Chapter 182: Winning Prizes, Making Big Money

Qin Haochen nodded lightly.

After waiting for several hours outside the hospital, the car finally started and headed towards the direction of the Qin Corporation.

Not long after the car left, Ye Yanzhi received a message from Jie Hansi, informing him of President Qin’s departure.

Ye Yanzhi remained calm upon seeing this message, but couldn’t help but feel relieved and a little happy inside.

At least for the next few hours, their granddaughter would still be staying here, accompanying them.

Ye Yanzhi’s gaze softened with a tenderness that hadn’t been seen in a long time as he doted on the little girl beside him.

Qin Sui’an still held her phone, video chatting with her daddy. Only the sweet and tender voice of their granddaughter in the living room could be heard, causing a slight upward curve on Ye Yanzhi’s lips.

The hospital was not far from the Qin Corporation, and it wasn’t peak hours for commuting, so the journey was smooth and unobstructed.

Qin Haochen glanced ahead, a hint of displeasure in his eyes.

Why did they arrive at the company so quickly?

The car parked at the entrance of the Qin Corporation, and He Yan stepped out, bypassing the rear of the car to open the back door.

Upon meeting the cold and questioning gaze of the CEO, He Yan quickly reacted and gently, cautiously closed the back door again.

He silently stood by the car, wiping away a cold sweat.

Inside the car.

Qin Haochen continued to whisper and talk softly with the little girl, listening to her recount the special message left in the villa’s living room, the sneaky departure from the villa, and the bravery when she went to the hospital to find her mommy.

Qin Haochen couldn’t help but laugh and cry.

He thought his little girl was amazing, being only three and a half years old and able to "run away from home" with a backpack and a goose.

He also thought she was obedient and sensible.

Even though she missed her mommy, she kept it to herself, afraid that it would interfere with the adults’ work, and decided on her own.

Qin Haochen had to put on a serious expression and said sternly, "Ann, from now on, you must tell Daddy where you want to go and what you want to do, understand?"

Qin Sui’an lowered her little head slightly and asked, "Is Daddy angry?"

Qin Haochen couldn’t bear to scold or blame her, but this situation really couldn’t happen again.

With a stern face, he continued, "Yes, Daddy is angry. Ann, you’re still young and can’t go out alone. Even if Daddy, Grandpa, Grandma, and your brothers are all busy, we have many bodyguards in our family who can accompany you."

"You can’t sneak out alone anymore, understand?"

Just when he wanted to give a very strict lecture, Qin Haochen’s heart ached when he saw Qin Sui’an’s head drooping lower and lower.

He sighed helplessly and softened his voice, "Ann, Daddy is very worried about you."

Qin Sui’an pursed her little mouth, her round eyes glistening.

She rubbed her eyes and said, "Daddy, Ann won’t leave alone anymore."

"Good girl, Ann."

Qin Haochen regretted it.

He should have barged into the hospital and held the little girl, comforting her properly.

Instead, he was now separated by a phone screen, unable to even wipe away her tears.

Ye Yanzhi saw the little girl wiping her tears secretly and felt a pang in his heart.

He wanted to scold Qin Haochen.

How could he be so harsh on his granddaughter?

But he didn’t do that, nor did he stop Qin Haochen’s words.

It was extremely dangerous for the little girl to go out alone today.

If it hadn’t been for Assistant Lucy getting out of the car to check, no one would have known what accidents could have happened.

Glancing at the time, feeling that the father and daughter had been on the phone for a long time, Ye Yanzhi also wanted to comfort the little girl.

He pretended to speak to himself and said, "They should have arrived at the Qin Corporation by now."

As soon as Qin Sui’an heard this, she immediately looked at the scenery behind her daddy on the screen.

It seemed like they had arrived, as the car wasn’t moving.

In her sweet and childish voice, she said, "Daddy, go and be busy! When Ann wins many, many competitions and earns lots of money, Daddy won’t have to go to work anymore!"

"Okay."

Qin Haochen couldn’t help but smile.

Reluctantly bidding farewell to his little girl, he ended the call.

It’s okay, he could pick up his little girl later in the evening.

He convinced himself like this, trying to keep his emotions from being too low.

Ye Yanzhi took out a handkerchief and tenderly cradled Ann, gently wiping away the lingering tears on her face.

"Ann, are you sad?"

Qin Sui’an shook her little head.

"Not sad. Daddy is right, Ann shouldn’t go out alone, it’s dangerous."

"Good girl."

Ye Yanzhi softly patted her small body, recalling the conversation she had with Qin Haochen earlier, he asked, "What competition is Ann participating in?"

"A chess competition!"

Qin Sui’an’s eyes lit up, tilting her face upwards, she joyfully exclaimed, "Grandfather, Ann is participating in a chess competition. If I get first place, I’ll earn money! Ann has already won one match! I have a packet of money!"

Unfortunately, she didn’t bring the red envelope containing the prize money with her, otherwise, she would have shown it to her grandfather.

"Ann is so amazing, winning a chess competition at such a young age."

Ye Yanzhi was extremely astonished.

In the room, Old Madam Ye happened to walk out from inside.

"Ann knows how to play chess?"

"Yes!"

Qin Sui’an’s round eyes curved, "Grandpa Ji said that Ann is very skilled at chess!"

Ye Yanzhi furrowed his brow in confusion.

"Grandpa Ji? This surname sounds familiar like I’ve heard it somewhere."

"Ann is probably referring to Ji Yi," Old Madam Ye sat down beside Ann, "If Ji Yi personally praises Ann, then she must be truly talented."

Ye Yanzhi remembered, "Ji Yi, he’s still pondering over chess? I thought he would have retired by now."

The two of them were old classmates and rarely kept in touch.

In his opinion, Ji Yi was just a chess fanatic, always revolving around chess day in and day out.

He never expected that even at his age, he would still be engrossed in chess.

Old Madam Ye glared at him.

"You haven’t retired either, so how can you criticize others?"

"Well, I have too much free time," Ye Yanzhi chuckled, then turned to Ann and asked, "Ann, did he mention anything about taking you as his disciple?"

"Yes," Qin Sui’an earnestly replied, "But Ann already has a master."

He was surprised and instinctively asked, "Who?"

Although Ji Yi had a difficult personality, there was no doubt that he was an outstanding figure in the world of chess. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Emm... emm..." Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes, struggling to find the words.

Old Madam Ye reached out and took Ann from his embrace.

"All right, there’s no need to ask so clearly. Whoever taught Ann so well must be an extraordinary person."

Qin Sui’an vigorously nodded her little head.

"Yes, very extraordinary!"

Ye Yanzhi laughed. "All right, I won’t ask anymore."

On a whim, he asked Jie Hansi to buy a chess set, wanting to play with Ann.
