After Gu Shuhe arrived in the county, he would see Shen Tingci every three days.
Every time Shen Tingci went to the supply and marketing cooperative, he would pick up a pack of cigarettes. The second time he went, he asked, "Where do you live here?"
Gu Shuhe said, "Live in the dormitory."
Shen Tingci asked, "Are you used to living here?"
Gu Shuhe nodded.
The third time I asked, “Are you used to it?”
Gu Shuhe nodded again.
She doesn't talk much.
Less time at home, even less time working outside.
Shen Tingci's thin lips moved slightly, as if he didn't know what to say, so he nodded at her and left.
Then that day, someone from the county party committee office went to the supply and marketing cooperative and bought two baskets of soda and some popsicles. He couldn't carry them all by himself, so he asked Gu Shuhe to help deliver them.
Since they bought a lot, Gu Shuhe went along too.
When we got there, Shen Tingci was there too.
The person who bought the things saw Shen Tingci and said, "Minister, the things are bought."
Shen Tingci raised his eyebrows slightly, "Give everyone a share."
Zhang Guang nodded, then gestured to Gu Shuhe, "You come!"
Gu Shuhe also nodded to Shen Tingci as a greeting. Shen Tingci always talked to her when he went shopping, so it was inappropriate to pretend not to know her now.
But just as Gu Shuhe nodded, Shen Tingci said to Zhang Guang, “Send the soda in first, and come out later to move this.”
He stretched out his hand to Gu Shuhe and said, "Here, give it to me."
A box of popsicles is still ice-cold even through the carton.
Gu Shuhe's fair arms were frozen red from carrying him all the way.
Shen Tingci took the box and saw it at a glance, then frowned, "Why are you delivering it?"
