Ye Yanzhi’s eyes filled with joy as he reached out and directly took Ann from his third son’s arms.
"So it’s Ann who has come."
He turned around, carrying Ann as he walked inside as if suddenly remembering the presence of another person.
He turned back and said, "Close the door."
"Okay." Ye Rongyuan walked into the lounge and closed the door.
The layout of the lounge was similar to the adjacent ward, with a living room and a bedroom, but it lacked medical equipment and had a more homely decor.
Old Madam Ye had just taken a nap and was regaining her composure in the room when she heard her granddaughter’s voice and walked out from inside.
Seeing the exhaustion on her face, Ye Rongyuan approached with concern, "Mom, are you feeling unwell?"
"I’m a bit tired, just need to rest for a while."
Old Madam Ye gently shook her head, then looked at Ann in his arms, unable to contain her smile, appearing more spirited.
Ye Rongyuan furrowed his brows slightly, "Mom..."
Old Madam Ye interrupted him, "It’s all right, I’m fine. After dinner, I’ll take another nap."
Ye Rongyuan hesitated for a moment, then temporarily skipped that topic and brought up something that would make them happy, "Ann just told me that she wants to stay here with her sister tonight."
Both Ye Yanzhi and Old Madam Ye exclaimed in unison, "Really?"
Qin Sui’an nodded her little head, "Really!"
Ye Rongyuan also nodded, "Of course it’s true."
Old Madam Ye visibly brightened up and immediately said, "Then we should have Lucy prepare a new bed to place next to Chaosi’s bed."
"No need, Mom. I just asked Jie Hansi to buy one."
Ye Rongyuan smiled, "It’s adorable and pink!"
Old Madam Ye glanced at him and asked, "Is it your preference or Ann’s?"
"Ann said either is fine. She’s not picky at all, very easy to please."
As he spoke, his hand pinched Ann’s chubby cheeks.
Qin Sui’an tilted her head and giggled.
Old Madam Ye looked at her husband, "Yanzhi, why don’t you go with Jie Hansi to pick some daily necessities for the children?"
"Okay." Ye Yanzhi nodded in agreement.
Old Madam Ye then looked at her third son, "Why don’t you go too?"
"Me? Sure!"
Ye Rongyuan readily agreed, feeling excited at the thought of personally buying things for Ann.
Father and son walked out one after the other.
Just before closing the door, Ye Rongyuan suddenly remembered something and stuck his head back in, asking, "Does Ann need to wear diapers?"
Old Madam Ye turned to look at Ann.
Qin Sui’an puffed up her chubby cheeks and solemnly declared, "Third Uncle, Ann doesn’t need diapers. Ann is three and a half years old!"
Ye Rongyuan was amused by her indignant expression and ran back to pinch her little cheeks, "All right, all right, Ann doesn’t need diapers. That’s great!"
Old Madam Ye, fearing he might be too rough, quickly swatted his hand away, "Children have delicate skin, be careful not to hurt Ann."
"I won’t, Mom."
Ye Rongyuan walked out of the room again, "Let’s go shopping now, see you later."
The door closed.
Old Madam Ye sat on the sofa, holding Ann.
"Ann, did you tell your dad? About staying here tonight."
"I told him. Daddy said he’s busy with work and can’t stay here with Ann."
Qin Sui’an touched the silver bracelet on her wrist, murmuring, "Daddy also wants to stay here, Ann knows."
Old Madam Ye raised her hand and gently stroked her head.
Her gaze shifted downward, looking at the pair of silver bracelets on Ann’s thin wrists.
"Ann, are these silver bracelets good for you?"
"Huh?" Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes in confusion as if trying hard to understand what Grandma was saying.
Old Madam Ye didn’t rush and patiently waited.
After a while, Qin Sui’an nodded lightly, "The silver bracelets are very obedient! and they feel warm!"
She glanced at the silver bracelets and added, "But they get tired in the morning, so they’re not warm anymore and don’t glow."
Old Madam Ye asked softly, "Normally, it emits a gentle glow and feels warm to the touch, is that correct?"
"Yes!"
Qin Sui’an happily tilted her little face upwards, raising both of her hands as if presenting a treasure.
"Grandmother, the silver bracelet is even more amazing! It can heal the injured fist of Sixth Brother!"
Old Madam Ye looked at her silver bracelet thoughtfully.
Qin Sui’an, in a childish voice, said, "Sixth Brother saw it too! He told Ann that this should not be told to others! It’s a secret."
Upon hearing this, Old Madam Ye couldn’t help but smile.
"Then why did Ann tell grandmother? It’s supposed to be a secret."
Qin Sui’an’s lips curled upwards.
"Grandmother is not an outsider, grandmother can know."
"Very well."
Old Madam Ye’s mood brightened even more due to the little one’s words.
"However, your Sixth Brother is right, Ann, this matter should not be known by outsiders, it’s a secret."
She nodded her little head vigorously.
"Yes! Ann knows Ann won’t tell anyone!"
Except for her family, she wouldn’t tell anyone.
Old Madam Ye’s expression softened.
"Good girl."
Suddenly, Qin Sui’an remembered something and pursed her lips in distress.
Old Madam Ye noticed and asked softly, "Ann, what’s wrong?"
She whispered, "The silver bracelet must be very hungry today, but Ann didn’t come home and couldn’t give it spiritual energy to eat."
"Where does Ann usually collect spiritual energy for it to eat?"
"In the flower bushes in the garden. The big white goose said there is a bush with abundant spiritual energy that can satisfy the silver bracelet’s hunger."
Qin Sui’an said earnestly, "Ann goes to the flower bushes every day to let the silver bracelet eat its fill."
"I see."
Old Madam Ye understood completely.
The Qin family possessed such a precious place, truly remarkable.
Old Madam Ye comforted her, saying, "Ann, the silver bracelet doesn’t need to go to the flower bushes every day to consume spiritual energy. In the place where we live, there is always some spiritual energy present, although not as obvious as in that cluster of bushes."
Qin Sui’an heard such words for the first time and blinked her round eyes in confusion.
"Is that true?"
"Yes."
Old Madam Ye picked her up and walked to the small table by the sofa in the living room, where a pot of vibrant and dewy roses sat.
"Ann, extend your hands here."
Qin Sui’an followed her instructions and reached out her hands toward the flower pot.
In the next moment, the silver bracelet on her wrist emitted a faint gleam.
She widened her eyes in astonishment.
"Grandmother, there is spiritual energy here!"
"Yes."
Old Madam Ye explained softly, "Spiritual energy is everywhere."
"Grandmother is amazing!"
Qin Sui’an was very curious and looked at her grandmother.
"How does grandmother know that there is more spiritual energy here?"
