Chapter 18

On the third night of theme song practice, the trainees recorded their own assessment videos. On the fourth morning, the mentors all rushed back to prepare for further evaluation.

The waiting time is long. Even if each of the thirty trainees is limited to three minutes, it will still take an hour and a half.

The mentors were trying hard to control their expressions in the conference room, and the trainees were not feeling relaxed in their respective practice rooms either.

Although the trainees are divided into four levels and cannot see those from other classes during practice, the instructors play the videos in random order and will never know who is next to each other. If those from Class D are next to Class A, it would be equivalent to a public execution.

The trainees in Class A were very relaxed at this moment. They were already strong, but they had some minor flaws. If they fixed them, they would be perfect. Rather than competing with others, it would be better to say that they were competing with themselves.

For example, now, it was a rare occasion that he didn't have to train after getting up early. Tong Juan was sitting on the floor of the practice room, feeling drowsy. However, the floor was too hard. After thinking for a moment, he decisively leaned against the wall next to him.

Pei Siran took a look and silently swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth. In fact, he wanted Tong Juan to lie directly on his legs.

Wen Yu patted his legs and said, "Juanjuan! Do you want to lie down?"

Tong Juan raised his eyelids, took a glance, and closed them again.

Although he only opened his eyes for a second, Pei Siran also clearly captured the message revealed in Tong Juan's eyes.

That look said, Wen Yu, you seem to have a serious illness.

Pei Siran felt relieved.

Tong Juan slept quite well. When others saw him sleeping, they automatically lowered their voices. He just continued to sleep, curled up in a corner with his head down. A rare bit of fat appeared on his originally delicate face, making him look very tender.

"Tong Juan, get up."

Pei Siran calculated the time to wake Tong Juan up, and at the same time reached out to poke the soft cheek. Thinking that the touch felt good, he pinched it again.

The skin under the fingertips is smooth and tender, like glutinous rice balls, and you can feel the sweetness inside just by touching it.

Pei Siran hadn't pinched enough when Tong Juan was awakened by him. He opened his misty and confused eyes and stared at him: "What are you doing?"

His tone after being woken up was not good, it could even be said to be fierce, but Tong Juan's voice was pleasant, with an innate youthfulness, and even when he was angry, he did not have much deterrent power.

Pei Siran was even a little stunned. While he was in a daze, Tong Juan had already rescued his face from his hands. He rubbed it and muttered softly: "If the production team doesn't give him meat, this guy will go crazy. I always feel like he's going to bite my face."

"All trainees, please gather in the studio." The broadcast voice sounded.

Tong Juan glanced at the time and estimated that the rating was almost over, so he stood up, stretched, and prepared to go out.

The trainees nearby also came out. Zhong Yi looked around in the crowd and soon found Tong Juan and the others.

"Juanjuan." Zhong Yi called Tong Juan's name and squeezed through the crowd, "How do you feel? You should still be in Class A, right?"

After all, Tong Juan's strength and appearance are obvious to all, and it would be unreasonable not to keep him in Class A.

Tong Juan listened to Zhong Yi's words and smiled, "Of course I hope I can stay in Class A forever."

Zhong Yi sighed softly: "I also hope that I can go to Class A to accompany you."

"No need." Pei Siran said softly from the side.

It’s enough to have Wen Yu sticking to Tong Juan in Class A, and if there’s another Zhong Yi, Tong Juan won’t have any rest time at all.

Zhong Yi had long been accustomed to Pei Siran's absolute domination, and retorted: "Then I was just lucky to be admitted to Class A?"

"Then I'm relieved. You don't have such good luck."

"???"

Zhong Yi looked at Pei Siran in disbelief: "If you don't believe me, let's make a bet."

"What are you betting on?" Pei Siran asked, crossing his arms.

Zhong Yi thought for a moment and said, "If I win, we'll switch rooms."

Pei Siran: “???”

Chu Fangan mourned for Zhong Yi in his heart.

Tong Juan was still confused: "Change room? What room?"

The next second, Pei Siran's voice rang out, "What are you talking about, little brat?"

It's like the calm before the storm.

Zhong Yi looked at Pei Siran's expression, swallowed, and was ready to run away.

Then Tong Juan saw two figures flash past him. The speed was so fast that he could hardly keep up with it with his eyes, and he couldn't help but applaud.

Chu Fangan glanced at his hands and asked, "Why are you clapping?"

Tong Juan's eyes were still on the backs of the two people, and he answered subconsciously: "You run so fast, so amazing."

Chu Fangan looked at him with a silly look like a kindergarten kid watching a performance, and actually clicked his tongue twice with a hint of schadenfreude.

Tong Juan didn't think anything was wrong. He looked at the crowd around him and asked, "Should we hurry up? We can't be the last ones to go in."

"As long as you don't watch the race, we won't be the last."

"Let's go, let's go." Tong Juan pulled Chu Fangan back into the crowd.

The trainees stood in four colorful rows according to their classes. The chairs that were arranged in a stepped pattern were taken away, leaving only the words ABCD in capital letters with lights on on the steps.

The three mentors were not there either. Only Yu Ren was standing opposite them. There was a small table on the right with several stacks of cards on it.

"Congratulations to everyone for completing the theme song assessment. I believe that most of you have tried your best, but there are still a few who did not perform well." Yu Ren held up the microphone and said, "I hope everyone can take it seriously. After all, such an opportunity, at this age, only comes once in a lifetime."

