Chapter 265: The Intentions of a Great Painter

The café door suddenly swung open with the tinkling of the bell. A waiter approached and saw a lively little one and a tall, handsome man.

Before the waiter could enthusiastically inquire, a voice filled with excitement yet deliberately restrained spoke from behind, "Ann!"

The waiter tactfully stepped back, knowing they had come together, but couldn’t help but linger on little one for a few seconds.

This little one was truly adorable!

When Ou Yangfu saw Ye Rongyuan and little one enter the café together, he was dumbfounded at first, then enveloped in ecstatic emotions. Ou Yangfu stood up abruptly, walking towards them with an extremely cheerful stride.

He completely ignored the tall Ye Rongyuan, squatting down to meet little one at eye level, speaking in a ridiculously cheerful tone, "Ann, good afternoon! Do you remember who I am?" Afraid that little one might not remember him, Ou Yangfu kindly reminded, "We met last night!"

Qin Sui’an blinked her big round eyes, her childish voice gently rising, soft and tender, "I know, you’re Uncle Crazy. Good afternoon, Uncle Crazy!"

Ou Yangfu’s heart melted at little one’s words. He grinned broadly, unable to contain his overwhelming joy. "Ann has such a good memory, she actually remembers me!"

Although she still called him "Uncle Crazy," which was rather awkward.

But that was okay, he would take it as little one’s unique nickname for him!

No one else could have it!

Ye Rongyuan silently lowered his head and glanced at Ou Yangfu, who was grinning foolishly at his little one. Suppressing the urge to roll his eyes, Ye Rongyuan said, "Can you act normally?"

As if just realizing someone else was there, Ou Yangfu looked up at him. "Hey," he exclaimed in surprise, "you’re here too."

"What do you mean ’you’re here too’?" Ye Rongyuan wanted to kick him in frustration. "Didn’t you say you had urgent business to discuss with me?"

"Oh right, right," Ou Yangfu chuckled twice.

Ye Rongyuan slightly bent over, pulling little one into his arms, and glanced around the café.

Ou Yangfu immediately caught on and hurriedly said, "Sit over there, by the window."

He led them to a table and sat down, then promptly asked the waiter for a menu, handing it to little one with a cheerful smile, "Ann, would you like some dessert? Or maybe some juice? It’s on me!"

Qin Sui’an had actually just finished lunch not long ago and had come out with her third uncle to take a walk and digest.

But the desserts on the menu were so pretty and looked delicious. Qin Sui’an couldn’t help but salivate a little. In her soft, childish voice, she said, "Ann isn’t hungry, Ann just ate."

But Ann was tempted.

Her chubby little face couldn’t hide her thoughts, and Ou Yangfu chuckled, saying, "Then we can order now and eat slowly later. No rush."

Ye Rongyuan rubbed little one’s head gently and said softly, "Ann, go ahead and order. If you can’t finish, Third Uncle will help you so it won’t go to waste."

With these words from her third uncle, Qin Sui’an smiled happily, her round eyes shining brightly. She flipped through the large menu seriously, finally choosing a slice of strawberry cake and a glass of orange juice.

Ou Yangfu added a few more cute desserts to the order before handing the menu back to the waiter.

Resting his chin on his hands, Ou Yangfu looked at little one with a smile on his face. Just looking at her made him feel like the world was so beautiful.

Ye Rongyuan couldn’t take it anymore. Under the table, he kicked Ou Yangfu, saying, "What are you daydreaming about? Didn’t you have something to tell me? Spit it out."

"Oh right," Ou Yangfu cleared his throat, about to speak, but suddenly stopped, glancing at little one, then back at Ye Rongyuan, "It’s about Ann..."

He hesitated.

As if knowing what he wanted to say, Ye Rongyuan said, "Go ahead, Ann isn’t a stranger. She’s family. You can tell her."

Qin Sui’an looked at her third uncle with shining eyes, obviously delighted by his words, her little legs swinging in the air.

Ou Yangfu still had some concerns and reminded Ye Rongyuan, "It’s related to Ann."

"In that case, you’re here for the right person," Ye Rongyuan said, reaching out to gently pinch little one’s chubby cheek. "Since Ann is here, let’s hear what it’s about together."

Qin Sui’an puffed out her little belly, her round eyes curved into a crescent moon as she said, "Let’s listen together."

Seeing little one so adorable, Ou Yangfu couldn’t help but smile. "Okay, then I’ll tell you."

After last night’s banquet, Ou Yangfu had prepared himself mentally, guessing that many people would come to ask him about the artist behind the painting.

Indeed, his phone was almost blown up with calls, so he had to switch to airplane mode to avoid them.

What surprised him was that among those who came to inquire, there were unexpectedly some he hadn’t anticipated.

At this point, Ou Yangfu deliberately paused, looking at Ye Rongyuan. "Guess who it was?"

Ye Rongyuan looked at him expressionlessly.

Ou Yangfu coughed immediately and didn’t tease him any longer. He said directly, "It was Master Zhu Xiulin."

Ye Rongyuan furrowed his brows slightly; the name sounded familiar.

Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes and obediently raised her hand, her innocent voice curious, "Uncle Crazy, is it the amazing painter Master Zhu Xiulin that the uncles and aunties at the banquet talked about?"

Upon hearing little one’s words, Ye Rongyuan suddenly realized: So that’s why it sounded familiar. It turned out to be the famous painter Zhu Xiulin.

Ou Yangfu looked at Qin Sui’an in surprise. "Yes, that’s the talented artist. Ann is really amazing to guess right!"

A sweet smile curved Qin Sui’an’s lips. "Hehe, Ann guessed it right."

Ye Rongyuan, infected by her adorable smile, also chuckled. Then he asked Ou Yangfu, "What does he want with our Ann?"

"I didn’t ask," Ou Yangfu shook his head in bewilderment. "When I heard it was Master Zhu Xiulin, I was stunned. He asked me if I could reveal who painted that painting. I promised you not to say, so I didn’t answer him and came to find you first."

Ye Rongyuan clicked his tongue at him. "You should have asked first."

Regardless of whether this was a famous painter or a great immortal, Ye Rongyuan would never rashly expose little one’s identity.

Feeling a bit embarrassed by his oversight, Ou Yangfu said, "I forgot to ask. Should I call back now and find out?"
