The eldest uncle and the second uncle walked into the house with heavy steps, followed by Lu Qing's cousin. Even Lu Qing's son stood at the door with a reluctant look on his face.
Shen Qiqi knew in her heart that tonight was destined to be a tough battle.
She asked everyone to sit down in the main hall, while Lu Qing silently poured a cup of hot water for everyone. The atmosphere in the room was so solemn that it seemed as if water could be squeezed out.
Old Mrs. Lu was half lying on the kang, coughing from time to time, which made the atmosphere even more desolate.
"Regarding grandma's retirement..." Shen Qiqi had just started talking when her uncle slammed the table. "Qiqi, I'm not saying anything bad about you, but your new plan is too outrageous!" His face flushed red, and his saliva almost sprayed on Shen Qiqi's face. "Why should my family pay the most? I have elderly parents and young children to take care of, and the pressure is huge!"
Second Uncle also echoed: "That's right, Qiqi, you know my family's situation. We barely have enough food to eat, so how can we have any money left for retirement? Your plan is simply going to kill me!"
Lu Qing's cousin said sarcastically, "Aunt, you're really good at calculating. Are we the ones being taken advantage of? Let me tell you, I'll take care of my parents' retirement myself!"
Even Lu Qing's son couldn't help but grumble: "Why do we have to pay for grandma's retirement..."
Shen Qiqi looked at the group of "monsters" in front of her without any ripples in her heart, and even felt like laughing.

"This account book records all of the Lu family's income and expenditure over the years. Every single item is clearly stated!" Shen Qiqi pointed at the account book, her tone strong and powerful. "Uncle, you said you have elderly parents and young children to support, and you're under a lot of pressure. So, may I ask, where do you spend your monthly income from working outside? Do you use it to marry your youngest son, or to help your daughter with her dowry?"
Uncle's face suddenly turned redder, like a cooked crab.
He hesitated and couldn't say anything for a long time.
Shen Qiqi didn't give him a chance to breathe and continued, "Second Uncle, you always say that you have no food to eat, but don't forget that your two acres of fertile land have a good harvest every year. How come you can't even afford to eat? It's all recorded in the account book!"
Second uncle's expression also turned ugly, his eyes flickered, and he didn't dare to look directly at Shen Qiqi.
Shen Qiqi looked around at everyone, and finally set her eyes on Lu Qing's cousin: "As for you..." She curled her lips into a sneer, "You said you would arrange for your parents' retirement, but what can you do? With your meager salary? Or do you expect your wife to go back to her parents' home and cry poor?"
Lu Qing's cousin was speechless after being confronted by Shen Qiqi, his face turning pale and blue, as colorful as a palette.
Even Lu Qing's son lowered his head and dared not say a word.

For a moment, the main room was completely silent, with only Mrs. Lu's cough occasionally breaking the silence.
Lu Qing looked at Shen Qiqi who was talking freely, his eyes full of admiration.
He reached out and held Shen Qiqi's hand, giving her silent support.
"I believe in Qiqi." Lu Qing's voice was not loud, but it was resounding. "I feel at ease with Qiqi in this family." Shen Qiqi held Lu Qing's hand back, and a warm current surged in her heart.
Uncle cleared his throat awkwardly, trying to break the suffocating silence.

Second uncle's eyes suddenly turned red, "Qiqi, it's not that second uncle doesn't want to pay, it's really..." He choked, tears welling up in his eyes.
The second uncle wiped his tears and cried with snot and tears, "My wife is weak and has to take medicine every other day. The harvest from the fields is barely enough to make a living. He cried with snot and tears, as if he had suffered a great injustice.
Everyone in the room was infected by the second uncle's crying, and the atmosphere became even more depressing.
The uncle also sighed, the cousin rolled his eyes impatiently, and Lu Qing's son even covered his ears.
Old Mrs. Lu coughed a few times on the kang, seeming to feel a little bit reluctant.
For a moment, the room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop, with only the intermittent crying of my second uncle echoing.

As soon as Shen Qiqi finished speaking, the room suddenly exploded.
Uncle and cousin both widened their eyes and looked at Shen Qiqi in disbelief, as if they were looking at an alien.
