Chapter 83: The big white goose Knows Where to Hide

Shao Xinxin looked at her late-arriving parents with a hint of resentment in her heart.

If only they had arrived one minute earlier, if only they had beaten Qin Sui’an’s father, her plan would have gone perfectly!

Why, oh why did they have to come so late?

Shao Xinxin closed her eyes and clenched her hands tightly into fists by her side.

All her plans had failed, and Qin Sui’an was perfectly fine.

She had worked tirelessly for nothing, gaining no benefits whatsoever.

Damn it, damn it, damn it!

Suppressing the surging emotions within her, Shao Xinxin put on a look of surviving a disaster and burst into tears, wailing, "Mommy, Daddy!"

"Don’t cry, don’t cry, we’re here! No one can bully you!"

Shen Shuwen patted her back, comforting her, "Xinxin, what happened just now? Tell Mommy, I’ll stand up for you!"

"Mommy..."

Shao Xinxin, with teary eyes, sobbed, "I just..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Shao Xinxin felt a chilling gaze directed at her.

She turned her head and met the eyes of Qin Sui’an’s father.

His gaze was deep and filled with chilling darkness as if he had already seen through all her schemes.

A cold shiver ran up her spine, and she couldn’t help but tremble in fear of Qin Haochen.

"Xinxin?" Shao Yongkang followed her gaze and saw Qin Haochen outside the room.

Could it be that President Qin had bullied their daughter, Xinxin?

As this thought crossed his mind, Shao Yongkang’s expression suddenly changed.

"President Qin, you..."

Qin Haochen let out a mocking laugh, his eyes devoid of any warmth, and coldly interrupted Shao Yongkang, "President Shao, it’s a bit dangerous to have a child’s room on the third floor, especially without proper protection on the balcony. Aren’t you worried that your daughter might consider jumping off?"

His words carried a hidden meaning.

Shao Xinxin lowered her head guiltily, unable to meet his gaze.

Shen Shuwen, already angered, responded with a furrowed brow, "President Qin, you’re being too overbearing! Xinxin likes living on the third floor, is that not allowed?"

She glanced at the balcony outside and continued, "President Qin, the railing on our balcony was designed by the best architect in the country, it’s absolutely safe! Moreover, Xinxin has a strong mentality and a beautiful life. She would never consider such drastic measures!"

Qin Haochen’s deep gaze fell upon Shao Xinxin, who dared not speak or even look at him.

A faint, cold smile played on his lips as he said, "I hope what you say is true, Mrs. Shao."

Qin Qianyi rushed up to the third floor and saw Ann and their father standing outside the room.

He hurriedly approached them, asking, "Is Ann okay?"

"Don’t worry, Sixth Brother, Ann is fine," Qin Sui’an obediently replied.

"Good."

Qin Qianyi breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at the Shao family inside the room, furrowing his brows.

Why was Shao Xinxin crying again? What happened to make her cry?

Shen Shuwen gently hugged her daughter Xinxin and asked, "Xinxin, tell Mommy, what happened just now?"

"Just now, I..."

Shao Xinxin heard Qin Haochen’s words and didn’t dare to mention the fact that she had almost fallen off the balcony.

The Qin family never cared about outsiders and always protected their own.

She had experienced their lessons in her previous life.

Shao Xinxin sniffled and wiped her tears, "I accidentally tripped."

"How did you trip? Where did you fall?"

Shen Shuwen, noticing her obvious fear of Qin Haochen, lowered her voice and asked, "Did they push you and make you fall?"

Qin Sui’an heard Shen Shuwen’s words and immediately furrowed his little brows, earnestly refuting, "Auntie, Daddy, and Ann didn’t push Sister Xinxin."

Shen Shuwen’s expression froze subtly.

She had spoken so quietly, how did that wild young lady hear it?

Shao Xinxin pursed her lips and shook her head, "Mommy, it wasn’t them who pushed me. I accidentally fell on my own."

"Really?"

Shen Shuwen was somewhat skeptical, her gaze about to sweep towards Qin Haochen, who was holding her in his arms, and Qin Qianyi, whose eyes were filled with an intimidating glare.

Shen Shuwen immediately averted her gaze, only able to console her daughter, saying, "Xinxin, be more careful when walking next time."

Shao Xinxin wiped the tears from her face and replied, "I will, Mommy."

Seeing that his daughter was fine, Shao Yongkang said, "All right, since everything is fine, let’s go downstairs."

Taking the opportunity, Shao Xinxin rubbed her eyes and mumbled, "Mommy, Daddy, I’m tired. Can I go to sleep now?"

Shen Shuwen felt extreme heartache and caressed her head, saying, "Go ahead and sleep, my dear. You were disturbed."

As she spoke the latter half of the sentence, Shen Shuwen’s gaze intentionally or unintentionally swept toward the Qin family standing outside the door.

Shao Yongkang was the first to leave the room and looked at Qin Haochen, saying, "President Qin, this matter has been going on for so long, it should come to an end. My daughter is also tired."

This sentence was undoubtedly a farewell.

Qin Haochen lifted his eyelids slightly, his voice steady and calm as he said, "My daughter’s little apple is still in your daughter’s room."

Shao Yongkang frowned.

Why is it the little apple again? Will this ever end?

Shen Shuwen pointed around excitedly, "President Qin, why don’t you take a look for yourself in Xinxin’s room? There’s no little apple there."

She then looked at Qin Sui’an, her eyes not concealing her disgust, and said, "She searched Xinxin’s room for so long and still didn’t find the little apple, didn’t she?"

"Ann found it!"

Qin Sui’an puffed up her cheeks and angrily said, "Xinxin took the little apple from the balcony!"

"I didn’t take it! I didn’t even see any little apple!"

Shao Xinxin immediately shook her head in denial.

She pouted with a grievance and asked with a teary voice, "Ann, why are you accusing me falsely?"

"Ann didn’t falsely accuse!"

Qin Sui’an looked at her daddy, also feeling wronged.

In a soft voice, she said with certainty, "Daddy, the little apple is right here! Ann saw it!"

"Daddy believes you, Ann."

Qin Haochen gently patted the back of the little one, then turned his head, coldly looking at Shao Yongkang. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

He lightly opened his thin lips and said, "President Shao, your daughter has been lying repeatedly and refuses to return the little apple to us. How do you think this matter should be handled?"

Shao Xinxin bit her lip, feeling slightly panicked.

But as soon as she thought about how she had already hidden the little apple where no one would find it, her emotions quickly calmed down.

She looked at her daddy and vigorously shook her head, "Daddy, I didn’t take it! I really didn’t take it! There’s no little apple from Ann in my room!"

Naturally, Shao Yongkang believed his daughter, "President Qin, based solely on your daughter’s one-sided words, we cannot conclude that the little apple is in my daughter’s room."

"That’s right."

Shen Shuwen let out a soft hum, "President Qin thinks my daughter is lying repeatedly, but I also think your daughter has been lying all along. This so-called little apple is simply not in Xinxin’s..."

A goose’s ga interrupted her words, "Ga ga!"
