The joy of the harvest had not yet completely dissipated, but Shen Qiqi's heart felt like it was being pressed down by a huge rock.
The sentence "The woman from the Li family was beaten all over her body again" was like a needle, piercing her heart.
She took a deep breath, and the light in her eyes was as sharp as if quenched by fire.
She knew that beneath this peaceful village lay many unknown sufferings, and she could no longer sit idly by.
"Lu Qing," her voice trembled slightly, a mixture of anger and determination. "Some people deserve to be run over by the wheels of time." She turned around and looked at Lu Qing, her eyes like two sharp blades, piercing people's hearts.
Lu Qing understood the determination in her eyes, and the man's broad palm gently covered hers, giving her silent support.
The two men acted quickly.
The next day, a group of women gathered at the village activity center. Shen Qiqi stood in front, her eyes like torches, scanning every woman present.
She knew that this was a challenge as well as an opportunity. She wanted to plant the seeds of feminist consciousness in this barren land.
However, good things come to those who wait.
Just as the women were talking and slowly starting to open up, a sharp voice interrupted their discussion.
"I say, what are you women gathering here to whisper about? Are you bored?" A tall figure appeared at the door of the activity center. It was Wang Laoer, the male representative of the village.
He stood with his hands on his hips, like a proud rooster, his face full of disdain and arrogance.
"Wang Laoer, this is our own business as women. It has nothing to do with you!" A woman in the crowd mustered up the courage to retort, but her voice was obviously lacking in confidence.
Wang Laoer sneered and walked in with a swagger, sweeping the women present with contempt, as if they were a group of insignificant ants.
"What can women do? Aren't they just hanging around the stove? You guys with long hair and short knowledge, stop making trouble here, don't think you can turn the world upside down!"
Shen Qiqi looked at Wang Laoer's arrogant appearance, and anger rose in her heart.
She clenched her fists, her nails digging deep into her flesh.
The air was filled with the smell of gunpowder, and the tense atmosphere seemed to be frozen.
At this moment, she heard Lu Qing's voice in her ears: "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
Shen Qiqi took a deep breath, her eyes as cold as ice. The corners of her mouth rose slightly, a smile with a dangerous signal bloomed on her face, and she slowly said: "Wang Laoer, are you sure, do you really understand women?"
The smile on Shen Qiqi's lips was very much like the cold light reflected from the Grim Reaper's scythe at midnight.
She slowly stood up, her eyes as sharp as knives, staring straight at Wang Laoer's face full of contempt.
"Wang Laoer, do you think that women are born to be around the stove, doing laundry, cooking, and serving you men?" Her voice was not loud, but it carried an unquestionable sense of oppression, like an invisible sword, instantly piercing through Wang Laoer's thick layer of self-righteousness.
Wang Lao Er was frightened by Shen Qiqi's aura for a moment, but he quickly regained his arrogant expression, "Isn't it? Women should behave properly and not think about causing trouble all day long."
Shen Qiqi chuckled, as if she had heard a huge joke, "Duty? Who stipulated duty? You men can read and write, can show your face in public, but women can only stay at home to take care of their husbands and children? What era is this? The Qing Dynasty is gone!" She went all out and directly threw out the trump card of "The Qing Dynasty is gone", which instantly stunned everyone present.
"I tell you, equality between men and women is written in the Constitution!" Shen Qiqi continued to speak, throwing out all the ideas about equality between men and women in modern society that she knew.
She spoke incessantly, citing numerous examples, from women's right to education, to women's right to work, to women's right to political participation. She left Wang Laoer speechless, his face turning pale and blue, as if he had swallowed a fly.
Wang Laoer was completely defeated by the criticism, his face flushed red, but he couldn't find any words to refute.
He could only gasp in anger like a plucked rooster.
The women around were completely shocked by Shen Qiqi's words.
They never thought that women could live like this, and that their rights should be protected.
They looked at Shen Qiqi with eyes full of admiration and desire, and a flame of hope ignited in their hearts.
"Well said!" I don't know who was the first to applaud, and then the applause sounded like thunder, deafening.
At this moment, Lu Qing on the side silently handed Shen Qiqi a glass of warm water.
Shen Qiqi took the water cup and smiled gratefully at Lu Qing. Their eyes met, and a warm atmosphere spread between the two of them. It seemed that pink bubbles were floating in the air.
Mrs. Liu looked at their loving appearance and felt a little envious in her heart.
She also longs for such understanding and support. Such love is something people yearn for.
Shen Qiqi took a sip of water, cleared her throat, and looked at Wang Laoer again. Her eyes were full of provocation and disdain. "Wang Laoer, do you have anything else to say?"
Wang Laoer opened his mouth, but found that he could not say anything. He could only stamp his feet in anger and turned around to leave.
At this moment, Shen Qiqi suddenly spoke, her voice clear and firm: "Today, this is just the beginning." Her eyes swept over every woman present, and finally landed on Wang Laoer's back. A meaningful light flashed in her eyes, "Wang Laoer, you'd better remember what I said today."
