Qu Jingyun was about to retort when she heard Liang Jinchun speak again:
"However, now is not the time to hold you accountable. Finding a way to make amends is the most urgent task."
"Secretary Wang said that Director Xing still doesn't know about our show being eliminated, so we should quickly come up with another program to compete in. Otherwise, if the leader gets angry and holds us accountable, none of us will be safe!"
Another contestant show?
Qu Jingyun rolled his eyes to the sky after hearing this. Liang Jinchun thought that producing a program was as easy as just talking?
If it were really that easy, wouldn't Deputy Captain Peng and his team have traveled all over the province and still not found a qualified person?
Just when I was feeling depressed, I heard Liang Jinchun say:
"Deputy Director Peng and the others are already on their way to the art troupe. Xiao Shao, please come with us to the door and wait. Deputy Director Peng has specifically requested to see you."
Why did Peng Liling want to meet Shao Jingque?
This story starts with a phone call to Ningshi Guesthouse this morning.
After being woken up by Liang Jinchun and Qu Jingyun early in the morning, Secretary Wang returned to his room with a big bag of steamed buns and fried dough sticks. He ate something to fill his stomach, and since it was still early, he wanted to take a nap.
But I had just fallen asleep for a while when I was woken up by a knock on the door.
Secretary Wang was very angry after being woken up twice in the morning. He thought that Liang Jinchun and the others had come back again and was ready to get angry with them, but the waiter outside the door said that there was a call looking for him.
Secretary Wang only found out after answering the phone that yesterday, after Deputy Director Peng reported to Director Xing, he called the business department and asked them to report the Ning City Art Troupe's program by telegram first.
The reason why Deputy Director Peng did this was because the competition among art troupes across the country was too fierce, and whoever submitted the same type of program first was likely to gain the upper hand.
As a result, as soon as the comrades from the business department arrived at the office today, they received a telegram from the Beijing TV Spring Festival Gala Preparatory Group, saying that this type of song and dance program has been fully booked, so this program will not be considered and even a sample tape does not need to be sent.
The comrades in the business department immediately panicked and quickly called the Ning City Guesthouse. They didn't dare to talk to the leader directly so early in the morning, so they asked the front desk clerk to ask Secretary Wang to answer the phone.
When Secretary Wang heard that the program was rejected, he woke up immediately.
After the farce at dinner last night, Deputy Director Peng had managed to hold back his anger largely because of the contribution of the Ning City Art Troupe's performance. Now, upon waking up to hear that the show had been eliminated, wouldn't he be furious?!
If it was something else, Secretary Wang would definitely wait patiently for the leader to stand up before reporting.
But when he encountered this unfortunate task, he didn't dare to waste a second and ran to the door of Deputy Commander Peng's room, and knocked on the door gently with gritted teeth.
Fortunately, Peng Liling had already gotten up and came to open the door for him with a friendly face. But after listening to his report, her face gloomy.
It was hard for her to get the business department to report the program immediately, but she still didn't expect it to be a step too late...
Seeing his leader frowning and lost in thought, Secretary Wang didn't know what to do next.
They were supposed to take a bus back to the provincial art troupe today, but now that they know their program has been rejected, do they still have to go to other city art troupes to select new programs?
He waited for a long time but Peng Liling didn't say anything, so he boldly asked:
"Leader, do you think we should report this matter to Xing Tuan first?"
Peng Liling was in a dilemma at the moment. She had visited several larger city art troupes in Jiangsu Province. If the Ning City Art Troupe's program was not selected, then there would be no chance for other art troupes!
"Don't worry. Have Xiao Li come to my room and take out the performances from the art troupes we've been to lately that we thought were good and screen them to see if there are any that are more innovative and can be polished up."
At this point, we can only pick the tallest one among the short ones and try our best to save the situation!
Secretary Wang immediately called Secretary Li from the next room over. They took a thick stack of evaluation forms and carefully looked through them. After looking through them, they couldn't find a single memorable program. Their faces were wrinkled more bitter than bitter gourds.
Suddenly, Secretary Wang slapped his thigh and stood up with joy, holding an evaluation form in his hand and said excitedly:
"Leader, I remembered that the Ning City Art Troupe has another very good program!"
A hint of doubt flashed across Peng Liling's eyes. Apart from "The Girl from Tashkurgan", the Ning City Art Troupe didn't have any other program that she thought was eye-catching. Could it be that it was performed after she left?
Secretary Wang excitedly handed over the evaluation form in his hand and began to introduce:
"Look, this is the show. It's also a female solo, but she's accompanied by guitar and harmonica, playing and singing all by herself. It's a very innovative format!"
Peng Liling took the evaluation form and read it carefully.
Evaluation results: excellent.
Secretary Wang is an old comrade in the troupe. He has watched hundreds of programs and has always had high requirements for program quality. That is why Peng Liling was confident in handing over the evaluation work to him alone.
For a program to receive an “excellent” rating from him, the quality must be good at the very least.
Look at the name of the song again: "You, My Deskmate".
This unfamiliar song title surprised her a little. She didn't expect it to be a song she had never heard before.
As a senior literary and artistic worker, she is familiar with people in the circle. There are only a few famous composers in China now. How come she hasn't heard of anyone who wrote such a new song?
Peng Liling couldn't help but feel curious and asked:
"Why haven't I heard this song before? Is it a new song composed by Teacher Liu Zilin?"
