"Oh my, there are so many books!" Shen Qiqi complained as she moved the books, but a happy smile was on her face.
She felt like a child opening a blind box, and every time she opened a box of books, she would get a surprise.
The scent of ink from books filled the air, making her feel extremely at ease.
"Are you tired? Do you want to take a break?" Lu Qing took the book from her hand with concern, his voice low and gentle, like a spring breeze blowing through willow branches.
Shen Qiqi winked at him playfully, sat down next to the pile of books, and patted the empty seat next to her. "Come on, Mr. Lu, let's plan the education blueprint for our village together!"
The two sat side by side, chatting about the future education of the village.
From the dilapidated school to the children's eyes eager for knowledge, they became more and more excited as they talked, as if they saw the children setting sail in the ocean of knowledge.
A warm atmosphere flows in the small room, as sweet as honey.
"Hey, do you think we should renovate the school first, or start with the children and set up a literacy class?" Shen Qiqi suddenly asked a question with a cunning gleam in her eyes.
Lu Qing touched his chin and thought for a moment, "I think we can first teach the villagers a lesson and let them know the importance of education."
The next day, when the villagers thought that Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing would start a large-scale construction project, starting with improving the school's hardware, they actually built a platform under the big locust tree at the entrance of the village, preparing to hold a villagers' education meeting.
This operation completely confused everyone.
"What's going on? A big show?"
"Who knows? It's definitely not a good thing!"
The villagers were talking about it, and curious eyes were moving among the crowd like curious cats.
Shen Qiqi stood on the stage and cleared her throat. "Fellow villagers, I invited you all here today because I want to talk to you about education..." She invited several villagers who had received education and had worked outside to come on stage and let them share their experiences.
"I used to farm at home and knew nothing. Later, when I went to the city to work, I found that I could not get ahead without education!" A simple and honest man scratched his head and said with a silly smile.
"Yes, it's because I went to school for a few years that I was able to find a good job and support my family." Another villager also said with emotion.
These simple words, like seeds, were quietly planted in the hearts of the villagers.
The doubtful gaze gradually turned serious, and the curious atmosphere began to turn into contemplation.
When night fell, Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing returned to the room. Lu Qing looked at Shen Qiqi and said slowly: "Qiqi, you say..."
After the villagers' meeting, some villagers took the initiative to find Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing and expressed their willingness to support the village's education.
"Qiqi, my kids are old enough to go to school!" A burly man smiled naively, holding a basket of vegetables he grew himself. "This is a little gift from me, to nourish the kids!"
"I have a few pencils at home too. They have not been used many times and are all new. Give them to the children!" An aunt also enthusiastically took out a cloth bag containing a few brand new pencils, which exuded a faint wood fragrance.
Some villagers also brought out their own old textbooks and papers, and some even offered to help repair the dilapidated school.
For a moment, Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing were surrounded by the enthusiasm of the villagers and were moved to tears.
"Qiqi, see, I told you we can do this!" Lu Qing looked at the scene in front of him and excitedly held Shen Qiqi's hand tightly. A warm current flowed from his palm to Shen Qiqi's heart.
"Of course! The quality of this generation of villagers is very high!" Shen Qiqi winked playfully, with a glint of joy in her eyes.
Cheerful laughter rang out in the village, and a relaxed atmosphere enveloped everyone like a veil.
The children were chasing and playing, their faces filled with bright smiles, as if they saw a bright future waving at them.
As night fell, Shen Qiqi and Lu Qing sat at home, sorting the stationery and books donated by the villagers.
Under the dim light, their figures were stretched out, like two trees standing side by side, supporting each other in the wind and rain.
"Qiqi, look..." Lu Qing suddenly pointed to a list on the table, his tone a little serious.
