Early in the morning on the fourth day of the New Year, Shao Jingque woke up feeling refreshed.
Originally, Liang Jinchun planned to let everyone relax and have fun in Jing City for a day after the Spring Festival Gala, so he kindly booked train tickets back to Ning City on the second day of the New Year.
Who would have thought that everyone was so eager to go home that no one wanted to stay in Beijing for another day.
So everyone checked out of the hotel and rushed directly to the train station to exchange their tickets for tickets departing that day.
I didn’t expect that train tickets for the first day of the new year were still in short supply and I couldn’t get one at all.
By this time, their room in the guesthouse had been checked out, and outside the train station was covered in snow and ice. The group could only huddle in the train station for a day and a night, and only got on the train back to Ning City at noon on the second day of the New Year.
The group was sleepy and tired, and they fell into a deep sleep as soon as they got on the train. They even skipped two meals and had lunch the next day as soon as they woke up.
A group of people returned home from Beijing in high spirits, but by the time they got off the train on the night of the third day of the Lunar New Year, they were all exhausted and more wilted than daylilies.
Fortunately, Yue Feiying and Qi Shengzhi had already been waiting at the entrance of the train station. As soon as they saw Shao Jingque coming out of the station, they immediately went up to her and took her luggage.
Wang Yuquan also came, riding a 28-inch bicycle, and took Wu Shuang with him. The couple rode away affectionately.
Everyone else was picked up by their families, but Liang Jinchun took a tricycle home alone.
Yue Feiying originally had a lot to say to Shao Jingque, but seeing how tired she looked, she had to hold back no matter how much she wanted to say.
Ding Ling cooked fermented glutinous rice dumplings for midnight snack at home. When Shao Jingque got home, she was hungry too. She ate a bowl of rice and went upstairs to wash up and go to bed.
I slept comfortably until eight o'clock the next morning.
She got up, washed, and prepared to go downstairs when she smelled the sweet fragrance of osmanthus coming from downstairs.
Yue Feiying rarely got up earlier than her. When she saw her appear at the stairs, she waved to her without even swallowing the food in her mouth:
"Hmm... Que'er, come and eat... the sweet-scented osmanthus steamed cake fresh from the oven! Ah... it's so hot!"
Qi Shengzhi quickly reached out and caught the steamed cake that Yue Feiying hurriedly spit out of her mouth, then carefully took a handkerchief to wipe the crumbs from the corners of her mouth.
Yue Feiying was completely unaware that someone was "serving" her. Her eyes were fixed on Shao Jingque. She took out a new steamed cake from the steamer and handed it to Shao Jingque as if offering a treasure. She smiled with a curved eyebrow and said:
"The new shop opened and we had steamed cakes. Business is booming!"
Shao Jingque took the steamed cake with a smile and teased her:
"Of course, Mr. Yue, you can even think of this. You act like a businessman now!"
After hearing her say this, Yue Feiying seemed to remember that there was Qi Shengzhi beside her, and she pouted at him:
"How would I know that? He just said it. But I think it has a good meaning, and the sweet-scented osmanthus steamed cake is delicious. Ding Ling said she could make it. For good luck, we started eating it on the first day of the new year!"
As she was speaking, Ding Ling brought out another bowl of soy milk.
Shao Jingque hurriedly invited her to sit down and eat together. Ding Ling smiled and said:
"Sister Jingque, take your time eating. I've already eaten."
Yue Feiying jokingly said:
"I see, Ding Ling takes the opening of this new store much more seriously than the two of us. She gets up before dawn to make soy milk and steamed cakes. This is how business should be done seriously!"
Ding Ling felt embarrassed by what she said, and her face turned red:
"Master, you're kidding me! Didn't Manager Wang tell us today is the last day for pre-opening preparations? Shouldn't we all go early?"
In fact, Yue Feiying was right. The three bosses might not be the ones who paid the most attention to the upgrade and reopening of Fanghua Photo Studio.
The first time Ding Ling met Shao Jingque, she was on the train from Shashi, where she had worked before, back to Shangqiu.
After graduating from junior high school, she farmed at home for two years. Life was difficult, so she followed her relatives from her hometown to work in Shashi.
But she could do nothing and could only do hard labor. When she arrived at the place, people disliked her because she was a woman, weak and lacked strength. Even though she did the same work, they only paid her half the salary of a male worker.
She worked hard for half a year, but after deducting the cost of food and accommodation, she only saved ten dollars even after living frugally.
Later, her father fell ill and she had no money, so she could only beg everyone for money. Fortunately, she was a kind person and others felt sorry for her, so they were able to borrow more than 100 yuan to save her father's life. From then on, Ding Ling truly realized the importance of making money.
So when she heard people in the hospital say that she could make a lot of money working in coastal cities, she bravely went to the train station alone to look for a job in the coastal areas, just to earn money as soon as possible to pay off her debts. She was also really afraid of the difficult situation of being short of money when she needed it urgently. Unexpectedly, she met a bad guy and was almost kidnapped.
Fortunately, she met Shao Jingque both times, and because of her, she got to know Wang Tao and her master. Ding Ling felt that her life seemed to get better all of a sudden.
Others who become apprentices have to pay tuition to their masters, but she does not have to pay tuition to learn makeup techniques in a photo studio and can even get paid.
Although the apprentice's salary is lower than that of a regular employee, it is still 20 yuan a month. The store provides food and accommodation. The money she saves in one month as an apprentice is more than what she saved in half a year of work before.
Her master also told her that after the photo studio was upgraded and renovated, she would be allowed to work officially. If her skills were up to par, she would be promoted to a regular worker and her salary would increase by ten yuan a month. This made Ding Ling very happy.
At this rate, she would be able to pay back all the money she borrowed in just half a year!
So when Yue Feiying taught her, she listened very carefully, and during breaks she always practiced diligently on her face.
The result is that in addition to the improvement of makeup skills, there is also an unexpected gain -
Her brother Wang Tao praised her for becoming more and more beautiful recently!
Learning the makeup technique made Ding Ling more confident. Not only did she become more beautiful after acquiring a skill, but her income also increased significantly. How could she not be interested in this job at the photo studio?
Not to mention Wang Yuquan, the pain he once suffered has kept him in a slump for so many years. If Yongsi Photo Studio had not given him a chance, he probably would not have been able to get out of the haze until now.
Making money is certainly very important to his family, but pulling a decadent man like him out of the ruins is like a rebirth for him personally.
Before Shao Jingque left, he promoted him to store manager, which was a great affirmation for him. He only thought about what else he could do for the photo studio to be worthy of this heavy trust.
He notified everyone to come to the store on the fourth day of the New Year to make final preparations for the opening on the fifth day. In fact, he went to the store on the third day and carefully checked and debugged all the scenery in the store. He was reluctant to leave the store until it was almost time to pick him up at the station in the evening.
Shao Jingque just felt that he was lucky to have met so many like-minded partners.
After she finished the last sip of the mellow soy milk, she felt warm from head to toe and even her heart. She put down the bowl and said with a smile:
"You guys go ahead, I'll go to the art troupe and hand in my resignation and then come back!"
