Ye Rongyuan thought he hadn’t talked much, but after chatting with his sister, he found himself parched, realizing he had been talking for over an hour.
"Oh no! I still need to pick up Ann tomorrow!" he exclaimed, hurriedly getting up. "I won’t disturb your sleep anymore, sister. Good night!"
Eager to rest up for tomorrow, he rushed out of the room, completely unaware that the woman lying quietly on the hospital bed had slightly moved her hand beneath the blanket.
With Ye Rongyuan’s chatter gone, the room was left with only the beeping of medical equipment, as if nothing had happened. The painting on the wall opposite the bed seemed to have brightened in color.
At six in the morning, the sun slowly began to rise.
At the Ye Corporation estate, a professional gardener turned on the rotating sprinkler system to help the flowers and plants absorb sunlight at the best moment.
Suddenly, the peaceful morning was shattered by the loud roar of an engine.
The gardener jumped in surprise and turned to see a silver Maserati racing out of the garage, as if it were rushing to an important event.
This boisterous energy and the slightly reckless sports car could only belong to Young Lord Rongyuan.
In this household, only he would be so audacious.
In the past, the old lady would have commented on such a commotion, but now, only Young Lord Rongyuan remained to inhabit the estate.
The old lady and Mr. Ye spent most of their time in the hospital with Miss Zhaosi, while Young Lord Xiaoyuan and Young Lord Liyuan were preoccupied with business, rarely returning to the Ye estate.
This thought left the gardener momentarily stunned.
The large Ye Corporation estate was now occupied more by the servants than by the Ye family.
At that moment, the silver Maserati sped out of the estate, heading straight for Bay Villa.
Ye Rongyuan had woken up early today, even before his alarm, naturally getting up around five.
Though he had less than six hours of sleep, he felt fantastic, brimming with excitement.
Since the roads were clear except for traffic lights, he reached Bay Villa before 6:30.
Parking in the same spot as yesterday, he got out of the car.
The Qin family’s bodyguards had already received the president’s instructions the night before. Seeing Young Lord Rongyuan’s car, they promptly opened the gates.
"Good morning, Young Lord Rongyuan," the bodyguard greeted respectfully.
"Good morning!" Ye Rongyuan replied cheerfully, waving at the bodyguard. "Is Ann awake yet?"
The bodyguard answered, "Miss Ann is still resting."
As he walked toward Bay Villa, Ye Rongyuan nodded to himself, "That’s right; it’s still early. Ann can sleep a little longer."
Upon reaching the castle, Ye Rongyuan was greeted not just by the bodyguard but also by a large white goose.
The goose, aware that little Ann was supposed to go to Ye Corporation today, had come early to the castle, eager not to miss out.
Hearing footsteps, the goose snapped out of its reverie, opening its tiny eyes to see the human approaching—little Ann’s uncle.
Showing respect to little Ann’s family, the goose greeted him first: "Honk honk!"
With his long legs, Ye Rongyuan was about to stride into the castle when he suddenly heard the honk, halting his steps.
Curious, he looked down and spotted the fluffy white goose sitting at the castle entrance.
Since this goose belonged to Ann, Ye Rongyuan smiled good-naturedly. "Good morning, big goose."
The goose nodded its head and then honked again: "Honk honk!"
I want to go to Ye Corporation with little Ann! Don’t leave me behind!
Ye Rongyuan couldn’t quite understand its honking, seeming to talk about something.
He turned to the bodyguard, seeking clarification.
The bodyguard, expressionless, replied calmly, "Young Lord Rongyuan, I don’t understand either."
Giving up, Ye Rongyuan told the goose, "I’ll wait for Ann to wake up. See you later, big goose."
The goose honked back: "Honk! Go ahead! I’ll wait here!"
Still not comprehending what it meant, Ye Rongyuan looked at the goose one last time before entering the castle.
Today, Qin Fujia had made an exception for the goose, allowing it to meditate at the entrance instead of requiring it to recite scripture.
As Ye Rongyuan entered, Qin Fujia had just finished his vegetarian breakfast and was heading upstairs.
Spotting Ye Rongyuan, he greeted him, "Morning."
After a moment, he politely added, "Little uncle."
"Morning, big nephew." Ye Rongyuan’s gaze was fixed on his striking bald head, silently noting how handsome his nephew was, and how ordinary appearances could never compete with such a look.
Coupled with his nephew’s calm demeanor, it made him stand out.
Receiving Ye Rongyuan’s attention, Qin Fujia walked upstairs without missing a beat, clearly used to such looks.
Qin Fujia was always an early riser, while Qin Qianyi was up because he had school.
When Qin Qianyi trudged down the stairs, he noticed someone sitting in the living room and walked over.
Seeing it was Ye Rongyuan only worsened his mood.
Why do we have to go to school?
If it weren’t for school, he could join Ann at Ye Corporation.
Compared to the sulking Qin Qianyi, Ye Rongyuan was in high spirits. Spotting him in the doorway, he raised a hand and called out, "Good morning, little nephew!"
Qin Qianyi pressed his lips into a thin line. After a moment, he forced out, "Morning."
After barely uttering that, he turned and headed toward the dining room.
Ye Rongyuan was in a good mood and didn’t mind the lack of respect. Sitting on the sofa, he flipped through the newspaper, shaking his head. "That kid has quite the morning grump."
Meanwhile, on the second floor.
Perhaps anticipating going to work with his little uncle today, little Qin Sui’an woke up before 7:30.
Qin Haochen had just finished washing up and was getting dressed when he heard movement from the bedroom. Buttoning his shirt, he stepped out of the dressing room.
He saw little Qin Sui’an, who had been under the covers, now climbing out of bed with a huff. Qin Haochen smiled, walking over quickly. "Ann woke up this early?"
