Chapter 13 When the alarm clock rings, you and I are both cattle and horses

Sang Luan pulled her clothes closer and stepped forward.

She kept looking back, afraid that she would be seen by someone with ulterior motives.

"The outcome is uncertain. You and I are both dark horses." She cleared her throat, reached out and poked Meng Youning, and looked around cautiously, "Hurry up and compare."

"No, Luan'er." Meng Youning was speechless for a moment and pulled off her veil. "I'm already standing in front of you. Is there any need for a secret signal?"

Sang Luan raised his eyes and glanced at her, his expression paused, and the corners of his eyes slightly raised.

"The code is wrong." Sang Luan waved her hand and said, "Let's go."

Meng Youning's usually cold face slowly showed a hint of smile, just like an iceberg that suddenly melted, the coldness it exuded was mixed with a hint of warmth.

She sighed, grabbed Sang Luan's hand, and finally uttered the secret code, "When the alarm clock rings, you and I are both cattle and horses."

Sang Luan's eyes suddenly lit up, and she snapped her fingers. She raised her head and looked at Meng Youning with a smile, "You were a little slow this time. Go faster next time, and I won't deduct points from you this time."

"As you command." Meng Youning leaned against the wall, her eyelids slightly raised, and said helplessly, "My Miss Sang."

Ever since they met, they've had a sticker called "A Hundred Little Things About Best Friends."

After so many years, there are already more than a hundred items on it, and each little thing has a corresponding score.

If the other person does something that you find unforgivable, you can deduct points from the score, no matter how much.

According to Sang Luan, once the points on the stickers are reduced, it means that they are not suitable to be best friends.

But over such a long time, the score has been increasing and decreasing, and has never returned to zero.

Sang Luan rubbed her hands, turned sideways and gave Meng Youning a look, "Let's go and continue exchanging information."

Meng Youning hummed lightly and put the veil back on.

Immediately afterwards, the two found a place to listen to opera and entered a private room one after the other.

As soon as they entered the private room, their heads were pressed together.

"One good news, one bad news." Sang Luan poked Meng Youning's arm. "Which one do you want to hear first?"

"Good news."

"The good news is that we still have a chance to escape." Sang Luan became interested.

"What about the bad news?"

Sang Luan's head drooped. "The bad news is, before we can escape, we must first successfully obtain the divorce agreement from the current emperor."

"This is indeed a problem." Meng Youning fell into deep thought, her cold face and brows furrowed. "Qi Ran is Prince Yi's favorite son, and Prince Yi is the brother of His Majesty. Prince Yi and his wife are eager to have a grandson as soon as possible."

She paused, "Even if His Majesty agrees, Prince Yi and his wife will not agree."

"Who said it wasn't?" Sang Luan scratched her hair and fell backwards. "The original owner got the title of Prime Minister's wife by begging the Shangshu and his wife. If I ask for a divorce now, I'm afraid people will think I'm crazy."

"The most important thing is that we rarely have the opportunity to see the emperor now, except for banquets." Sang Luan casually pulled a grape and put it in his mouth.

She quickly spat it out, "Pooh...what is this, it's so sour."

Meng Youning naturally poured a glass of water and handed it to Sang Luan.

Sang Luan took several sips before she suppressed the sour taste in her mouth.

“Cough cough cough…”

Suddenly, Meng Youning bent down and coughed violently a few times. In an instant, her originally beautiful cheeks were suddenly stained with a blush.

He looked very uncomfortable.

"Are you okay?" Sang Luan hurried forward to pat her back, then reached out and touched Meng Youning's forehead, which was a little hot. "Your body is in such a state of pain, you have to endure the pain all day long."

After a few moments, Meng Youning finally recovered.

She let out a breath and gave Sang Luan a reassuring look.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." Meng Youning's lips curled up slowly. "The reason I looked so grim in the Prince's Mansion was because I was acting on purpose for them to see."

Sang Luan decisively withdrew her hand, "I feel relieved with your words."

After saying that, Meng Youning reached into her sleeve and took something out. She placed it in front of Sang Luan and tilted her head towards her. "Look, what is this?"

Sang Luan opened it with half-belief and half-doubt. At a glance, a hint of disbelief quickly flashed across her pupils, and then a hint of surprise burst out in her eyes.

"Ningning, you're amazing." Sang Luan rushed over and hugged her tightly. "Where did you get all these?"

There was a thin layer of cloth on the table, and on the cloth lay seven or eight golden leaves shining brightly.

Sang Luan picked up a piece and held it in her hand. She closed her eyes and sniffed it hard. "Hmm, it smells like money."

Every golden leaf in front of her eyes emitted a sparkling golden light under the sunlight, which made Sang Luan very happy.

This is not a golden leaf at all, it is clearly the happy rest of her and Ningning's life.

"These are all the money I've saved up during this period." Seeing her money-obsessed look, Meng Youning couldn't help but raise the corners of her mouth. "The more seriously ill I get, the more gold leaves I can save."

Sang Luan understood instantly that the more serious the illness, the more medicinal herbs would be used. According to the luxury of the prince's mansion, most of those medicinal herbs were precious.

"You take the medicine..." Sang Luan suddenly widened her eyes and pointed at her.

Meng Youning held her hand and said, "I just asked someone to pick up more medicine, and I also asked someone to tamper with the medicine a little bit when they were boiling it."

"I thought I was fast enough." Sang Luan suddenly realized, "I didn't expect you to be faster than me."

Meng Youning raised her eyes to look at her, "You too?"

Sang Luan smiled meaningfully, "I don't have any herbs for me to tinker with. But, the hermit has his own clever ideas."

"What is it?" Meng Youning suddenly became interested.

There seemed to be tiny starlight twinkling in her eyes.

Sang Luan moved closer to her and whispered a few words in her ear.

"You are really something."

Meng Youning opened her lips slightly and was about to speak when a deep voice suddenly came from next door.

The two looked at each other, then tiptoed and leaned against the wall with both hands.

"This time, I must succeed, not fail!"

After a series of rustling sounds, another female voice rang out, "I've sharpened my dagger overnight. This time, I'm determined to take the head of that bastard emperor."

"Everyone, put away your costumes and palace identification cards."

"This palace banquet is of vital importance. If it fails, we will die. If it succeeds, everyone present here will be a great contributor in the future."

The extremely clear words suddenly fell into the ears of Sang Luan and Meng Youning.
