Chapter 326: Little One’s Sensitivity to Smells

Hearing the name "Ye Xiaoyuan," Qin Yanyi found it somewhat familiar and asked, "Who?"

"Ye Xiaoyuan," Qin Niexun clarified, noticing his second brother’s confusion. "He’s the eldest son of the Ye family, Ye Xiaoyuan."

After a brief pause, Qin Niexun added, "We also have to address him as ’Uncle.’"

Though Ye Xiaoyuan was only a few years older, in the country, titles and forms of address followed generational hierarchy. For example, Bai Zhou, the young master of the Bai Group, was four and a half years old but still had to call the three-and-a-half-year-old Ann "Auntie."

"’Uncle’?" Qin Yanyi recalled the person and looked at his younger brother in surprise. "How did you end up meeting him?"

If he remembered correctly, Ye Xiaoyuan had been missing for several years. Not only did they not have contact with him, but even the Ye family couldn’t reach him.

Due to the confidential nature of work-related issues, Qin Niexun didn’t explain further, merely saying, "It was a coincidence."

"That’s quite a coincidence," Qin Yanyi didn’t believe the excuse completely but understood the nature of his brother’s work and chose not to press further.

After tidying up the first aid kit, Qin Yanyi stood up, "You clearly haven’t slept all night. Go rest. If you feel unwell, let me know at any time."

"Alright, thank you, Second Brother."

Qin Niexun left his second brother’s room and returned to his own. Qin Yanyi took the trash bag, left the room, and went downstairs. He handed the trash to a bodyguard at the castle entrance and instructed them to disinfect his room.

Just as he finished these tasks, he heard footsteps and a soft, doughy voice coming from the stairs.

"Daddy, do you smell something?"

Qin Sui’an had woken up early today, before her father went downstairs for breakfast. Her little nose was sniffing intently, trying to locate the unfamiliar scent.

"What smell?" Qin Haochen, holding his little one, sniffed the air carefully. "Daddy doesn’t smell anything."

"Hmm... It smells like blood," Qin Sui’an remembered that when her older brother’s fist had been injured before, it had a similar smell.

Her small brows knitted together in concern, "Daddy, did my older brother get hurt again?"

If Qin Qianyi knew that his sister’s first concern with the smell of blood was him, he would probably be pleased by her care.

Qin Haochen, unsure about the "again" in little one’s words, patted her back soothingly, "At this time, he should be at school."

Qin Sui’an’s brows remained furrowed, "Daddy, who got hurt then?"

Qin Haochen was about to ask the bodyguards but then saw Qin Yanyi coming in from the castle entrance.

Qin Yanyi approached them, "Ann, Dad, good morning."

"Good morning, Second Brother~" Qin Sui’an greeted him with a cheerful, sweet voice.

Qin Yanyi couldn’t help but smile at her.

After inspecting Qin Yanyi and seeing no signs of injury, Qin Haochen said, "Ann mentioned she smelled blood."

A trace of surprise flickered in Qin Yanyi’s eyes. After hesitating for a few seconds, he did not hide the truth, "Dad, Niexun was injured."

Qin Sui’an immediately asked anxiously, "Fourth Brother got hurt?"

"Yes," Qin Yanyi considered his words, "He had a fall and hurt his arm. I’ve already treated his wound. He’s now resting in his room."
