Chapter 141 is almost enough to fill a book.

Recently, the headmaster Xiao Chongwen and his wife have been arranging blind dates for Xiao Yunwei, but Xiao Yunwei has been avoiding the household for a week, using the excuse of being busy at the shop.

A few days ago, under her parents' incessant nagging, she met a young man from a prominent family, and the two agreed to meet at Zuiyue Tower.

Xiao Yunwei had barely sat down when the man began to berate her, "A woman with no proper conduct, she can't do needlework, and she's not good at playing musical instruments, chess, calligraphy, or painting..."

"She only knows how to show her face in public and work hard outside. Who would want to marry a woman like that? She won't even take care of her in-laws. What's the point of marrying her?"

In a fit of anger, Xiao Yunwei poured an entire pot of tea over the man's head. Enraged, the man tried to hit Xiao Yunwei.

Just then, Jiang Gan happened to pass by and saw it. Jiang Gan went up and kicked the man twice. "What kind of trash are you? How dare you criticize Boss Xiao? You are already over twenty years old. You eat and use your family's food. Have you ever earned a single penny?"

Boss Xiao is only 17 this year, and her business has expanded from Jiangnan to the capital. Do you even deserve to compare yourself to her? You are simply not worthy of Boss Xiao.

The man saw that Jiang Gan was aggressive and his hands and feet were unusually strong.

As a frail scholar, he dared not linger. He grumbled and left, rubbing his aching backside. Later, Jiang Gan sat with Xiao Yunwei by the river for the entire day.

Jiang Gan comforted him, saying, "Boss Xiao, your business is your livelihood, not a burden. They are blind. You deserve a better man in the world."

Xiao Yunwei snapped the foxtail grass she had been playing with in her hand, and said with a hint of helplessness, "This is already the ninth man I've been looking at..."

Jiang Gan was slightly taken aback upon hearing this. His indignant tone instantly turned into embarrassment, and he didn't know how to comfort him for a moment.

Xiao Yunwei had a bitter expression on his face. Perhaps because of the wind, his usually dashing eyes were now a little red.

Seeing her pitiful look, Jiang Gan patted his chest and declared righteously, "Then I'll marry you!"

These words slipped from her lips, and the two of them stared at each other, stunned.

After a while, Xiao Yunwei looked at Jiang Gan and scratched her head sheepishly. Her face, which had been full of bitterness, was now full of smiles. "Brother Jiang, you don't need to make things so difficult for yourself. I know my situation."

To everyone's surprise, Jiang Gan took two steps closer and said confidently, "Yun Wei is a heroine among women and a model for women in the capital. It would be a great honor for me to marry you. I would never make things difficult for you."

Now it was Xiao Yunwei's turn to be dumbfounded. She thought Jiang Gan was just trying to comfort her and was just saying it casually, but he was serious.

Xiao Yun smiled brightly. In her eyes, Jiang Gan was a heroic figure. She admired him, and his business was booming even though he was only in his early twenties.

Both of them were merchants. It would be better for her to marry Jiang Gan, who knew her, understood her, and liked her a little, than to marry one of those ordinary men.

“Alright, but I’m going to test you.” Xiao Yunwei was always the kind of person who spoke and acted decisively. “There are still some things to take care of regarding Jiangnan Fabrics. You’ll come with me to Jiangnan, and I’ll give you an answer when I get back.”

Xiao Yunwei remembered Jiang Luoluo saying that whether two people get along or not can be determined by going on a trip together, and she thought Jiang Luoluo was right.

Jiang Gan smiled broadly, "Okay, it's a deal."

As she savored and reflected on these thoughts, her eyes sparkled with starlight.

Jiang Luoluo nudged Xiao Yunwei with her elbow, and Xiao Yunwei finally snapped out of her daze. Her face flushed with embarrassment, she said, "I'll give you an answer, Luoluo, after I return from Jiangnan this time."

Jiang Luoluo looked delighted and smiled slyly, "Okay, okay, I'm waiting for good news from Sister Yunwei and my older brother."

As they chatted and laughed, the carriage arrived at the entrance of Zuiyue Tower. Soon, steaming hot brown sugar ginger tea was served. Since none of them had slept all night and had been exposed to the snow and wind, Jiang Gan invited everyone to drink some tea to warm themselves up.

Dingdang, Mofeng, and Moyang worked together all night. No wonder Jianggan's business is so big; he's very meticulous.

He also brought his subordinate Shuzhou and Xiao Yunwei's maid over, opened a large private room for them, and ordered a table full of sumptuous dishes.

He even sent people to bring Xie Zhichen over from Prince Yi's residence.

As soon as Xie Zhichen entered the door, Jiang Gan picked up his eldest nephew. Everyone thought that this little guy was living in the Prince Yi's mansion and would enjoy endless wealth and luxury, and would never have to worry about food or clothing for the rest of his life.

Jiang Gan knew that this was a pitiful little guy, but fortunately Xie Yizhi was very dedicated to teaching him, and his stepmother Jiang Luoluo also liked him very much.

He is fortunate and happy. With so many people helping him, his path will be even easier in the future.

The group chatted and laughed as they ate, creating a harmonious atmosphere. A charcoal fire burned in the private room, dispelling the chill from their bodies.

Before long, everyone had eaten and drunk their fill. Since none of them had slept well the night before, they didn't chat much anymore and went home to catch up on their sleep.

Xie Yizhi was unusually excited. Now that Jiang Gan and Xiao Yunwei were gone, he had to hurry up and ask Jiang Luoluo about the story of the old house catching fire.

But as soon as he turned his head, he met Xie Zhichen's clear, big eyes. No, no, there's this little guy in the carriage too.

As Jiang Luoluo chatted and laughed, she tested Xie Zhichen on some of the lessons he had been learning recently. The little guy was clever and quick-witted, and answered every question perfectly. Xie Yizhi also smiled with satisfaction.

Finally, the carriage stopped in front of Prince Yi's mansion. Xie Zhichen had to practice riding and archery in the afternoon, so he said goodbye to his parents and went back to his room for a nap.

Thank goodness, there's no one here now, so I can finally have a proper chat with Jiang Luoluo.

But as soon as she got back to the house, Jiang Luoluo collapsed onto the bed. She had been fighting with Empress Dowager Du all night, and now she was completely relaxed.

Jiang Luoluo felt sleepy and mumbled, "Your Highness, I'm so sleepy, I want to sleep. You can talk to me this afternoon."

Xie Yizhi couldn't bear to bother her any longer. He was with her every day, so he figured he might as well say it sooner or later, and a little more time wouldn't make a difference.

Although he felt a little disappointed, he said gently, "Luo Luo, sleep peacefully. You must be tired after working all night."

Dingdang came in and helped Jiang Luoluo change her clothes. Jiang Luoluo wrapped herself in the blanket and fell into a deep sleep.

The sun is shining brightly today, and much of the snow in the capital has melted. Jiang Gan and Xiao Yunwei will soon set off for Jiangnan.

Jiang Gan wrote a letter to his parents, who were far away in Jiaozhou, detailing all the big and small events that had happened in the capital during this period, including those involving Jiang Yuelan. The letter was more than twenty pages long.

Shuzhou frowned. His young master's writing was almost enough to fill a book.
