Chapter 38 Definitely Go

"Hey, what are you doing?"

A bearded man glared, put down the thing in his hand, and suddenly stepped forward.

He quickly walked to Sang Luan, snatched the lip balm box from her hand, wiped the outer box carefully, and then carefully put it back in its place.

He stood up straight and glanced at the two of them with a wary look, ready to ask them to leave at any time. "Looking at the clothes these two girls are dressed, they must be rich or noble. How could they do such a shameful thing?"

Meng Youning said coldly, "Are you still selling this shop?"

The bearded man's eyes suddenly lit up, and he looked at the two of them again calmly.

A smile was already on his face, and he chuckled at the two of them, "So you two are here to see the shop, please feel free to look around."

He stretched out his hand and waved it in the air.

Sang Luan carefully inspected the shop again. After a moment, she silently withdrew her gaze and pointed at the lip balm that the man had just put down. "How much is this?"

There was a hint of confusion in the man's eyes, but he still answered as he was told. He glanced at the prices nearby and then said, "This is specially made. The raw materials are rare. I sell it for ten taels of silver a box."

Sang Luan hummed lightly, then said calmly, "The location here is pretty good. Have you ever thought about continuing to run this shop?"

After he finished speaking, the smile on the bearded man's face suddenly faded a lot. He said with a bitter face, "As you two can see, this location is good, but the surrounding shops are all very busy and have customers all day long. Only my Hongzunfang rarely has more than two customers on weekdays."

He paused and sighed heavily, "Today, you two are our first guests."

"What if I say I have a way to change the current state of the shop?" Sang Luan casually picked up a box of rouge and rubbed the lid lightly with her fingertips.

The bearded man's face lit up with joy, but then a hint of sadness flashed across his face. "How can this be easy?"

"How do you know it won't work if you don't try? Are you really willing to sell it rather than try again?" Sang Luan put down the rouge and took a few more glances at the small bell not far away.

The wind blew gently, and a crisp and pleasant sound quickly spread to every corner of the store.

At this moment, Sang Luan stared at the other person without blinking, and her beautiful eyes were full of confidence.

A hint of hesitation flashed across the man's face. Then, he gritted his teeth, raised his hand slightly, and said loudly, "Please come upstairs, both of you."

He quickly closed the door and took Sang Luan and the other person upstairs.

He bent over and poured two glasses of water, placing one in front of each person. Then his pupils suddenly dilated, "What method did the young lady just mention?"

Meng Youning took a sip and suddenly said, "You're not the real owner of this shop, are you?"

Hearing this, Meng Youning couldn't help but glance sideways at the man.

The man was obviously shocked, then he smiled bitterly, "It's indeed not me. This shop was originally opened by my wife with money. Not long after it opened, my mother told her to stay at home and not run around, and asked me to guard it. But I really don't understand women's things."

As he spoke, he scratched his head. "Well, I haven't sold a single thing in the few days I've been running the shop. A few days ago, I discussed it with my family and decided to just sell it for some money."

Sang Luan silently gave Meng Youning a thumbs up under the table.

Sang Luan cleared her throat and suddenly said, "If you want business to pick up, your wife still has to be the seller."

The man uttered an "ah" and subconsciously asked, "Why is this happening?"

Sang Luan glanced at him nonchalantly. "Let me ask you, are you familiar with the prices of the various rouges in this shop?"

The man shook his head. "Not very familiar."

Sang Luan took a sip of water and asked, "When customers come in, can you recommend the most suitable rouge to them right away?"

The man continued to shake his head, "No."

Sang Luan continued to ask soul-searching questions, "Then do you know why you haven't sold a single one in such a long time?"

The man looked stunned and said in a daze, "I don't know."

Sang Luan and Meng Youning looked at each other at the same time, feeling happy in their hearts but still not showing it on their faces.

She lowered her eyes, clenched her right hand into a fist, and placed it against her lips, coughing softly. Then Sang Luan continued slowly, "Just do as we say, and you'll see results in half a month at the latest."

"We can give you some silver first to help you out of your immediate crisis." Sang Luan suddenly changed the subject, speaking in a long tone, "But if you make a profit as I say, you have to split half of the money you earn with us."

The man stood up instantly, frowning, and then waved his hand decisively, "No, I haven't made any money yet, and you want to take half of my money just by paying a little?"

He flicked his sleeves violently, his expression extremely dissatisfied, "Where in the world can such a good thing happen?"

Without a word, Sang Luan took off the bag she had brought, opened it, and then calmly pushed it toward the man. "If you follow our method and it doesn't work, we won't ask you to pay back a single cent. Without us, you wouldn't have a chance to come back to life. Whether you're willing or not, it's up to you to decide."

The man's eyes fell on the gold and silver, his pupils suddenly widened, and he hesitated for a moment, with a very conflicted look on his face.

Meng Youning and Sang Luan immediately exchanged glances.

The next moment, Sang Luan quickly put away the bundle on the table with lightning speed and put it on her arm in the blink of an eye. "Since you haven't made up your mind, then think about it carefully."

Immediately, he turned around and made to leave.

The man's hesitant heart suddenly became flustered for a moment.

He was indeed thinking about the feasibility of this matter.

After all, he is not the one who suffers in the end. It would be best if he can make money, but if not, he won't suffer any loss.

Seeing that the two were about to leave, the man suddenly called out to them, "Hey, if you have something to say, please come and talk to me."

At the same time, he stood in front of the two of them without making a sound.

The two people, whose faces were half covered by the veil, slowly raised a faint smile at the corners of their mouths.

An hour later.

The man happily watched the two of them leave and said, "Goodbye, both of you."

After leaving Hongzunfang, Sang Luan patted the newly signed agreement on her sleeve, and her mood suddenly became much more relaxed. "With this, we can wait to collect the money."

There was a hint of worry in Meng Youning's eyes, "Is this really going to work?"

"Don't worry, this is a truth that has been practiced thousands of times, it will definitely work." Sang Luan touched Meng Youning's arm.

The two of them found an empty corner and chirped crickets for a while before returning home.

For the next few days, Sang Luan ran to Hongzunfang, and each trip took a whole hour.

That day, as Sang Luan had just left the house, a maid in the corner stared at her back, and then walked out slowly from the darkness.
