Chapter 118: Halfway to Success

Qin Haochen had shown Ann the drafts of the designers in advance.

These dresses in front of her were all made according to her preferences, with the addition of the designers’ unique touches.

Each dress was truly one-of-a-kind worldwide.

Due to the precise targeting of Qin Sui’an’s preferences, she was now overwhelmed with choices and couldn’t decide which dress to wear.

Ann looked at her with pleading eyes, saying pitifully, "Daddy, Ann can’t decide."

Qin Haochen made a decisive decision and helped Ann choose a white dress with a subtle pink gradient.

It was a small princess dress, meticulously handcrafted by a top designer, with a magnificent skirt adorned with hundreds of dazzling diamonds, worth a seven-figure sum.

After changing into the princess dress, the stylist, Maggie, began to work on Qin Sui’an’s hairstyle.

Meanwhile, on the other side...

As the time for the Qin family banquet approached, the members of the Shao family were still in preparation.

"Mummy, can’t you contact Ms. Maggie yet?"

Shao Xinxin sat anxiously in the living room, urging, "Mummy, the banquet is about to start."

Shen Shuwen tried to reassure her, saying, "Xinxin, don’t worry, I’m making a call."

With a phone in one hand and Maggie’s business card in the other, Shen Shuwen had already made nearly twenty calls in just ten minutes, but none of them were successful.

How dare this stylist stand her up? She was just a stylist, yet she dared to play games with her.

It was already a great honor for a stylist to work with the Shao family’s daughter, and this stylist had an audacious attitude!

Shen Shuwen initially thought that dealing with a stylist would be a simple matter.

Even though it was a last-minute arrangement, as long as the money was there, what couldn’t be resolved?

Never did she expect that she couldn’t even reach a stylist now!

Seeing that it was already half-past five, Shen Shuwen gritted her teeth and cursed the stylist in her mind over and over again.

"Xinxin, let’s find another stylist. There’s no need to insist on this Maggie."

Shen Shuwen came to her daughter’s side and coaxed, "Mummy knows another stylist who is exceptionally talented. I’ll have her come to our house and style you."

"Mummy, Maggie is the most talented stylist," Shao Xinxin frowned unhappily.

The reason Shao Xinxin was so insistent on stylist Maggie was twofold.

First, Maggie was indeed the most outstanding and top-level stylist to date.

Second, she clearly remembered that every time Qin Sui’an attended a banquet or any future children’s competitions, these hairstyles were personally done by Maggie.

Maggie had almost become Qin Sui’an’s exclusive stylist, and the hairstyles she created had garnered a lot of positive attention for Qin Sui’an in the public eye.

Shao Xinxin naturally didn’t think that Qin Sui’an’s popularity was due to her own merits; she believed it was all thanks to stylist Maggie.

Shao Xinxin clenched her fists involuntarily.

She wanted to be one step ahead and make Maggie exclusively hers, becoming her personal stylist.

After all, Shao Xinxin was the one who received all the love and attention!

Shao Xinxin bit her lip, determinedly saying, "Mummy, I only want Ms. Maggie. I don’t want any other stylist."

"Xinxin..."

No matter how much Shen Shuwen tried to persuade her, she couldn’t convince Shao Xinxin to change stylists.

Unfortunately, stylist Maggie’s phone remained unanswered after countless attempts.

If they continued to delay, they might not make it to the Qin family’s banquet.

Shen Shuwen furrowed her brows and suddenly remembered something.

She made another phone call.

Ten minutes later, a small car parked at the entrance of the Shao residence.

Shen Shuwen personally came out to greet, saying, "Ms. Maggie, you finally arrived. My daughter Xinxin has been waiting for you to style her!"

A young woman stepped out of the back seat.

She had natural golden hair and was of mixed heritage.

She looked at Shao Xinxin up and down and said, "Lady Xinxin, are you looking to have a hairstyle done for the evening banquet?"

In her previous life, Shao Xinxin never had the opportunity to have her hair styled by Maggie, nor did she ever meet Maggie in person.

Looking at this unfamiliar mixed-race woman in front of her, and considering that the name "Maggie" is also a foreign name, Shao Xinxin had no further doubts and smiled sweetly, saying, "Yes, Ms. Maggie, please help me design a hairstyle."

"Of course," the woman nodded with a smile.

Shen Shuwen secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Luckily, she was clever enough to come up with this plan; otherwise, they might not have made it to the Qin family’s banquet tonight, and she was still hoping to make a grand entrance at the event.

Old Madam Shao changed into her cheongsam for the banquet and descended the stairs.

Seeing her granddaughter Xinxin still having her hair styled, she patiently sat on the nearby sofa, waiting.

Shen Shuwen picked up a cup of warm tea and offered it, saying, "Mother, please have some tea."

Old Madam Shao glanced at her sideways and replied, "Just leave it there."

"All right," Shen Shuwen obediently placed the teacup in front of her, maintaining a gentle smile on her face, though occasionally a hint of anxiety flickered in her eyes.

Finally, Old Madam Shao picked up the teacup and slowly took a sip.

Shen Shuwen secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Old Madam Shao finally drank the tea.

A few minutes later, Old Madam Shao furrowed her brows, seemingly feeling uncomfortable.

She glanced at the time, then stood up hastily and hurriedly walked out of the living room.

Time passed bit by bit.

The stylist fixed an expensive butterfly hairpin in Shao Xinxin’s hair, completing her task.

"Lady Xinxin, it’s done."

Shao Xinxin raised her eyes and carefully examined herself in the mirror, nodding in satisfaction.

"It looks beautiful, thank you, Ms. Maggie."

"It’s my pleasure," the stylist politely smiled.

At the right moment, Shen Shuwen stood up and looked towards the entrance of the living room.

"Oh, why is Mother taking so long in the restroom? We need to hurry to the Qin family; the banquet is about to start."

Shao Xinxin also grew anxious.

"Mother, is Grandma feeling unwell? Should I wait for her?"

"If we keep waiting, we won’t make it to the Qin family in time," Shen Shuwen furrowed her brows and turned to instruct the servant to urge Xinxin’s Grandma in the restroom.

After a while, the servant returned, saying, "Madam, the old lady said she might not be able to make it and asked you to take Lady Xinxin to the banquet."

Naturally, the words were not as polite as this.

Shen Shuwen seemed quite troubled.

"Well. Your Daddy is still busy at the company. All right, we have no other choice. I’ll take Xinxin to the Qin family’s banquet."

Her plan was only going smoothly within the Shao family.

When Shen Shuwen arrived at Bay Villa with her daughter Shao Xinxin, the two of them were stopped by the Qin family’s bodyguards at the gate.