"Without further ado, please come to me and receive your re-rating levels."

"The trainees whose names I called out just need to come over to get their scores and then stand in the corresponding positions."

"Yan Daitong."

The results of Class A were saved for last.

Among the trainees in other classes, some performed well and some did not. Some were promoted directly from Class D to Class B, while others were demoted from Class C to Class D.

Zhong Yizhen really did as he said, he came to Class A from Class B, which livened up the atmosphere of the whole class.

"Brother Pei, do you want to change rooms?"

Pei Siran spat out one word indifferently: "Get lost."

"Okay." Zhong Yi slipped back to the edge of the row of Class A.

Yu Ren picked up a card, opened it, took a look, and then put it back. "Tong Juan, please come and claim your level."

Tong Juan went down immediately and stopped in front of Yu Ren. Under Yu Ren's kind gaze, he reached out and picked up the thin card.

The card only had his name and two letters plus an arrow.

Tong Juan: A→A

Tong Juan breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he was still qualified to compete for the C position.

Yu Ren reminded: "You can go back to your seat now."

Tong Juan nodded, bowed while holding the card, and turned to walk towards the stairs.

The other trainees looked at him and talked quietly among themselves.

"If it's Tong Juan, it should still be A."

"If Tong Juan can't get A, who else can?"

After hearing this, Tong Juan bent his left leg when he walked to B, and immediately heard the other trainees gasp.

"No way? He's B?"

"Oh my god, can I play with him now?"

Suddenly there was silence for a second, and then there were shouts of “Shame on you!”

Tong Juan laughed, retracted his legs, and obediently returned to his seat in Class A.

Yu Ren joked from the audience, "Okay, our trainee from Class A is a little playful."

It would have been better if he didn't say it. As soon as he said it, all the trainees' attention shifted to Tong Juan again.

Tong Juan felt ashamed of his behavior when being watched, and shrank behind Zhong Yi in embarrassment.

Everyone smiled politely, even the cameraman had a smile on his face, and gave a close-up of Tong Juan who was hiding.

"Pei Siran, please come and collect your level."

Unlike Pei Siran and Tong Juan, who were slow, Pei Siran quickly took the card, took a look at it, and then quickly walked back and stood next to Tong Juan.

People who received the cards would not return to their original positions. Tong Juan was sandwiched between Pei Siran and Zhong Yi, and he started to have a headache before he even started to feel any pain.

Tong Juan sighed, hoping that the two elementary school students could temporarily cease fighting.

All the members of Class A stayed, and Zhong Yi was also added. After the levels of all the trainees were announced, the selection of the center position began. Based on the current seven people in Class A, there was ten minutes of preparation time, and it would start on time in this studio in ten minutes.

Tong Juan was not sure. Although he practiced hard, so did the others. Although the other trainees were very nice to him, he could feel that they did not seem to have a concrete impression of his ability.

I hope the selection later can make other trainees realize this, otherwise he will have no other choice.

The seven trainees in Class A each found a deserted place to prepare. Tong Juan let out a long sigh, temporarily stopped thinking about those trivial things, and danced again as he remembered.

The selection of the C position was based on the 30-second chorus. After Tong Juan danced several times, he returned to the studio.

They started again in the order that Yu Ren told them to collect the cards, and after each performance there was a very short time to canvass for votes.

After Tong Juan finished dancing, he took a few breaths before picking up the microphone to canvass for himself: "Hmm..."

Before he could say anything, a voice came from the colorful group of trainees across from him: "Be a bit coquettish!"

These words seemed to turn on a switch, and a constant stream of "coquettishness" reached Tong Juan's ears.

Tong Juan held the microphone and remained silent.

After a few seconds, he asked aggrievedly: "Then will you really vote for me?"

"meeting!"

“It’s a must!”

"You can always trust my good brother!"

"Shame on you, who are you good brother to?"

Tong Juan bowed his hands resignedly and winked at the trainees: "Please vote for me."

The trainees on the other side all turned into monsters, and even the photographer had already cut to the close-up.

After doing this action, Tong Juan had lost all hope in life, and in later stages, he was given a special effect of his soul leaving the world.

However, in the end he lost to Chu Fangan by one vote.

Tong Juan: It’s fucking outrageous. These guys really don’t keep their word.

By the time Tong Juan was putting on makeup, the system began to settle the task.

"Unfortunately, the host has failed this mission and will be punished in ten minutes."

When recording the theme song stage, the system had already started the penalty countdown.

The last 1 and the prelude of the theme song sounded together, and Tong Juan managed to avoid spitting out the blood in his throat during the filming.

After the last note of the theme song ended, Tong Juan could no longer hold on. His health suddenly dropped to 79%. Tong Juan's body had begun to burn, and his throat was filled with blood that tasted like rust. He almost fell down as his legs went limp.

Pei Siran, who was a few steps away from him, immediately caught him. The body in his arms was burning hot, his lips were bloodless, and there were even a few traces of blood oozing from the corners of his mouth.

Pei Siran panicked immediately, "Tong Juan?"

Hearing his voice, Tong Juan regained consciousness for a moment. Seeing Pei Siran's anxious expression, he tried to comfort him, "It's okay..."

As a result, as soon as he opened his mouth, he spat out blood again.

Pei Siran's eyes were red: "Tong Juan?!"

But Tong Juan could no longer hear anything.
