Qu Jingyun rushed out of the art troupe in a hurry and raised his hand to stop a tricycle on the side of the road.
The driver asked her where she was going. She had originally planned to go straight to Qiming Industrial to find Qi Mingyuan for help, but after getting on the car, she suddenly changed her mind:
"Go to Ning City No. 1 Middle School."
Since she wasn't the one who hired a ghostwriter to cheat, it could only be Qi Guangyao himself. If she didn't ask him about the whole story first, and then blindly rushed to Qi Mingyuan and was asked nothing by him, it would probably only have the opposite effect.
The joint entrance examination has ended, and the remaining time of the entire senior year only requires preparation for the graduation examination. For most people, their lifelong educational experience ends here.
In the classroom, the teacher was repeatedly marking the review points on the podium, and the students below were taking notes seriously. Only Qi Guangyao was lying on the table with his head covered and sleeping.
The news of cheating in the joint entrance examination was strictly blocked. Except for the vice principal and the principal of Ningshi No. 1 Middle School, none of the teachers knew about it.
Qi Guangyao had performed very well in the previous joint examinations. In addition to his family background, the teachers all assumed that his admission was a sure thing. As long as he did not affect the studies of other students, they did not bother him any more.
Qi Guangyao couldn't sleep at home these two days. Even when he stayed in his room, he felt scared all the time. He didn't dare to touch the bed or the wardrobe. Every day when he came home, he would hide in the corner of the wall, and the light in the room was on all night long.
On the contrary, when he arrived at school, sat in a sunny classroom, surrounded by dozens of classmates, the teacher's lectures in class and the laughter of classmates during breaks gave him a real sense of security, which allowed his tense emotions to relax a little. It was only during this time at school that he could sleep.
Qi Guangyao was sleeping soundly when suddenly a sharp female voice came from the classroom door and pierced his ears directly -
"Qi Guangyao! Come out here!"
Qi Guangyao, who was still asleep, was startled and stood up from his seat in fright, his sleepy face full of panic.
The teachers and classmates in the classroom were also startled by the sudden shout, but Qu Jingyun, who was so angry that he lost his mind, ignored everyone and rushed into the classroom, pulled Qi Guangyao away.
The teacher came to his senses and hurried out to ask what happened. However, Qu Jingyun just said "I'm his mother!" and dragged Qi Guangyao out of the campus, who was not yet fully awake.
It wasn't until he sat on the tricycle and felt the cold wind blowing on his face and neck that Qi Guangyao shivered. His chaotic mind finally came to its senses and he asked in a trembling voice:
"...Mom, why are you here? Where are we...going?"
Qu Jingyun held his breath and really didn't want to mention the embarrassing and stupid things he had done in other people's eyes, so he gritted his teeth and didn't say a word.
Qi Guangyao saw his mother's face was ashen, and the hand holding his wrist was so tight that the knuckles turned white. His heart immediately began to beat fast, and he begged for mercy in a low voice:
"Mom, be gentle...you're pinching me..."
Pinch pain?
She wished she could crush him to death!
Qu Jingyun turned a deaf ear to him, staring straight ahead with a stern face and saying nothing, as if he was afraid to look at Qi Guangyao any more. He even wanted to beat him to death on the spot!
Qi Guangyao held on to the handrail fearfully until the tricycle stopped at his front door. Only then did his anxious heart relax a little. He had been afraid that his mother would take him to the wilderness again, and he didn't know what terrible thing would happen next.
Qu Jingyun dragged him all the way up to the third floor, slammed the door shut, and then stared at Qi Guangyao with a sinister look on his face and spoke:
"Tell me! Who gave you the guts to hire someone to cheat on the joint entrance exam?!"
When Qi Guangyao heard this, the hairs on his body stood up. How did his mother suddenly know this?!
He subconsciously denied it:
"No...I, I didn't cheat..."
“Bang!”
A loud slap landed on Qi Guangyao's face, knocking him to the ground. He looked at Qu Jingyun in panic.
There was a burning pain in the palm of her hand, but Qu Jingyun felt that compared with the pain in her heart that was about to be torn apart, this pain was nothing.
"How do you think I knew you cheated? It's because you're stupid!"
"If you're capable of cheating, then don't get caught! How could I have given birth to such a fool as you? Since you hired someone to do it, why did you write your own name and student number on the test paper?!"
"Two exam papers with the same name, surname, and student ID were issued in the same exam room. Do you think everyone else is as stupid as you?!"
Qi Guangyao, who was about to try to defend himself, was stunned by Qu Jingyun's roar. His name and student number...
He racked his brains to recall, and a vague memory gradually emerged in his mind -
The night before the final joint exam, he accidentally killed Qiao Yulan and was so frightened that he couldn't sleep the whole night.
To avoid being exposed, he forced himself to go out and take the exam the next day. He spent the entire exam room half-heartedly waiting for the time to pass. Only after the invigilator reminded him that there were only ten minutes left did he finally write his name and student number on the test paper with a sigh of relief...
In the previous joint exams, he had always written the name and student ID number of the student who took the exam for him, but that day, he wrote... it seemed like it was his own?!
Cold sweat suddenly broke out on Qi Guangyao's forehead, his face turned pale, and his lips trembled so much that he couldn't utter a word for a long time.
Seeing his expression, Qu Jingyun was still unsure. For a moment, he was so angry that he raised his hand and slapped him a few more times, cursing as he hit him:
