Chapter 215 The reason is invalid

The pale moonlight was like a thin veil, weakly pouring into this dense forest full of dangers, and vaguely shining through the gaps between the dense branches and leaves, casting mottled shadows.

Lu Zhan wandered in the dense forest for an unknown period of time, but still couldn't find the way back to the camp.

In the dense forest, the outlines of the trees appeared particularly eerie and twisted in the moonlight. The tall trunks were like silent monsters, lurking beside him with an oppressive feeling that was hard to ignore. The roots crisscrossing on the ground seemed like natural traps that could trip him at any time.

Every sound of the wind was like a signal of danger, passing through the dense forest under the bleak moonlight, filling the already quiet atmosphere with an indescribable sense of terror, as if countless unknown dangers were spying on him in the darkness.

Lu Zhan no longer remembered how long he had been walking in the dense forest. His legs were so heavy that it was difficult for him to even lift them up. He was only relying on his willpower to keep himself from falling down.

Suddenly the wind in the dense forest stopped and the silence became terrifying.

An instinctive alertness suddenly exploded in Lu Zhan's heart, and his heartbeat suddenly accelerated.

He tried to open his eyes wide, trying to discern the danger hidden in the thick darkness. His ears were also highly tense, trying to catch any slight movement in the eerie silence. His body slowly tensed up, his muscles like a taut bowstring, ready to react at any time.

But to his surprise, the trees in front of him suddenly seemed to come alive, and strange-shaped branches rustled and quickly stretched out towards him.

Lu Zhan was shocked and quickly dodged.

Unexpectedly, before the man could stand still, a black bear that was taller than an adult man suddenly rushed out from the shadows next to him. A dagger that was shining with a cold light was stuck in the hideous scar on its right eye.

It opened its bloody mouth and roared as it pounced towards Lu Zhan. Lu Zhan, with empty hands, could only turn around and run away.

He ran with all his might in the dark forest. The strange branches and the ferocious black bear were right behind him, not giving him any chance to breathe.

Lu Zhan clearly felt that his remaining physical strength was rapidly draining away, and the dense forest before him was like a maze shrouded in darkness, with no hope of breaking out.

He could clearly hear his own violent heartbeat. The "boom, boom, boom" sound seemed to be guiding the direction of the branches and beasts chasing him, as if telling him that unless his heart stopped beating, he would never be able to escape the pursuit behind him.

The exhaustion of physical strength and the despair of seeing no way out almost made him breathless. He could feel the danger behind him getting closer and closer. The sweat sliding down his neck was like the cold footsteps of death, stepping on his heart step by step.

Just as Lu Zhan was about to collapse from exhaustion, a gentle voice suddenly came from the air, continuously calling his name:

"Land battle, land battle!"

The voice sounded strangely familiar, and he suddenly remembered that it was this voice that woke him up when he almost died in a bear's mouth.

Lu Zhan suddenly looked up in the direction where the sound came from. A faint light appeared in the inky night. It must be the fire in the camp!

The voice was like a shot of adrenaline, causing him to burst out with the last bit of strength in his body and stumble forward in the direction where the voice came from.

The sound in my ears was getting closer and louder, and the light in front of my eyes was getting brighter and brighter, dispelling the darkness around me bit by bit.

"Lu Zhan, Lu Zhan, wake up quickly..."

The concerned voice gradually became anxious, and Lu Zhan's eyelids began to twitch violently, as if two forces were pulling at each other.

Finally, he suddenly opened his eyes, his chest heaving violently. His gaze focused for a long time before he could see Shao Jingque's worried face.

Seeing Lu Zhan open his eyes, Shao Jingque smiled with relief:

"Great! You're finally awake! I was worried I wouldn't be able to wake you up, and I was about to call a doctor!"

Lu Zhan subconsciously looked around. There was no deep dense forest around him, nor were there moving branches or man-eating black bears. The bright light shining in the ward filled with the smell of disinfectant quickly dispelled the haze of the nightmare.

He suddenly felt a warmth coming from his hand, and subconsciously looked down, only to see that his hand was being tightly held in Shao Jingque's palm.

Lu Zhan frowned, immediately pulled his hand back, and said coldly:

"Didn't I tell you to go back? Why are you still here?"

Lu Zhan has recovered well in the past two days and is able to communicate and speak normally, but his attitude towards Shao Jingque has not improved at all, and has even become colder.

The first thing he said to Shao Jingque was that she should take her things and leave the ward.

Shao Jingque was unwilling, and the argument between them became louder and louder, attracting the attention of the nurse on rounds.

The nurse reminded Shao Jingque not to affect the patient's mood. Shao Jingque immediately shut up and walked away angrily with red eyes.

Although Lu Zhan felt inexplicably nervous when he saw tears welling up in her eyes and she looked extremely aggrieved, but when he thought of his own strange reactions when she was moving around in the ward, he felt that it would be better to keep a distance from this "fiancée" who appeared out of nowhere.

Unexpectedly, when he woke up from a nightmare at night, she appeared in the ward again.

Shao Jingque was stunned by the question, and her heart ached when he pulled his hand away without mercy.

Fortunately, she quickly reminded herself that Lu Zhan just lost his memory and did not mean to embarrass her.

After quickly adjusting his mood, Shao Jingque forced a smile from his face and replied gently:

"You told me to go back, but I also gave my reasons. The guesthouse is too far from the hospital. It's inconvenient for me to go back and forth every day. I'm also embarrassed to ask Dr. Fan to pick me up and drop me off every day. I don't want to cause any more trouble for him."
