Shen Qiqi stood at the edge of the Cultural Square, the morning sun shining on her face, the golden light seemed to add infinite courage to her.
Her eyes were firm and expectant, her steps were brisk, and every step revealed her confidence in the future.
Quite a few villagers had already gathered in the square. They looked at her with curiosity and doubt, and the air was filled with a tense and expectant atmosphere.
"Qiqi, are you really going to do this?" Lu Qing followed her and asked in a low voice, his eyes full of support and concern.
Shen Qiqi turned and smiled at him, then nodded, "We must deepen cultural integration so that we can truly change everyone's concepts." Her words were full of determination, and the folder in her hand was tightly grasped, as if holding the hope for the future.
Shen Qiqi walked onto the small stage in the center of the square, cleared her throat, and prepared to give a speech.
As soon as she opened her mouth, her voice was interrupted by a shrill shout.
Uncle Zhang and Old Lady Lu squeezed out of the crowd, their faces full of dissatisfaction and anger.
"Chen Qiqi, you're messing around!" Uncle Zhang (PC04) yelled, "Cultural integration? You're destroying what our ancestors passed down!"
Mrs. Lu also agreed: "Yes, we can't accept foreign things, these are all bad!"
Shen Qiqi took a deep breath and tried to stay calm.
She looked at the two elderly people and said patiently, "Mr. Zhang, Mrs. Lu, I understand your feelings, but times are changing and we cannot stand still. These foreign cultures also have their highlights, such as new agricultural technologies and new educational methods, which can help us live a better life."
The surrounding villagers began to whisper, some nodded in agreement with Shen Qiqi, while others frowned, expressing their doubts.
The tension in the air grew thicker and thicker, as if it was about to explode.
"Qiqi, do you really think this is the right thing to do?" Uncle Zhang stared at her with a questioning look, his voice filled with unquestionable firmness.
Shen Qiqi smiled, her eyes firm: "I firmly believe that this is the right thing to do, and I will prove it to you with practical actions." Although her words were gentle, each word was sonorous and powerful, as if swearing her determination.
At this moment, Li, the foreign cultural communicator, walked out from the crowd and said with great self-esteem: "Chen Qiqi, since you are so confident, why don't we have a small competition to see whose culture can win the hearts of the villagers better."
Shen Qiqi raised her eyebrows slightly, a confident smile appeared on the corner of her mouth, and she responded with a firm look: "Okay, then let's have a fair competition!" When Uncle Zhang and Mrs. Lu heard what Shen Qiqi was going to do about "cultural integration", their faces instantly became longer than donkeys and exploded on the spot.
They shouted at the top of their lungs, their voices so loud that they could blow the roof off the house, clamoring to protect the "roots" left by their ancestors.
"No! Absolutely not! Our Lujia Village must remain the same. Why are you, a daughter-in-law from outside, meddling in this?" Old Mrs. Lu put her hands on her hips, looking like "what I say is the truth."
Uncle Zhang also stroked his beard, puffing his beard and glaring angrily, as if Shen Qiqi had dug up his family's ancestral grave. He also raised his arm and called on his friends, gathering a group of "old stubborn people" to form a human wall, vowing to defend the "tradition" to the death.
Shen Qiqi looked at this group of "old antiques" in front of her who were like clockwork, and felt her head buzzing, as if there were ten thousand ducks in a meeting.
"This group of people is simply unyielding!" she thought to herself. A deep sense of powerlessness surged in her heart. She felt like she was trapped in a huge swamp. The more she struggled, the deeper she sank.
The atmosphere around her instantly dropped to freezing point, the air froze, and she felt suffocated.
But who is Shen Qiqi?
She is a representative of women in the new era, how could she give up easily?
She took a deep breath, calmed herself down, and pulled out a thick stack of documents from the folder she carried with her.
These materials were collected during her travels around the country. They record how local culture, after integrating with other local cultures, bursts with new vitality in the collision and ultimately achieves prosperity and development.
She held up the information in her hand and said in a low but resounding voice, "Dear uncles and aunts, these are real examples of cultural integration in other places. Look, cultural integration is not a disaster; it can make our lives better!"
The "old stubborn people" who originally looked disdainful were stunned after taking a look at the information.
They stared with their eyes wide open, their reading glasses almost falling off, and they kept muttering, "This...this...how is it possible?" Their surprised expressions looked as if they had seen aliens.
The surrounding villagers also began to whisper to each other, and curious eyes flashed in the crowd, as if the door to a new world had been opened, and curiosity grew like weeds.
Li, the foreign cultural communicator, saw that the wind was blowing in the wrong direction and began to make some calculations in his mind. This girl is quite interesting.
Shen Qiqi looked at everyone's shocked expressions, a barely perceptible smile appearing at the corner of her mouth.
She knew that as long as she was willing to put in the effort, there was nothing that could not be broken.
But just when she thought she was about to take the initiative, outside the crowd, Lu Qing was looking at her with complicated eyes, his brows furrowed, his fists clenched tightly, and veins bulging.
Seeing Shen Qiqi speechless, Lu Qing felt heartbroken as if he had been pricked by a needle. He strode forward and held Shen Qiqi's hand tightly, as if he wanted to pass all his strength to her.
Shen Qiqi felt the warmth coming from her palm and looked up at Lu Qing with gratitude. Their eyes met, and without words, it was better than a thousand words.
