"Okay." Qin Haochen nodded gently, watching them get into the car. "Mom, Dad, drive safely."
Old Mrs. Ye rolled down the window on her side for her granddaughter.
Qin Sui’an raised her little hand, waving goodbye to her dad. "Bye-bye, Daddy~"
"Bye, Ann." Qin Haochen smiled and waved back at the little one.
The black Maserati slowly pulled away from the Qin family’s Bay Villa, heading towards Ye Corporation.
Ye Rongyuan had completely set aside his president demeanor, his mind filled with the joy of spending the entire day with Ann, grinning broadly.
Hearing her uncle’s laughter, Qin Sui’an sighed lightly like a little adult, then rubbed her small ears.
She understood that her uncle was just too happy to control himself.
Old Mrs. Ye, seated next to her granddaughter, noticed Ann’s little gestures and leaned down to ask softly, "Is your ear uncomfortable, Ann?"
"My ear is fine..." Qin Sui’an shook her head, speaking softly. "It’s just that Uncle is laughing too loudly."
Old Mrs. Ye frowned slightly and glanced back at her youngest son in the rear seat.
He was smiling but not laughing out loud.
Ye Rongyuan wore a cheerful expression when suddenly he felt his mother’s not-so-friendly gaze on him. His smile froze, and he quickly sat up straight. "Mom, what’s wrong?"
He thought he hadn’t done anything wrong.
Old Mrs. Ye’s confused gaze shifted between her granddaughter and her son before settling on Ye Rongyuan. "Ann said you were laughing too loudly."
Upon hearing this, Ye Rongyuan immediately smacked his forehead in frustration, then leaned closer to Ann. "Sorry, Ann! I forgot again. I’ll be more careful."
"It’s okay~" Qin Sui’an shook her head again. "As long as Uncle is happy~"
Ye Rongyuan couldn’t help but chuckle, ruffling her hair. "Oh, our Ann is such an angel!"
He controlled his emotions, trying not to be overly proud.
Just as he sat back down, Ye Rongyuan suddenly felt a questioning gaze directed at him.
Cautiously, he turned to meet his mother’s somewhat serious expression, and his heart sank. "Mom..."
Considering Ann was right there, Old Mrs. Ye maintained a calm demeanor, keeping her tone gentle but her gaze on her son was full of displeasure. "Rongyuan, is there anything you haven’t told us?"
Ye Rongyuan suddenly realized what she meant and quickly adopted a sincere attitude. "Mom, it was late last night, and I forgot to mention it to you."
Old Mr. Ye, noticing his wife’s extreme displeasure, urged him, "Stop beating around the bush, just say what it is."
Ye Rongyuan hurriedly replied, "Ann has a Mind-Reading Skill; she can hear what we’re thinking."
"Mind reading?" Old Mr. Ye looked bewildered, clearly having never heard of such a term.
Old Mrs. Ye was initially surprised, then seemed to relax. "So that’s it." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
She had thought something else was going on; it turned out Ann had awakened this skill.
Seeing his mother’s calm demeanor, Ye Rongyuan asked in confusion, "Mom, why do I feel like you’re not surprised at all?"
"I am surprised." Old Mrs. Ye didn’t say much to her son. Instead, she turned to her granddaughter, bending down slightly and gently asking, "Does hearing too many people’s thoughts make you uncomfortable, Ann?"
Qin Sui’an nodded lightly. "Grandma, too many people make me dizzy; it feels bad."
Old Mrs. Ye lovingly kissed her granddaughter’s head. "This Mind-Reading Skill may not be such a good thing after all."
She blamed herself for not thinking of this earlier; Ann’s Mind-Reading Skill had awakened much earlier than expected, leaving her with no time to teach Ann how to control it properly.
