Chapter 167: Recognizing Grandmother

Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes and replied to her question, "Ann wants to see Mommy."

"See your Mommy?" The female assistant was taken aback.

President Qin hasn’t divorced Lady Chaosi yet, and he has already found a stepmother for Ann? This is outrageous!

Lady Chaosi is still unconscious in the hospital and President Qin...

The assistant’s eyes turned even redder, this time from anger.

She forced herself to calm down and gently asked, "Young Lady, where do you want to go to see your mother?"

"The hospital." Qin Sui’an looked ahead at the long road that still lay ahead. "Sister, goodbye."

With a swift farewell, Qin Sui’an continued walking forward.

"Wait! Young Lady!"

The assistant suddenly realized her mistake.

Ann didn’t have a stepmother; she wanted to go to the hospital to visit Lady Chaosi!

"Young Lady, Old Madam is also going to the hospital. You can go with her," the assistant hurriedly stopped her.

"Young Lady, Old Madam is your grandmother on your mother’s side."

"Huh?"

This term was unfamiliar to Qin Sui’an; she had no memories of her grandmother on her mother’s side.

The assistant’s phone in her pocket rang, it was a call from the Old Madam.

Through the receiver, a woman’s impatient voice came, "What’s the situation? Why is it taking so long?"

The assistant couldn’t contain her excitement, "Old Madam! I’ll be right back!"

After hanging up the phone, the assistant looked at the little girl again.

"Young Lady, come with me. I’ll take you to meet your grandmother and your mother in the hospital."

Qin Sui’an furrowed her small eyebrows, looking at the unfamiliar older sister, finally sensing a hint of crisis.

She firmly shook her little head, "Ann doesn’t know you, so I can’t go with you."

"I am Old Madam’s assistant, your grandmother’s assistant," the assistant opened her phone’s photo album and flipped through it.

She found a family portrait taken by the Ye family a few years ago and handed it to Qin Sui’an:

"Young Lady, look, this is your mother, this is your grandmother and grandfather, these are your uncles, and this little baby, do you see? It’s you."

The assistant enlarged the photo to its maximum size and said earnestly, "You see, the silver bracelet you are wearing is exactly the same as the one worn by the baby in the photo. This pair of silver bracelets was personally made by Lady Chaosi and your father, President Qin. It’s the only pair in the whole world!"

The assistant spoke with a steady and fast pace, her words eloquent and precise, pointing at the people in the photo as she spoke.

Qin Sui’an listened attentively, her round eyes fixed on each person in the photo.

Except for the woman holding the baby, who looked exactly like the mother in the photo her father had shown her before, she didn’t recognize anyone else.

Holding onto the big white goose, she couldn’t free her hands and could only stare at the photo.

Her childish voice contained a hint of confusion, "Is this... Mommy? Is this Ann?"

"Yes, Young Lady!" The assistant smiled at her.

"Young Lady, may I take you to meet your grandmother? She is in that black car over there."

The assistant pointed towards the Maserati.

Qin Sui’an hesitated, looking at the assistant and then at the car she mentioned.

"Sister, you won’t deceive Ann, will you?"

The assistant’s tone was firm, "Of course not, Young Lady!"

Qin Sui’an lowered her little head and leaned close to the big white goose’s ear, whispering softly, "Big white goose, can Ann trust Sister?"

Since the assistant appeared, the big white goose had remained vigilant, ready to peck at any moment.

But when the assistant showed the family photo, with the little energy it had left, the big white goose sensed that what the assistant said was true.

The big white goose leaned weakly against Ann’s embrace and honked, "Ga... Ann, you can trust her. She is your grandmother’s assistant, and she also knows your mother."

With these words from the big white goose, Qin Sui’an lifted her little face and looked at the older sister again.

"Then, Sister, please take Ann to find her grandmother and go to the hospital to see Mommy."

The assistant was startled by the sudden honk from the big white goose in her arms. She had thought it was just a plush toy, but it turned out to be alive!

After regaining her composure, the assistant nodded repeatedly and led the way, "All right, Young Lady, please follow me."

It seemed that now that Ann had been taken away by the seemingly reliable professional-looking woman, the other vehicles gradually returned to their usual speed, no longer causing traffic congestion.

The Maserati joined the flow of traffic gracefully.

The driver, upon seeing the female assistant on the roadside, accompanied by a young child, wore an expression of astonishment.

The Maserati slowly pulled over to the side.

The cautious female assistant carefully approached the car with Ann in her arms.

She first opened the passenger door and then turned her gaze towards the elderly lady resting with closed eyes in the back seat, her excitement evident as she exclaimed, "Old Madam! I have encountered the young lady!"

In the back seat, Madam Ye lifted her eyelids, her brows tightly furrowed.

Due to the long delay caused by the traffic, she was growing impatient.

"What has happened?"

"The young lady! Old Madam, it is the young lady!" The female assistant explained.

Old Madam Ye’s brow furrowed even deeper. "What young lady?"

The assistant clarified, "Old Madam, it is Lady Chaosi’s daughter, your granddaughter."

Old Madam Ye paused for a moment as if her mind had momentarily clouded, unable to turn.

Observing this, the assistant cautiously opened the rear door.

"Old Madam, please look..."

At that moment, Old Madam Ye lost her ability to think, merely following the assistant’s words as she turned her head and gazed outside the car.

Her gaze descended, and the small little girl appeared within her line of sight.

The slightly familiar little face reflected in her pupils.

It was as if time had suddenly rewound to twenty-something years ago, as if she was seeing her daughter, Ye Chaosi, during her infancy.

Upon closer inspection, there were slight differences from her daughter, Ye Chaosi.

Ann’s face was slightly rounder, with a pair of bright black eyes resembling luscious black grapes.

At this moment, those eyes were curiously fixed upon her, while the small cherry-like mouth pursed into a straight line, with adorable dimples faintly visible on both sides.

"An... Ann?"

This name, Old Madam Ye hadn’t mentioned it in nearly three years, and it felt unfamiliar on her tongue.

The little baby she could only hold in her arms had suddenly grown into a three-and-a-half-year-old little girl.

Old Madam Ye blinked, then blinked again, and Ann was still there, "Ann."

The assistant’s excitement continued, nodding vigorously.

"Yes, Old Madam, she is Miss An’an!"

Qin Sui An, holding a large white goose, tilted her little head and blinked her round eyes.

"Are you Ann’s grandmother?"

Her soft and tender voice was sweet and gentle, causing Old Madam Ye to feel as if she had sunk deep into a soft and sweet marshmallow.

The sweetness made her heart tremble, her eyes moist.

Old Madam Ye’s body went weak, and she trembled as she held onto the seat.

The assistant quickly approached and supported her as she got out of the car.

"Old Madam, be careful."

Old Madam Ye squatted in front of Ann, her vision blurred, yet she couldn’t tear her eyes away from her.

Her voice choked, "You resemble your mother so much, even more so than when you were a little baby."
