Chapter 17 You deserve to still be a bachelor.

Jiang Luoluo nodded with a wronged look on her face. She hadn't eaten anything oily lately, only some snacks to fill her stomach. After working all night, she was starving. What was even more despairing was that her carriage had been burned, and there was a big bag of delicious food on it.

Mo Feng and Mo Yang were already waiting by the carriage. Xie Yizhi strode over and gestured for them to proceed, saying, "Miss Jiang is in poor health, so it would be better for her to ride in the carriage."

Xie Yizhi's carriage was pulled by four Akhal-Teke horses. Mo Yang understood and quickly went up to untie three of the horses.

Jiang Luoluo didn't stand on ceremony. She was really tired and hungry at the moment. She gave Xie Yizhi a sweet smile and said, "Thank you, Your Highness. Then I will respectfully accept your offer."

When Xie Yizhi saw that sweet smile, his ice-sculpted face softened a little. The three of them, master and servant, mounted their horses and drove the carriage back to the capital.

Yao Shiyu limped and said softly, "Brother Boyuan, I sprained my ankle and can't ride a horse by myself. Could you help me?"

Gu Boyuan watched Jiang Luoluo disappear into the distance, feeling annoyed. He sighed helplessly, picked up Yao Shiyu, mounted his horse, and rode with her.

Xie Yizhi's carriage was spacious and comfortable, with tea sets and snacks readily available. Jiang Luoluo took a few packets of snacks and dried meat, lifted the curtain, and peeked out with her little head.

Xie Yizhi was riding his tall horse at a leisurely pace, walking past the carriage window. Jiang Luoluo waved something in her hand.

"Being someone's carriage driver makes you feel indebted," Jiang Luoluo said sweetly, "Your Highness, here you go!"

Xie Yizhi bent down and took a piece of jerky from Jiang Luoluo's other hand.

Jiang Luoluo's hand, which was resting on the car window, paused slightly as the golden sunlight of dawn shone on his handsome face.

Jiang Luoluo's breath hitched. She didn't even know when Xie Yizhi had taken the snacks and jerky from her other hand. To make matters worse, she had already taken a bite of the beef jerky.

Xie Yizhi looked at Jiang Luoluo's flushed cheeks and smiled. "Who told you to use your beauty to seduce me anytime, anywhere!"

Jiang Luoluo snapped out of her daze, hurriedly pulled her head back, and lowered the curtain. She touched her face with her hand; it was burning hot. She pinched her cheek hard.

She shook her head again, constantly reminding herself, "Jiang Luoluo, you and Xie Yizhi are just allies. Moreover, Xie Yizhi still has a deceased white moonlight princess in his heart. People in ancient times had three wives and four concubines, let alone members of the royal family. You must not have any improper thoughts."

Gu Boyuan, who was coming from behind, saw this scene at a glance, and his hand holding the reins clenched into a fist.

Yao Shiyu sensed the change in Gu Boyuan's aura. She lowered her eyes, bit her lip, and let out a loud "Ouch!" Gu Boyuan heard the sound and quickly asked, "Shiyu, what's wrong?"

Yao Shiyu said in a sweet voice, "Brother Boyuan, my feet hurt so much."

Gu Boyuan quickly released all his anger and began to comfort Yao Shiyu.

The carriage slowly entered the capital. The news of the passing of General Weiyuan and his wife did not spread in the court. Xie Yizhi also secretly went to Yunchuan that day, and only the emperor knew about it.

Of course, the emperor is not the only one who knows about this now, otherwise there wouldn't have been this assassination attempt in the valley.

"Miss, we're home!" A jingling sound rang out from outside. Jiang Luoluo rubbed her sleepy eyes. Xie Yizhi's carriage was indeed much more comfortable than hers, smooth and stable, without any bumps.

When they arrived at General Weiyuan's residence, it was nearly midnight. Dim lanterns hung at the entrance, and the guards were beginning to doze off.

Dingdang helped Jiang Luoluo down from the carriage. Jiang Luoluo held her parents' memorial tablets in her arms and pulled her fox fur cloak tighter around her. The weather in the capital was much colder than in Yunchuan.

Xie Yizhi dismounted as well. Jiang Luoluo, her eyes still sleepy, looked at him and curtsied, "Thank you, Your Highness, for seeing me off all the way!"

Xie Yizhi pressed down the corners of his slightly upturned lips, his voice as calm as still water, "Just going that way!"

Is it on my way?

A huge black question mark appeared in Mo Feng's head? The General Weiyuan Mansion and the Prince Yi Mansion are in opposite directions, okay?

Mo Yang glared at Mo Feng, that idiot, and said, "You brat, you deserve to still be a bachelor."

Mo Feng said in a serious tone, "It's not like you're not an old bachelor."

On the other side, Yao Shiyu pretended to jump off the horse and then softly let out an "ah".

Gu Boyuan frowned slightly, glanced at Jiang Luoluo, then looked away and said to Yao Shiyu, "Shiyu, your foot is injured, don't move around."

He then picked Yao Shiyu up and carried her down. Yao Shiyu had a smug smile on her face and looked at Jiang Luoluo. However, Jiang Luoluo seemed not to notice the two of them. She had already said goodbye to Xie Yizhi and entered the mansion.

Jiang Luoluo's carefree and decisive manner left Yao Shiyu completely dumbfounded.

She thought that Jiang Luoluo would throw a tantrum after seeing how good Gu Boyuan was to her, so she had already prepared her lines in her mind.

To her surprise, Jiang Luoluo ignored her completely. This was something she never expected. Could it be that Jiang Luoluo had really been reborn? Yao Shiyu felt increasingly uncertain.

Xie Yizhi watched Jiang Luoluo's figure disappear before turning his gaze away. The three of them, master and servant, rode away in a cloud of dust.

Gu Boyuan originally wanted to say a few words to Jiang Luoluo, but unexpectedly, Jiang Luoluo didn't even leave him with her back turned.

Yao Shiyu was helped by Gu Boyuan and limped into the gate. After all, this was the mansion of General Weiyuan, which was bestowed upon Jiang Chengfeng and his wife by the emperor. Yao Shiyu did not dare to be presumptuous and gently persuaded Gu Boyuan to go back.

After Gu Boyuan left, Yao Shiyu hurried along, showing no signs of pain whatsoever.

After Jiang Luoluo and her servant returned to the courtyard and washed up, they went straight to sleep. She hadn't had a good night's sleep in days. As for Gu Boyuan and Yao Shiyu's sweet talk, she didn't care at all.

What does "unmarried woman" even mean? In a few days, she won't be anymore anyway. Since Yao Shiyu and Gu Boyuan, that scumbag couple, like to be together, then let's lock them up.

The next day, when the sun was high in the sky, Grandmother Su Cuirong's head maid was banging on the door outside Jiang Luoluo's room, "Miss, get up quickly, the old lady wants you to come over immediately."

Hearing the maids at the door shouting louder and louder, Dingdang jumped out of bed. Jiang Luoluo rolled over and muttered, "Dingdang, I want to sleep. Tell them to keep it down."

"Alright, Miss." Dingdang tiptoed out of the room, her face cold as she said to the person who had knocked on the door, "My young lady is tired and still resting. Didn't we already inform the old lady last night that she would be going to pay her respects a little later today?"

The maid glared at Dingdang. The two of them were just like that, lazy as hell. No wonder all the noblewomen in the capital looked down on Jiang Luoluo. It was already this late, and she still wasn't up. The second young lady had already gotten up early and had breakfast with the old lady.
