Chapter 120: New Issues in Education, a New Hope

The noise was getting closer and closer. Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing quickened their pace and walked towards the school.

When I walked to the school gate, I saw a group of people gathered there, talking about something.

"This school is about to close down. What will happen to the children?"

"Yeah, there's only one teacher, what can he teach?"

"Oh, my child is already of school age, what should I do..."

Shen Qiqi pushed through the crowd and saw the principal standing in the middle of the crowd with a worried look on his face.

Seeing Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing coming, the principal walked quickly to them as if he had seen a savior.

"Qiqi, please think of a solution quickly. The school...the school is about to close down!" The principal said in a hurried tone with a hint of tears in his voice.

Shen Qiqi's heart sank, and she quickly asked, "Principal, what happened?"

"Well, it's all about the teacher." The principal sighed. "Our school only has one teacher, and now something happened to her family, so she has to go back home. All of a sudden, the school is without a teacher. What are we going to do with the children?"

Shen Qiqi's brows furrowed tightly.

The medical problem has just been solved, and the education problem has emerged again. This is really like suppressing one problem but another one pops up!

She looked around. The dilapidated classrooms, the simple desks and chairs, and the faded posters on the wall all spoke of the school's plight.

"Qiqi, we have to think of a way." Lu Qing held Shen Qiqi's hand, giving her silent support.

Shen Qiqi nodded, "Principal, please take me to see the school first."

The principal walked into the classroom with Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing.

The classroom was empty, with only a few worn-out desks and chairs covered in dust.

The blackboard on the wall is already mottled, and you can vaguely see the remaining words on it.

"Ah..." The principal sighed helplessly, "You've seen the conditions of the school. It's already very simple, and now there's not even a teacher. This..."

Shen Qiqi looked at everything in front of her, feeling mixed emotions.

She knew that educational resources in rural areas were already scarce, and now something like this had happened, which was undoubtedly a heavy blow to the children.

"Principal, don't worry, we will find a way to solve it." Shen Qiqi said in a firm tone, with a gleam in her eyes.

As we walked out of the school, the night became darker.

Shen Qiqi looked up at the starry sky, her mind full of thoughts.

Suddenly, she thought of something and turned to Lu Qing and said, "Lu Qing, I remember I knew some..."

Shen Qiqi clapped her hands suddenly, her eyes shining like stars in the night sky, "I figured it out! I know some friends who are very passionate about education..." She lowered her voice, leaned close to Lu Qing's ear mysteriously, and revealed her plan.

After hearing this, Lu Qing's eyes lit up and he couldn't help but give Shen Qiqi a thumbs up, "Qiqi, your brain is amazing!"

The next day, Shen Qiqi couldn't wait to contact her friends.

After the call was connected, Shen Qiqi explained the situation in the village directly and put forward a bold idea - to launch an online education pilot.

"Online education? In the countryside in the 1970s?" The friend on the other end of the phone was obviously a little surprised.

"That's right!" Shen Qiqi said firmly, "I know this sounds incredible, but I want to give it a try. We can start with simple courses, such as Chinese, mathematics, and English..."

Shen Qiqi elaborated on her plan in detail, including course settings, teaching methods, equipment requirements, and so on.

She was full of confidence, as if she had already seen children learning knowledge through the Internet.

"Qiqi, your idea is indeed very creative, but it also faces many challenges." My friend said with a hint of worry in his tone, "First, the network signal is a big problem. Second, the cost of the equipment is not low. And then there is the teaching staff..."

"I know. I've considered all these issues." Shen Qiqi answered confidently, "As for the network signal issue, we can first install a signal amplifier in the school. As for the equipment costs, we can apply for funding from some public welfare organizations. As for the teaching staff, we can recruit some volunteers..."

Shen Qiqi spoke incessantly, her enthusiasm and determination infecting the friend on the other end of the phone.

"Okay, Qiqi, I'm impressed by your enthusiasm," the friend finally relented. "I agree to start with the preparations to see what resources are needed and how to overcome these challenges."

After hanging up the phone, Shen Qiqi jumped up excitedly, "It's done! The first step was successful!"

Lu Qing looked at her cheering and a relieved smile appeared on his face.

He walked forward and gently hugged Shen Qiqi, "Qiqi, you are awesome!"

When the news spread, the village was in an uproar.

"What? Online education? What the hell is that?"

"You can go to school online? This is amazing!"

"Is this possible? My child has never even seen a computer..."

The villagers talked about it, curious and confused.

They never thought that they could have access to such advanced educational methods in their remote mountain village.

Uncle Li's eyes widened, he couldn't believe his ears, "Qiqi girl, is this online education you mentioned reliable?"

Shen Qiqi smiled mysteriously, "Uncle Li, just wait and see!"

She turned and walked towards the principal, "Principal, let's clean up the classroom first and prepare for the new challenge!"

The principal looked at Shen Qiqi's confident eyes, and the worry in his heart gradually dissipated, replaced by an inexplicable expectation.
