Chapter 250: Like a Novice Yet Like a Master

Ou Yangfu almost lost his balance and hastily grabbed Ye Rongyuan next to him to steady himself.

He widened his eyes in shock, "Am I hearing this right? One million one hundred thousand?"

Wasn’t that exactly the price he paid for the painting he bought?

Was it a coincidence, or...

His expression had already betrayed his inner thoughts. Ye Rongyuan glanced at him and explained, "It’s not a coincidence. You spent one million one hundred thousand to buy Ann’s painting as a gift for someone, and Ann felt that she should spend the same amount on her gifts."

Ou Yangfu gasped and whispered, "I spent one million one hundred thousand because Ann’s painting was worth it!"

Of course, this statement didn’t mean that he thought his father wasn’t worthy of receiving a birthday gift worth one million one hundred thousand, but rather that the little one had a great misunderstanding about gift-giving.

Ye Rongyuan remained calm, not thinking that the gift Ann gave was too extravagant. One million one hundred thousand was nothing to them.

Old Mr. Ou’s hand trembled as he held the document. "This... this gift is too precious!"

Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes in confusion and said in her cute little milk voice, "Uncle Crazy gave Grandpa Ou a painting worth one million one hundred thousand too! It’s the same!"

"Uncle Crazy?" Old Mr. Ou turned to look at his own son.

How did his son become "Uncle Crazy"? Well, it didn’t matter.

Old Mr. Ou looked at the little one in front of him with tender eyes and said softly, "Ann, just a bottle of milk from you would be enough. A dairy farm worth one million one hundred thousand is really too precious!"

Qin Sui’an slowly furrowed her little brows and raised her head with a tremble in her voice, "Does Grandpa Ou not like the gift Ann gave?"

"How could that be!" Old Mr. Ou quickly shook his head when he saw her, "I like it very much! Very much! Among all the birthday gifts I’ve received, I like the one Ann gave me the most!"

"Grandpa Ou doesn’t need to comfort Ann." Qin Sui’an’s expression drooped, as if her beautiful dress was no longer sparkling, and she dimmed along with her little master.

Old Mr. Ou’s heart suddenly felt as if it had been heavily pounded, uncomfortably so.

He immediately tightened his grip on the document and carefully put it back into the bag. Then, he said seriously, "Ann, I really like the gift you gave me. It’s the most thoughtful gift I’ve ever received. I’ll gladly accept this gift!"

Qin Sui’an lifted her little face, her voice trembling, "Really?"

"Really!" Old Mr. Ou smiled and assured her, "From now on, I’ll drink a glass, no, two glasses of milk every day! I’ll only drink the milk from the dairy farm you gave me! I won’t touch any other milk!"

When Qin Sui’an heard Grandpa Ou say this, her round eyes curved, and her small body seemed to be filled with happiness in an instant, even the strands of hair on her head stood up slightly, exuding a sense of joy.

She giggled, her laughter sweet like honey.

Old Mr. Ou’s smile deepened even more. He wished he could pick up the adorable little one.

After giving the gift, little one’s "task" for attending the banquet today was over. Old Madam Ye led little one away from the crowd, not wanting to delay Old Mr. Ou’s socializing with others.

Qin Sui’an’s little steps bounced happily, not hiding her joy at all, "Grandma, Grandpa Ou said he really likes Ann’s gift!"

"Yes, he likes it very much." Old Madam Ye smiled, infected by her good mood, "Ann picked a wonderful gift."

"Hehe~" Qin Sui’an’s round eyes were bright and sparkled with tiny dots of light.

The banquet was not over yet. After Old Mr. Ou finished receiving the gifts, the stage was rearranged, and the music band played melodious tunes for the guests to dance to.

Seeing little one looking eagerly at the guests dancing in the middle of the large lawn, Ye Liyuan approached and asked, "Does Ann want to dance?"

Qin Sui’an hesitated and pursed her lips, "Uncle, Ann doesn’t know how to dance by herself."

Last time at the banquet, she danced with her dad and her brothers because she was too small to reach the adults’ shoulders.

"It’s okay, I’ll hold you." Ye Liyuan reached out and picked up little one.

Just like last time, little one danced simple dances with her second uncle and third uncle, enjoying herself immensely.

Old Madam Ye and Old Master Ye also danced beside them, enjoying themselves.

