Chapter 281: Boyce

When Ou Yangfu called Ye Rongyuan, Ye Rongyuan was busy in the CEO’s office of the Ye Group. During the days he spent with little one, he had completed all the tasks that could be handled in advance, postponing those that couldn’t. These were some of his busiest days. He could hardly spare a moment to pick up his phone, leaving it on speakerphone at his desk and pressing it to answer, "Just get to the point, I’m busy."

Ou Yangfu knew Ye Rongyuan was the CEO of a group and had a lot on his plate, so he didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point, "Mr Zhu Xiulin seems to have found out that your daughter Ann is the painter he’s been looking for! I swear, I didn’t leak any information about Ann, including her age!"

Who could have guessed that the painting was done by little one, who was only three years old? This was also why Ou Yangfu was shocked. How did Mr Zhu Xiulin know, and how did he know so accurately that it was Ann ?

Ye Rongyuan paused his flipping through files and glanced at his phone, "He knows? What did he say?"

"Just now, one minute ago, Mr Zhu Xiulin called me and directly asked if the painting was done by the young lady from the Qin family. I was completely caught off guard!" Ou Yangfu said, reiterating once again, "I really didn’t reveal Ann’s identity. I’m also curious about how Mr Zhu Xiulin found out."

Ye Rongyuan furrowed his brows slightly. He remembered his assistant mentioning that the Qin family had purchased tickets to Mr Zhu Xiulin’s art exhibition, and this afternoon, Old Mrs Qin had taken little one to see the exhibition. Ye Rongyuan had an answer in mind. Perhaps little one met Mr Zhu Xiulin at the exhibition, and Mr Zhu Xiulin, being an artist, might have discerned something.

"I’ll look into this on my end," Ye Rongyuan glanced at the time, "I’ll get back to you in a few days. I’m quite busy these days."

"Okay, keep yourself busy," Ou Yangfu didn’t want to take up more of his time unnecessarily, ending the call promptly after discussing business.

He couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. Before, Ye Rongyuan had been as carefree as he was, never imagining he would become the CEO of a large group so suddenly. It seemed he couldn’t even find time to hang out now. Ou Yangfu almost felt tempted to work harder in his own family’s group, but it was just a fleeting thought. He still felt like he could play around a bit more. If it weren’t for Ye Rongyuan’s sister having an accident, he doubted Ye Rongyuan would have changed so drastically.

Thinking about this, Ou Yangfu thought of his sister’s daughter, the adorable little one. Not for anything else, he also hoped little one’s mother would wake up soon.

The Maserati left the parking lot of the art exhibition and headed towards Bay Villa.

Qin Sui’an obediently sat in her child safety seat.

After spending the afternoon at the art exhibition, her small body was beginning to run low on "battery." Her round eyes slowly blinked less frequently, her eyelids gradually growing heavy.

Old Mrs Qin busied herself pouring milk for her granddaughter and handed her the bottle, "Ann, drink slowly. We’ll have dinner when we get home."

Qin Sui’an blinked drowsily, holding onto the bottle with both hands, sweetly saying, "Thank you, Grandma~"

"You are welcome," Old Mrs Qin looked at her granddaughter with indulgence, gently rubbing her little head.

As the milk in the bottle dwindled, so did little one’s ability to stay awake. She drifted off to sleep.

Old Mrs Qin carefully took away the bottle and brought out a cute bunny plush pillow to support her granddaughter’s head, preventing her from straining her neck while sleeping.

Old Mrs Qin glanced at the clock in the car and asked Lucy in a low voice, "How much longer until we reach Bay Villa?"

Lucy also lowered her voice and replied, "Madam, about twenty minutes."

Old Mrs Qin nodded gently and instructed her, "Have Bay Villa prepare dinner ahead of time."

"Yes, Madam," Lucy immediately took out her phone and made the arrangements.

Meanwhile...

Four luxury cars entered the flow of traffic one after another, their license plates seemingly random but coincidentally ending in "1."

The cars were large, plain black Volkswagens, but that did not diminish their presence. They attracted curious looks from passing vehicles despite their low profile.

The windows of the four luxury cars were covered with anti-peeping black film, making it impossible to see who was sitting in the back seats from the front windshield. Occasionally, glimpses could be caught of the serious-looking men in black suits sitting in the driver’s and passenger seats.

However, no one could see who was in the rear seats of these luxury cars or who their owners were.

At the traffic light ahead, the red light came on.

The four luxury cars came to a stop.

Just then, the Maserati, also waiting at the red light, stopped as well.

Old Mrs Qin inadvertently glanced to the side and immediately saw these four unusually dark luxury cars.

She frowned involuntarily and whispered to Lucy, "Keep an eye on them."

If she were alone, Old Mrs Qin would never be so cautious about passing unfamiliar vehicles. However, this time she was with her granddaughter, so she had to be careful.

Lucy also saw the four luxury cars next to them and immediately agreed, "Yes, Madam."

It was nearly 6 o’clock in the evening, and the sun had not yet set. The orange-red sunset slanted across the road, keeping the temperature warm. With the red light, the surroundings seemed to be paused momentarily, granting a brief moment of tranquility.

In the second luxury car.

Even sitting inside the car, the man’s tall and slender figure was still apparent.

He had a refined and clean appearance, dressed in a simple yet expensive black shirt. He looked young and noble, exuding a natural coldness that gave off an aura not to be underestimated.

His expression was indifferent, but his eyes seemed to catch something. He slightly turned his head and saw the Maserati parked alongside them.

The Maserati was a dark green color.

It looked somewhat familiar.

The man lightly parted his thin lips, his voice calm and gentle, but his eyes sharp, "Whose car is that?"

One of the men sitting in the front passenger seat turned his head to look, then respectfully replied, "Boyce, it’s the car of Qin Corporation, the two elders of the Qin family."

"The Qin family?" The man’s expression suddenly became unreadable. He looked again at the dark green Maserati parked nearby.

The Maserati’s windows were also covered with anti-peeping film, completely obscuring the view of whoever was inside.

He withdrew his gaze.

Thanks to the "fortune" of the Qin family, his sister was still unconscious, and his niece’s whereabouts were unknown. Just these two things were enough for him to regard the Qin family as enemies.

The man’s face darkened.

The two subordinates sitting in the driver’s and passenger seats felt the sudden oppressive atmosphere in the car and were frightened to the point that they didn’t dare to breathe loudly, lowering their presence cautiously.

The red light turned green, and the temporarily halted vehicles began moving again.

Inside the Maserati, Old Mrs Qin couldn’t determine who owned the four black luxury cars beside them. She didn’t want her granddaughter to encounter any potential danger, so she cautiously instructed the driver, "Let’s take a detour."

Avoiding the row of unidentified black luxury cars was the safest plan.

"Yes, Madam," the driver immediately signaled and turned right into another road while the light was green.

The Maserati and the four black luxury cars thus went their separate ways.

The man sitting in the back seat glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the Maserati suddenly change lanes and take a different route.

If he remembered correctly, the Qin family’s Bay Villa was straight ahead, the most direct and convenient route.

Hmm.

So they were avoiding him.

A cold smile crossed the man’s lips.

The atmosphere in the car plummeted to freezing point, as if winter had arrived.
