Little Ann’s soft and tender words made Zhu Xiulin couldn’t help but smile. It also strengthened his determination—he wanted to be Little Ann’s art teacher, her mentor.
Zhu Xiulin looked at Mr. Qin again, his expression serious and his attitude firm, "Mr. Qin, please rest assured, I will not retire. I will continue on this path."
Qin Haochen silently watched him.
Zhu Xiulin’s sincerity was undisguised, his words were sincere and unquestionable.
Qin Haochen remained silent, looking down at Little Ann in his arms. Clearly, he had no objections anymore; the rest depended on Little Ann’s wishes.
Zhu Xiulin knew he had passed Mr. Qin’s test and he breathed a sigh of relief.
But then he gathered his courage again, unable to hide his nervousness, and looked at Little Ann, "Ann, I want to take you as my disciple, can I?"
Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes, puzzled, "Uncle means... Uncle wants to be Ann’s master?"
Zhu Xiulin nodded, "Yes, that’s what I mean. I want to be your master, to teach you art. Is that okay?"
"But—" Little Ann furrowed her cute little brows, twisting her lovely little fingers, "But Ann already has two masters."
Little Ann’s words struck Zhu Xiulin like a thunderbolt.
He was dumbfounded, stuttering, "Ann, you... you already have masters?"
Qin Sui’an raised her index finger and middle finger, "Yes, Ann has two masters."
"Oh, I... did I come too late?" Zhu Xiulin wanted to pound his chest and stamp his feet in regret. He should have recognized Little Ann earlier and taken her as his disciple sooner!
Seeing him despair, Qin Haochen explained, "Ann has two masters—one teaches her chess, and the other teaches her piano."
This pulled Zhu Xiulin’s drifting soul back.
Zhu Xiulin felt drained, "So, when Ann said two masters, she didn’t mean they were from the same profession."
This misunderstanding really scared him!
Qin Sui’an seemed unaware of the misunderstanding she had caused Zhu Xiulin, looking up at her father with a puzzled expression, asking softly, "Daddy, did Ann say something wrong?"
But Little Ann hadn’t said anything wrong; she indeed had two masters. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Qin Haochen smiled gently and explained softly to Little Ann, "Ann, Zhu Xiulin wants to take you as his disciple and be your art teacher, to teach you how to paint."
Qin Sui’an suddenly realized.
She had visited Uncle Zhu Xiulin’s art exhibition and loved his paintings. Naturally, she was happy that he could teach her painting.
After realizing this, Qin Sui’an immediately nodded happily, her round eyes shining as she looked at Zhu Xiulin, "Okay! Uncle can be Ann’s art teacher!"
Finally, Zhu Xiulin felt his heart settle. Overwhelmed with excitement, tears welled up in his eyes, "Good! From now on, I, Zhu Xiulin, am your master, Ann!"
