute protagonist, and no one could steal his thunder.
But he willingly gave all the limelight to the little princess of the source of life, and even proposed to her at the grand ceremony watched by thousands.
He used an open flame to turn a stone into a ruby, placed it on the girl's hand, and then gave her his third wish.
How can anyone not be envious?
No matter how much time has passed, this ceremony remains a classic.
Is there any enthronement ceremony more spectacular than this one?
there is none left.
But if there is one, it's their wedding.
They did indeed get married soon after.
It wasn't exactly smooth sailing, because under the watchful eye of Xia Che, who was obsessed with his sister, no matter how much Hughes wanted to seduce her, he could only wait until six months later.
That was the result of their final discussion.
Xia Che couldn't bear to part with his sister!
Even six months later, Xia Che seriously considered the feasibility of breaking the contract.
It is impossible to break a contract.
After Xia Qian laid down three conditions and promised to visit him often and video chat with him from time to time, Xia Che finally agreed to release him.
Not long after, Hughes and Xia Qian's wedding was held as scheduled. Like an enthronement ceremony, all the prominent figures in the entire galaxy came to attend.
It all seems like it happened yesterday.
At night, the empire's fireworks display was like springtime, with hundreds of flowers blooming in the night sky, each more dazzling and brilliant than the last.
Those were fireworks specially made for them!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Xia Qian was mesmerized by the fireworks outside the French windows.
Just then, a large hand came from behind, carrying the person's aura. By the time Hughes got closer, Xia Qian had already slightly come to her senses.
Her cheeks flushed, and she hesitated to move.
They were sitting on the big bed, Xia Qian was still wearing her wedding dress, and her little hands were nervously clenched together.
When their eyes met, the atmosphere already began to show signs of ambiguity.
"Come here, sweetie," the man said in a low voice.
He put his arm around Xia Qian's slender waist and gently placed her on the large bed.
This is Hughes's room.
They finally decided on their new house.
Not long ago, she was applying medicine to him here, and today she's doing it here again...
Thinking about what might happen next, Xia Qian couldn't help but cover her blushing cheeks.
"Xiaxia," he whispered in her earlobe, "be good, take your hand away."
Xia Qian shook her head, still covering her rosy cheeks with her small hands.
A low chuckle reached her ears, "Are you nervous?"
She didn't say anything.
The silence itself signifies tacit agreement.
Hughes's eyes darkened. "Good boy."
Recalling their vows in church today, the man gently placed his large hand over her small one, saying, "We are now husband and wife."
The girl made a low sound, like a small animal groaning; she was so nervous she didn't know what to do.
A light, fleeting kiss landed on her forehead. Hughes said, "I'll start here."
From this angle, Xia Qian could only see Hughes' Adam's apple bobbing up and down, as if he were thirsty.
She turned her head away in embarrassment, but Hughes's kiss slowly moved down towards her.
He cupped her face in his hands, not allowing her to escape.
Her lips traveled from her forehead to her eyes, her small nose, and then to her lips.
"I've been waiting for this day for a long time."
The man spoke in a low voice, his breath filling her face. Xia Qian was too ashamed to look up.
Her long eyelashes seemed to tremble, and the man paused, "Xiaxia,"
He held her small hand and said, "Don't be afraid, I will be very gentle."
"I can't bear to see my Xiaxia get hurt."
Xia Qian's cheeks flushed red. "No, don't say anymore..."
"Why? It's the truth." The man whispered in her earlobe, "Because I love you, I can't bear to see you hurt."
That handsome face was magnified before her eyes.
His lips landed on mine at some point, a dense barrage of kisses, the attack still fierce, but once he gained the upper hand, he would begin to kiss me tenderly.
Fireworks were still going off outside, but the two people inside had no energy to watch them.
His hand went to her waist, but instead of untying it, he kissed her forehead again.
“Xiaxia looks beautiful today,” he said, burying his face in the crook of her neck. “It’s an honor to marry you.”
Before Xia Qian could answer, his kiss assaulted her again, this time gentle and unhurried.
"Xiaxia, I like you."
"I love you."
His deep voice whispered in her ear, while he kissed her gently, each word clear and distinct, "Always,"
Xia Qian's body went limp, as if bewitched by his voice and captivated by his kiss.
Hughes's voice was low, and his tone seemed to carry a hint of laughter. Before anyone knew it, his large hand slowly unzipped her zipper.
"Finally, you're mine," he whispered.
Xia Qian's body trembled, and then she heard Hughes' voice in her ear, "I can finally hold you in my arms and fall asleep with you every day. I can finally do that."
They finally became husband and wife.
His kiss landed on the girl's lips.
