Chapter 200: Denying What is Desired

Qin Huo snorted lightly, "I know, I’m not a three-year-old child anymore."

Qin Yanyi looked at his grandmother again, "Grandma, you too."

Lan Jin chuckled, "All right, we’re not lazy, we just don’t want to tire ourselves out."

Qin Haochen entered the living room, holding Ann in his arms.

Seeing their smiling faces, he knew that the test results were good.

He bent down and gently placed Ann in his embrace.

Qin Sui’an immediately ran over, "Grandpa, Grandma!"

She was first embraced by her grandmother, her round eyes earnestly examining her grandmother’s face, "Grandma, are you not sick?"

Lan Jin smiled and ruffled her little head, "No, Grandma is very healthy!"

Qin Sui’an then looked at her grandfather beside her, "Grandpa, are you not sick either?"

Qin Huo listened to her adorable voice and laughed, "Haha, I’m not sick at all."

Qin Sui’an patted her little stomach and sighed in relief, "That’s great."

Qin Haochen sat on the sofa and picked up the test result report on the table.

He couldn’t fully understand the professional terms, but he could grasp the general meaning.

The report showed no abnormalities, confirming a state of excellent health.

He then looked at his father’s previously injured leg, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

They had consulted several renowned doctors before, but the results were not promising.

Yet, yesterday, he woke up without any pain or discomfort, as if the injury had vanished.

It was almost like a miracle had occurred.

Qin Yanyi noticed his gaze and whispered, "Dad, Grandpa’s leg examination came back completely normal."

"Okay."

Qin Haochen could only convince himself that indeed, a miracle had happened.

Suddenly, Qin Huo remembered something and took out his phone while speaking, "Haochen, Ji Yi sent the schedule for a few upcoming competitions. If Ann wants to participate, he can arrange for her to join."

Qin Haochen took the phone and glanced at it, pausing, "City-level, provincial-level competitions? National-level competitions?"

Wouldn’t the last one be too demanding for little Ann?

Qin Haochen didn’t doubt Ann’s abilities, but he felt that she was still young.

Occasionally participating in small-scale competitions for entertainment purposes would be sufficient.

Rising to the national level would bring a different atmosphere, and he worried that Ann might feel pressured.

Seeing his furrowed brow, Qin Huo knew that his thoughts aligned with his own, "I also think Ji Yi went a bit too far. I haven’t given him a clear answer yet."

Qin Sui’an perked up her little ears, listening attentively.

She raised her small hand and spoke, "Grandpa, Daddy, is it a chess competition?"

Qin Huo nodded, seeing her bright and shining eyes, he smiled and asked, "Does Ann want to participate in the competition?"

Instead of immediately agreeing, Qin Sui’an asked, "Is there a prize?"

Qin Huo nodded again, "Of course, there is."

Qin Sui’an immediately exclaimed excitedly, "Then Ann wants to participate! She wants to win and get the prize!"

Qin Haochen couldn’t help but laugh and cry.

He hugged Ann tightly in his arms, "Does Ann want money? Daddy can give it to you."

Qin Sui’an vigorously shook her little head, "Okay! Ann doesn’t want Daddy’s money, Ann wants to earn her own!"

"All right."

Qin Haochen sighed, pondered for a moment, and said, "Then let’s start with smaller competitions, and we’ll see about the rest later."

Qin Huo took back his phone, "Okay, I’ll let Ji Yi know. He keeps urging us all the time. He has so many disciples, why is he always thinking about our Ann?"

He grumbled, but his tone couldn’t hide his pride.

It was because he recognized little Ann’s talent by Ji Yi that he insisted on having her participate in the competition, saying that it would be a waste not to utilize her exceptional abilities.

Whether it was a waste or not, to Qin Huo, his granddaughter’s happiness and willingness were the most important things.

Upon receiving his reply, Ji Yi immediately reported Ann’s name as well.

She even wanted to secretly register for a national-level competition, but she was afraid that if Qin Huo found out, it would strain their relationship.

So she suppressed this impulse.

After registering for the competition, Qin Sui’an, although considering chess to be simple and winning games to be easy, would set aside half an hour before or after dinner to play in the chess room, ensuring a more stable chance of winning the prize money.

Initially, her daddy, brothers, and grandparents took turns playing chess with her.

Later, it became Ann playing against herself.

When Grandpa, who had been absent for a while, returned, he found Ann alone in the chess room.

Her family members didn’t disturb her and sat in the living room, watching the surveillance footage of the chess room.

As her great-grandpa floated into the chess room, contemplating how to greet Ann, he saw her suddenly raise her head and look in his direction.

Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes, staring at the misty figure.

"Huh?" What was that? It seemed so familiar.

In the next second, the silver bracelet on her wrist emitted a warm glow.

The mist gradually revealed its "true identity".

It was an old grandpa with a white, bushy beard, no feet, no shadow, and no hair! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Grandpa was so nervous that his soul trembled. He cautiously approached Ann and asked softly, "Ann! Do you still remember me?"

"It’s Great-grandpa!"

Qin Sui’an recognized his voice and happily curved her round pupils.

The old man was relieved that Ann hadn’t forgotten him.

Suddenly, he paused, "What did you call me?"

Ann already knew her identity. When did she find out?

He thought only that exiled great-grandson knew.

"Great-grandpa! Sixth Brother and Eldest Brother said you are Great-grandpa!"

Qin Sui’an smiled, pointing at his bald head.

"Great-grandpa doesn’t have hair!"

The old man was taken aback again and instinctively touched his bald head.

He cleared his throat and stroked his white beard with a sense of importance.

"Well, you see, as the saying goes, being exceptionally clever, I am just too clever, so I don’t have hair."

"Oh!!!"

Qin Sui’an believed him and quickly reached out to touch her little head.

"That’s good, Ann isn’t too clever!"

Compared to being "too clever", she would rather have hair.

The old man looked puzzled.

"Ann, how can you see me again?"

The last time he remembered, Ann could only see his soul.

Qin Sui’an innocently shook her little head.

"I don’t know! Suddenly, I could see slowly!"

The old man glanced at her wrist, where the silver bracelet continued to emit a glow.

He had visited the underworld and specifically searched through old records, but he hadn’t come across anything similar to this marvelous silver bracelet.

Therefore, it must exist in the mortal realm.

Qin Sui’an noticed Great-grandpa’s gaze on her silver bracelet and instinctively covered it, protecting it like a treasure.

"Mommy and Daddy gave it to Ann! Even if Great-grandpa wants it, Ann won’t give it!"