Until a little after nine in the evening, Qin Sui’an was exhausted from playing and was held in her grandmother’s arms. Before the end of the banquet, they left the Ou family estate ahead of schedule.

Old Mr. Ou and his sons stood at the door as usual, personally seeing off the Ye family.

Qin Sui’an leaned on her grandmother’s shoulder, raised her little hand, and waved happily towards the Ou family, saying, "Grandpa Ou, bye-bye~ Uncle Ou, Uncle Crazy, bye-bye~"

"Goodbye, Ann!"

"Ann, come play with us whenever you have time!"

After bidding farewell to the Ou family, Old Madam Ye first placed little one in the child seat in the back and fastened her seatbelt.

One by one, the Ye family got into the car and, under the watchful gaze of the Ou family, drove away from the Ou family estate.

The Maserati drove smoothly.

Qin Sui’an’s petite body was dozing off in the child seat. She struggled to lift her heavy eyelids, the excitement from attending the banquet still lingering. "Grandma, Grandpa Ou really likes Ann!"

Old Madam Ye moved closer to little one and held her swaying little head, her voice tinged with a hint of indulgent smile, "Everyone likes Ann."

Qin Sui’an suddenly remembered something and smiled, pursing her lips, "Uncle Crazy’s lollipop is delicious~ Grandpa Ou’s cake is delicious too~"

"You little glutton." Old Madam Ye couldn’t help but chuckle and tapped her little nose with her finger. "Ann, go to sleep, we’ll be there soon."

Qin Sui’an was indeed feeling tired, but she wanted to be back with her mom and also wanted to call her dad to tell him about the banquet. This was her first time attending someone else’s banquet, so she had a lot on her mind. She only managed to mumble, "Mommy... Daddy..."

With those unfinished words in her mind, she entered dreamland.

Old Madam Ye carefully adjusted her position to make her more comfortable.

When they arrived back at the hospital, little one was sound asleep.

Ye Liyuan first carried little one out of the car and then carried her upstairs.

Ye Rongyuan walked beside them, and his phone suddenly vibrated. It was a message from Ou Yangfu.

He glanced at it briefly and then lowered his voice, "Mom, Dad, Ou Yangfu transferred one million one hundred thousand to me, saying he felt sorry for accepting such an expensive gift from Ann."

Old Master Ye also lowered his voice, "Let the Ou family accept it. This is Ann’s sincerity."

"Okay." Ye Rongyuan relayed the message to Ou Yangfu and returned the money.

---

The Ou family’s banquet lasted until after eleven in the evening. Old Mr. Ou, being elderly, retired to his villa to rest first, leaving his other sons to continue entertaining the guests.

Old Mr. Ou instructed the servants to hang the painting his youngest son gave him on the wall of the first-floor living room, then went to his room to freshen up.

When he came out again, the painting was already hung on the wall.

A smile adorned his face, almost never leaving his lips throughout the entire night. With his hands crossed behind his back, he looked very satisfied as he stared at the painting on the wall.

His youngest son might not be very capable in other areas, but when it came to pleasing him, he did better than his other sons.

It’s just that he didn’t know which painter his son had hired. Although Old Mr. Ou’s study contained many works by famous artists, he wasn’t an expert in painting, but after seeing so many, he could still understand a thing or two.

The strokes of this painting were just right, and it seemed that the painter knew exactly what the entire painting would depict from the first stroke, executed with a sense of completeness and fluency.

Yet, it gave Old Mr. Ou a very youthful feeling. To say it was the work of a novice, the painting was so perfect that it surpassed what a novice could accomplish. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Footsteps were heard outside, and someone entered the living room, followed by a casual voice:

"Dad, are you still reluctant to rest? This painting is already yours, it’s not going anywhere. Come see it tomorrow." Ou Yangfu walked in with a smile, his face flushed from alcohol.

Old Mr. Ou turned to look at him, disdainful of his drunken appearance, "You have no sense of propriety. If you can’t handle your liquor, don’t imitate your brothers."

"I didn’t drink much, just three or four shots?" Ou Yangfu put his arm around his father’s shoulder and looked at the painting on the wall, "Isn’t it beautiful? It’s no wonder it’s painted by the little artist, it’s amazing!"

Old Mr. Ou immediately asked, "little artist? Who?"
