Old Mrs. Qin didn’t doubt the truthfulness of her granddaughter’s words. After adjusting the little girl’s fluffy skirt, she took her soft little hand.
Walking towards the bedroom door with her, Old Mrs. Qin smiled and said, "Let’s go out and see if your Sixth Brother has arrived."
"Okay~" Qin Sui’an curved her round eyes and, with her short legs, followed her grandmother out of the bedroom.
As expected, they saw Qin Qianyi sitting on the sofa in the living room as soon as they exited the bedroom.
Qin Qianyi immediately put away his thoughts and got up to greet them, "Ann! Good afternoon~"
It was very strange; whenever he was around Ann, he couldn’t help but speak in a high-pitched tone.
"Good afternoon, Sixth Brother~" Qin Sui’an happily smiled and then, with big blinking eyes, curiously asked, "Sixth Brother, what does ’high-pitched tone’ mean?"
It was the first time Qin Sui’an had heard this term.
Qin Qianyi’s smile froze on his face, almost breaking. "Uh, it’s, it’s when the way you speak sounds... nicer, um, that’s what it means."
When his fourth brother told him Ann had mind-reading abilities, he hadn’t thought much of it, but now, hearing his own thoughts directly from Ann made Qin Qianyi feel a bit uneasy.
He was worried about his own wandering thoughts; if they negatively influenced Ann, he would be doomed!
Just as he was thinking this, he suddenly met Ann’s clear, innocent eyes and was stunned.
Uh...
It seemed he had been a bit too "unfiltered."
Qin Sui’an tilted her little head, her big eyes fixed on her Sixth Brother, and in her soft voice asked, "Sixth Brother, what does ’doomed’ mean?"
"Ann, shh!" Qin Qianyi was startled and quickly covered his sister’s mouth with his hand. "Let’s talk about this later in private, Grandma is here."
If Grandma found out, he would definitely get scolded!
Qin Sui’an blinked her round eyes and looked at her grandmother.
Oh~
Sixth Brother is scared of being scolded by Grandma~
But, why is he afraid of being scolded by Grandma? Grandma has never scolded anyone before~
Old Mrs. Qin saw her grandson Qin Qianyi’s guilty expression and guessed that he had said something he shouldn’t have in his mind.
But since she couldn’t hear it, Old Mrs. Qin could only warn him, "You know Ann can hear everyone’s thoughts now? Be careful."
"I’ll be careful, Grandma!" Qin Qianyi nodded vigorously, obediently replying.
After finally flipping the page, he picked up Ann and walked towards the sofa. "Ann, I’ve prepared milk and some snacks for you. Are you hungry?"
"Not very hungry~" Qin Sui’an looked at the milk bottle and snacks on the table and added softly, "But Ann wants to eat~"
"Hahaha... Then let’s eat!" Qin Qianyi, not willing to put down his sweet, soft little sister, sat on the sofa with her in his arms.
He first handed her the milk bottle to drink, then picked up one of the snacks and fed her with a spoon.
While doing this, Qin Qianyi didn’t forget to ask his grandmother, "Grandma, are you hungry?"
"I’m not hungry, you eat." Old Mrs. Qin smiled, "I’ll go find your grandfather. Qianyi, take good care of Ann."
Qin Qianyi cheerfully replied, "No problem, Grandma, you can rest easy."
Seeing his carefree attitude, Old Mrs. Qin found it hard to fully trust him and hesitated a bit.
Qin Sui’an released the milk bottle, turned to her grandmother, and waved a small hand, saying in a serious tone, "Grandma, don’t worry! Ann can take care of herself!"
Old Mrs. Qin couldn’t help but laugh lightly. "Alright, then. I’ll go find your grandfather."
After she left, Qin Qianyi quietly complained, "Sigh, I’m so sad. Grandma trusts Ann but doesn’t trust me."
Qin Qianyi asked himself; he was just a bit playful, having fun, and never caused trouble when it came to serious matters. For example, the last time, it was his idea to use a bicycle for the big white goose painting!
Qin Sui’an even stopped drinking her favorite milk and quickly comforted her Sixth Brother, "Sixth Brother, don’t be sad. You’re very capable!"
Her cute little brows furrowed, and her face was full of concern for him.
Seeing this, Qin Qianyi felt a warm and comforting sensation, hugging her tightly, "Wuwuwu, Ann is so good to me!"
"Be good, Sixth Brother." Qin Sui’an used one small hand to gently pat her Sixth Brother’s head. "Ann will give you milk, Sixth Brother."
Hearing this, Qin Qianyi was even more touched. His rationality made him decline his sister’s kind offer, "No, Ann, you drink it yourself."
This milk was for Ann! Even if he was sad, he couldn’t take Ann’s milk.
Qin Qianyi quickly recovered from his earlier low mood. He wasn’t truly very sad, as he knew he didn’t seem as reliable as his brothers.
After feeding Ann, Qin Qianyi finished the remaining snacks without wasting any food.
He called the bodyguard to clean up the empty plate and milk bottle, then carried Ann out of the room.
Qin Qianyi was still very curious about his sister’s mind-reading ability. He asked, "How did Ann find out she had mind-reading powers? It’s so impressive—"
He quickly corrected himself, "No, no, such a powerful skill, why don’t I have it?"
"Big uncle and second brother discovered it first." Qin Sui’an answered honestly, "Ann thought her ears were sick. Big uncle and second brother didn’t speak, but Ann heard them talking."
"Big uncle?"
Qin Qianyi processed this in his mind before realizing who it was.
It was odd that Ye Xiaoyuan was there too.
Qin Qianyi was puzzled, "Did Ann see big uncle?"
"Mm-hmm, in the morning." Qin Sui’an answered with her soft voice, "Second brother took Ann to see big brother. On the way, they ran into big uncle, and then they all went to find big brother."
Qin Qianyi understood, "Oh~ So you all went to big brother’s temple."
"Yes~ We all went~ Second brother even took Ann around the temple~" Qin Sui’an continued, "When we were visiting the temple, Ann’s ears were also strange, constantly hearing many people talking."
"Ah?! Huh?!" Qin Qianyi gasped repeatedly, eyes wide in shock. "Who was talking? What were they saying?"
This shouldn’t be!
In theory, there shouldn’t be any ghosts or dirty things in the temple!
Qin Sui’an seriously recalled, "Ann thinks..."
While Ann was thinking about what those "people" were saying, Qin Qianyi quickened his pace and soon saw his fourth brother’s figure. He immediately called out, "Fourth brother! Fourth brother! There’s a big problem!"
He was a bit scared and wanted to pull his fourth brother in to listen to Ann’s account.
